Book:My happiness to you Published:2024-9-2

He’ll be out in a minute, I lied, standing up quickly and smoothing down my dress.
You’re a real babe, the shorter one said, elbowing his friend. Why don’t you ditch the boyfriend and come with us. We’ll show you a good time.
Umm, no thanks, I muttered, sidestepping them and making my way towards the store’s entrance.
Suddenly, I felt a hand clamp down hard on my arm, sending a jolt of pain running through it. We weren’t asking princess, the blonde guy growled, leering at me.
Get your Goddamn hands off me, I whispered, anger pulsing through me as he gripped my arm.
Ooh, you’re a feisty little one, aren’t you, he smiled at me, the smell of alcohol strong on his breath. We’re gonna have a lot of fun with you.
Like hell you are ! I spat, wrenching my arm away from his grip and glaring at him.
Come here, you little bitch ! One of them spat, lunging for me and managing to grip my wrist in his hand. He squeezed it hard, causing me to cry out in pain.
HEY ! I heard someone shout behind me. Get your filthy hands off her !
As the guy dropped my wrist, I caught sight of Noah rushing forward, a look of pure rage in his eyes. Noah, it’s okay, I pleaded, Let’s just get out of here.
Like hell it is, he growled, stepping forward and shoving the taller guy, causing him to stumble back in to his friend. They both fell to the floor with a thud.
My eyes widened as I watched the two guys struggle to stand up, both of them looking extremely angry. The taller one stepped forward, a smug grin on his face. Your girl wanted it, she was practically begging for it, wearing that little dress.
Suddenly, Noah stepped forward and slammed his fist in to the guys face, sending blood spewing from his mouth. No one touches her but me ! He growled, standing over the guy.
I stared at him, running through what he had just said in my mind. ‘No one touches her but me ?’ That sounded a little on the possessive side, but surprisingly, I didn’t mind. At all. When he looked back at me over his shoulder I smiled at him. Are you ok gorgeous ? Did they hurt you ? He whispered, his voice hardened with barely concealed rage.
No, I, I’m fine, I smiled, stepping over to him.
Okay, let’s go, he said, looking down at the two guys one last time. You’re lucky you didn’t hurt her, or I would have sent you both to the hospital with four broken limbs, you pieces of shit.
Staring down at them, I was surprised when Noah grabbed hold of my hand, entwining his fingers with mine. I didn’t pull away. As we walked down the road, I glanced at him from the corner of my eye. You were pretty good back there, I whispered, smiling up at him.
Yeah, he muttered, sounding unsure. I just saw one of them grab you and it was like I saw red.
Well you sure kicked ass, I grinned, bumping his shoulder.
Yeah I did, didn’t I ? He laughed, bumping me back. And I even managed to hold on to your aspirin too. Now how’s that for multi tasking ?
I laughed as he handed me the bag. Thanks Noah.
You’re welcome gorgeous, he smiled. Now stop walking.
Huh ? Why ?
We still have two blocks to walk, so you better hop on up, he smiled.
And this time, I didn’t even want to protest. So without saying another word, I stepped forward and hopped up, grinning when I felt his hands grab my thighs. I immediately noticed that they were higher up than the last time, practically cupping my ass, but I didn’t say anything. Leaning my forehead against his solid back, I felt my eyes close once more as he began to walk back to the apartment building.
…………………………
Lily ? Hey… Someone whispered.
Opening my eyes grudgingly, I saw that we were in the hallway opposite my apartment, standing outside the front door. Lily ? I’m gonna put you down now, ok ? I heard Noah say quietly.
Letting go of his shoulders, I sunk to the floor, feeling a little pang of sadness as I felt his body heat disappear. As he reached for my purse I pulled it away. What are you doing ? I mumbled, still half asleep.
Well, you need a key to get in gorgeous, unless you want to have a sleepover at my place, he grinned, nodding to his apartment opposite.
Nope, I said, blindly reaching in to my purse and searching around for my key.
Yeah, I didn’t think so, he said softly.
When my fingers finally found the key, I pulled it out of my bag and handed it to Noah. Leaning against the wall with my eyes closed, I heard him put the key in the door and open it gently. Pushing up from the wall, I started to shuffle in to the darkened apartment when I felt Noah suddenly sweep me up in to his arms. Hey… I protested feebly.
Relax…You’re dead on your feet. I’m just taking you in to the bedroom, he said.
I nodded, wrapping my arms around his neck as he carried me through in the dark. I had left my bedroom lamp on, so there was a tiny bit of light that guided Noah along the hallway. Last room on the left, I yawned sleepily.
Gotcha, he whispered back.
When Noah finally reached my room, I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to shield them from the light. I felt him lower me down on to the bed gently, moving his arms out from underneath me. Thanks, you’re a good guy, I muttered, losing the battle to keep my eyes open and succumbing to the tiredness.
Sweet dreams gorgeous, I heard Noah whisper faintly before pulling the blanket over me and turning off the lamp.
