Swivelling around, my mouth dropped open as I saw his bare torso for the second time that morning, sweaty and tanned. His shirt was thrown on the floor, so all he was wearing were his black shorts and his black Converses. I had to resist the urge to go over there and just crash my lips against his, like I had wanted to do for a while now. Rubbing my eyes, I looked down at the ball and grinned.
Lets do this ! I yelled, kicking off from the floor and dribbling the ball in front of me.
We were using the trees in the field as goalposts. The goal that I was trying to score in too was next to the bench where Jen and Pete were sitting. Pumping my arms, I picked up speed as I zoomed towards the goal. I could feel Noah on my tail. He was fast. So as I glanced over my shoulder, I was surprised to find no one there.
Weird, I thought.
Turning back to the front, I cried out in surprise as I almost slammed in to a rock hard chest. Noah had overtaken me from the other side, creeping up and catching me off guard. Before I could figure out how to get past him, he kicked his foot out, stealing the ball from me and swerving to the side, running back up the field to the goal I was meant to be protecting.
Come on Lily, he grinned over his shoulder in delight, You can do better than that !
Shit, I mumbled, kicking off and sprinting for all I was worth.
There was no frickin’ way I was going to let him beat me. Since he was dribbling the ball, he was facing forward, all of his concentration focused on the goal he was approaching. Suddenly, an idea popped in to my head. I poured on the speed, my hair whipping in the breeze. I had said earlier, no tackling, but I remember specifically saying that those rules never applied to me. Before I could think twice, I ran forward and tackled Noah, crashing in to his back.
Ahhhh ! He shouted as we both went down in a heap on the floor.
He was above me, his body over mine. Pushing up from the floor quickly, I rolled over until he was panting on his back, and I was sitting on his chest, straddling him. You lose ! I whispered, panting.
He just stared up at me, breathing heavily. I gasped as he placed his hands on my thighs. Oh honey, I think I just won, he whispered huskily, staring up at me.
My breath caught in my throat as he kept rubbing my thighs. I didn’t try to move him away. Staring down at him, I bit my lip, my eyes wondering over his bare chest. Without even thinking, I reached out with my left hand, gently running my hand down it, following the trail that led underneath the waistband of his shorts. I felt him tense underneath me, and his hands stopped rubbing my thighs.
What are you doing Lily ? My mind screamed.
But I couldn’t help myself. Lily… he murmured underneath me, the arousal evident his voice. Moving my gaze up to his face, I just stared at him. Leaning forward, I placed both of my hands on the grass, either side of his head. My face was a mere inch away from his.
Lily… he murmured again, moving his hands up so they were on my back. I gasped as I felt him slip his hands under my shirt, caressing my bare skin underneath. I leant forward even further, so I could taste his breath on my lips.
I closed my eyes, aware of the desire that was coursing through me, threatening to unravel me at any second. I was close to kissing him. But as I felt his hand wonder to the front of my shirt, just underneath my ribs, I jolted upright.
What’s wrong ? Noah asked, looking up at me with lust in his eyes.
I just shook my head and climbed off him. No one had ever touched me there, and for good reason. I had never let anyone get so close before, and I can’t believe I had almost let Noah touch me there, of all places. Climbing off him quickly and standing up, I rubbed my eyes and shook my head. Sorry, I… I muttered, refusing to meet his eyes.
Still looking at the ground, I felt hands grip my shoulders. Lily, he whispered, forcing me to look up at him. Don’t be sorry, he smiled. As a matter of fact, I’m glad you stopped.
Really ? I asked, trying not to feel hurt.
Yep, he nodded. Because if you hadn’t have stopped, I would have ravaged you right here in this park in front of everyone.
I burst out laughing, looking up at him. I don’t know what it was, but even when he was being annoying, I couldn’t help but laugh. Just as I tried to come up with some lie to tell him about why I had flinched when he touched me on my rib, he darted past me. Spinning around, I glared as he kicked the ball in front him sending it flying straight through the trees.
GOALLL ! He yelled, turning around and laughing like a little kid. I just grinned at him, shaking my head. I could feel it. This annoying, childish guy was getting to me. And truth be told, I didn’t even want to deny it anymore.
As he ran up to me with the ball, he held out his hand for a high five. I smiled, slapping it hard. One-nil to you ! I said, running a bit in front and turning back around. But that’s the only goal you’re gonna score today !
Don’t bet on it ! He smirked, dropping the ball and putting his foot on top it. As he kicked it out in front of him, I ran and picked up speed. And as I felt the wind whip through my hair, I smiled.
Noah :
As I looked up at Lily, sprinting straight towards me with a huge grin on her face, I winced. We had been playing for almost twenty minutes now and it’s fair to say that she was totally kicking my ass. Time out, time out, I huffed, holding my hand up and waving it in the air.
Trying to catch my breath, I stared as Lily jogged over to me, a mischievous grin on her face. Dude, what’s up ? She smiled, I thought you were fit.
Smirking, I raised my eyebrows at her. You thought I was fit ? I asked, wiping the sweat off my brow and walking towards her.
I laughed as I saw her cringe. Oh man, why do you take everything I say out of context ? She huffed, quickly sliding her eyes down to my chest, and then back up to my face.
Holding my hands out to the side, I twirled on the spot. I can’t blame you gorgeous. Have you seen this physique ? I laughed, pointing down to myself with both hands. Oh wait. Of course you have, your ogling it right now.
Biting back a laugh, I watched amused as Lily snapped her head up. The whole time I had been talking, it was clear to see that her attention had been, elsewhere. You are so up yourself, she snapped, shoving the ball in my direction.
I caught it with ease, grinning at Lily as I did so. Temper, temper, I whispered as I walked past her. You should learn to vent your anger in other ways.
Tucking the ball under my arm, I smiled to myself as I walked across the field towards the bench where Jen, Dean and Pete were sitting. Even from a distance, I could tell that Jen and Dean looked mightily uncomfortable. Pete, on the other hand seemed completely oblivious. His eyes hadn’t left Lily since he had arrived here, and that just pissed me off slightly. I didn’t like the way he was ogling my girl. Holy shit, I thought. My girl ? Since when is she my girl ?
All of a sudden, I felt a hard slap at the back of my head. Owww ! I yelled, reaching up and rubbing the back of head. Lily !
Race you ! I heard her laugh as she sprinted past me, a huge grin on her face.
Lily ! You better run fast, I yelled, securing the ball under my arm and kicking off, flicking up dirt as I raced after her.
While I was behind her, I took the opportunity to gaze at her physique from the perfect angle. I watched the way her blonde hair flowed behind her, being picked up by the slight breeze. Her arms and legs pumped fast, catapulting her across the field at an amazing speed. It was easy to see why she had been given a place on the soccer team. My gaze slid up to her rear, and I felt a wave of desire course through me as it flexed beneath her tracksuit. I don’t know what it is, but even in sweats and a baggy t-shirt, Lily can get my blood pumping. Well, that’s enough of that. I could stay back here and gaze at her all day, but I can’t have Lily beating me twice in once day. So, with one last look at her ass, I smiled and began to pump my arms faster, overtaking her easily.
Come on slow coach ! I yelled over my shoulder as I darted past. I thought you were fit.
But no sooner had the words left my mouth when I noticed that I was almost to the edge of the field, and fast approaching the bench where the others were sitting. I slowed my pace down, getting to a slow jog while I reached the last couple of yards. Just as I was about to call over my shoulder to Lily, something slammed in to my back, almost knocking me off my feet.
