Book:My happiness to you Published:2024-9-2

As Jen nodded and pulled me in to her room, I sat down on her bed and watched as she flicked through her wardrobe happily. She looked excited that I was finally going on a date with someone, and I think she was making it her mission to be my own personal stylist. Chuckling softly to myself, I felt my phone vibrate for a second time in my pocket. Pulling it out and flipping it open, I smiled when I saw another text message from Noah,
Forgot to mention earlier. Make sure you wear warm clothes gorgeous, you’re gonna need them. X
Raising my eyebrows, I wondered what he meant. The weather was supposed to be warm, even later in the evening, so why would I need warm clothes ? But to my relief, this meant I wouldn’t have to dress up in some sparkly dress that would make me want to yank it off every two minutes. Looking up at Jennifer, I knew she would be majorly peeved that I wouldn’t need her fashion advice anymore.
Hey Jen, I just got a text from Noah. Apparently I need to wear warm clothes so I’m just gonna put on some jeans. Looks like I won’t be needing your fashion advice after all, I smiled, noticing her annoyed expression.
Fine, she mumbled, shutting her closet doors and sinking down on to the bed next to me. But this has got me curious, where do you think he’s taking you ?
Staring at her, I shrugged. I honestly have no frickin’ clue.

Noah POV :
After getting out of the shower, I quickly pulled on a pair of black jeans and a blue sweater. All the while, I was running over the plan in my head. I had never done anything like this, so I was really hoping that it would go okay. Quickly stepping in to the hallway, I grabbed the coat off the hook and slipped it on. My heart was beating wildly. I was nervous, and it was a new feeling. I had never felt nervous before a date. Reaching in to my pocket, I grabbed my phone and dialled Mark’s number.
Hey man, is everything set up ? I asked when he picked up the other line.
Yeah man it’s all set. But you remember the deal. You have to do ten free shifts here over the next month, he replied.
Sure, will do, I grinned, excited that it was all ready to go.
This girl must be something special, Mark laughed, a questioning tone to his voice.
Trust me, I whispered. She is.
If you say so man. See you tonight, Mark said before hanging up.
Slipping the phone back in to my pocket, I opened the front door and stepped in to the hallway. Quickly reaching down to my coat, I made sure I had my wallet and keys. When I felt everything I was looking for, I closed the door behind me and stepped over to Lily’s. Damn it ! Why the hell am I so nervous ? Nodding to reassure myself, I reached up and knocked on her door three times and waited. After what felt like hours, Lily finally opened the door.
I released the breath I had been holding. She looked beautiful, just like always. She had on a pair of black jeans and a long red coat that fell to her knees. It had a belt, highlighting her slim waist. Her blonde hair was hidden under a white hat, but the ends were still visible as they fell over her shoulders. Glancing down to her sides, I saw that her hands were covered with purple mittens. God she looked adorable !
Hey gorgeous, I smiled, leaning against the doorframe.
Hey, she whispered, So I did you what you told me. I wore warm clothes. So will you tell me where we’re going now ?
Grinning, I reached out and wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her against me before she even had a chance to blink. It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you now, would it ? I whispered against her lips.
As I felt her shiver, I pulled her even closer, cupping her chin. Lowering my head slowly, I gently placed my lips on hers and kissed her lightly. Our lips were barely touching, but I felt the familiar rush of desire course through me. She stood on tiptoes, wrapping her arms around my neck, trying to pull me in closer. But with great restraint, I pulled away, grinning at her annoyed look.
You think you can just kiss me and I’ll stop asking you where we’re going. Well, think again because-
Laughing softly, I dipped my head forward again, this time crashing my lips against hers hard, stopping her mid-sentence. As she moaned and pressed against me, I lowered my arms to her waist, bringing her chest against mine. Her tongue licked my bottom lip slowly, and I growled low in my throat, heat rushing to my groin.
Excuse me, I heard someone say from behind Lily.
Breaking apart quickly, Lily and I looked and saw Jen standing in the apartment, a huge grin on her face. Are you gonna be sucking face all night ? she laughed. If so, could you step out in to the hallway so I can close the door !
We’re going now, I laughed, glancing at Lily. Come on gorgeous, we can’t be late.
Her cheeks were bright red, almost matching the colour of her coat. She nodded at me, a small smile on her face. Yep, let’s go. Bye Jen, she said over her shoulder before shoving me out the door rather forcefully.
It took all of my balance not to fall over my own foot and go headfirst in to the wall opposite. Smoothing down my jacket, I looked up and saw Lily staring at me. Are you gonna interrupt me every time I ask where we’re going ? She smiled, her arms folded over her chest.
Yep, I grinned, bobbing my head. So on second thoughts, ask away. I’d be more than happy to interrupt you, over and over again.
Well as fun as that sounds college boy, she whispered, stepping up close to me. I want to know where you’re taking me.
Taking hold of her hand, I smiled and pulled her down the steps quickly, excited to get the night started. As we ran down the steps, I took her out the back exit and in to the resident’s car park. The night air was crisp, and the faint glow of the street lamps was visible.
I didn’t know you had a car ? Lily asked, glancing up at me.
Are you kidding ? It’s my pride and joy, I nodded proudly, pulling her to the far side.
As we reached it, I let go of her hand and took a step forward. Spinning around so I was facing her, I extended my arms dramatically, trying to go for the full effect. Ta-dah ! I grinned, sweeping my arm back and patting the car bonnet.
I watched as Lily glanced at the car, and then shifted her gaze back up to me. Her expression was completely deadpan. Awesome, right ?! I grinned, nodding at her.
All of a sudden, she burst out laughing, looking at me like I was a complete moron. I exhaled loudly and folded my arms. Tapping my foot impatiently, I waited for her to finish her little laughing fit. She was bent over, her hands on her knees as tears fell from her eyes. Seriously ? I whined, looking lovingly at my car. It’s a classic !
It’s a classic ? She laughed breathlessly. I think you’re in denial.
I scratched my head and took a step forwards so I was standing beside Lily. Turning back around, I tried to see what Lily was getting at. The car was an old Volkswagen Beetle, painted a pale blue colour. Although that was hard to see, the doors were covered in rust, and the windows needed a good clean. One of the doors was painted brown, marking it out from the pale blue colour of the rest. I sighed, realizing Lily still hadn’t stopped laughing.
Classic, she muttered under breath, looking up at me from the corner of her eye, before bursting out laughing again.
Lily ! I whispered, If you keep laughing, I won’t be responsible for my actions.
She briefly looked up at me before pressing her lips together, trying her hardest to stifle the giggles. I’m sorry, she said slowly, trying to sound serious. But-
Her voice quivered, and a small laugh escaped her. Shaking my head slowly, I stepped behind her, grabbing her by the arms and spinning her around to face me. She stopped laughing immediately, looking up at me with wide eyes. I warned you honey… I whispered, pushing her backwards until her body met the hood of the car.
Her legs were on either side of mine, and she was effectively trapped between me and the car. I leant forward, a small smile on my face. At the same time, she leaned back slightly, so she was practically sitting on the bonnet of the car.
Noah… she whispered, biting her lip unconsciously.
