Gina had gone back home to debate in her mind, the matter about the two people she met at Liam’s penthouse and after a second thought, decided to go back to Damien’s office to relay the issue. The moment she got to the office, she noticed the severe expression on Damien’s face when he sighted her, but willingly ignored it.
“Damien, Liam now has a new maid, a bitchy one at that… And his mother, I think they both have a grudge against my daughter even though, I can’t guess what it’s all about”Gina ranted to Damien, not bothered by the expression on his face. “I want to get that filthy maid out of the house no matter what, I can’t allow my child to be bullied in the house that was rightfully hers”
When she didn’t get any reply from Damien, she stopped her rants and stared at him with a hurtful gaze flashing in her eyes. “Damien, were you listening to all that I just said?”
Damien after much consideration, decided it was time to break the silence. “I don’t think you will need to stress yourself to get rid of the maid… Liam has done that for you”
“How?” Gina questioned, with a confused expression on her face. “I just saw them in the house some hours ago”
Damien slowly picked up the TV remote control on his table and switched on the TV in his office for Gina to see. “There is it… Your daughter got involved in an accident that almost claimed her life and those two people you met at Liam’s house are the ones responsible for it”
“What??? When did such happen?” Gina exclaimed in shock as she stared at the TV in a panicked state. She had just seen her daughter a while ago. “But she was good when I saw her this morning… How then did she get involved in an accident within a short time?”
Damien sighed in frustration at the fact that he had to explain to the slow-witted Gina who was currently confused,” She must have left the house and those two must have acted when she left…. At least, she is still alive… The good thing about this is that people would begin to question the integrity of the Callahan family… A close kin of the ruler of the Callahan business empire orchestrated the attempted murder of the ruler’s fiancee… With this being the top search of the internet, I think we should carry out a plan that would aggravate the situation or what do you think?….”
Gina gazed at Damien with a bewildered expression on her face. No matter how cunning and sly she recognized Damien to be, she was still finding it hard that he wanted to use her own daughter’s situation for his benefit. But, she couldn’t utter a word against him, they had agreed to use any being at their disposal and Isabelle was one of those people, an important one at that. She needed to be calm, she needed to take things step by step and also use the privilege she had against Damien to the best of her abilities… No matter how much she detested her daughter, she wasn’t going to let any other person hurt her.
“So, what do you plan on doing?” Gina asked, her intense gaze on him after she had gathered her thoughts together. “How is your plan going to help us aggravate the situation on the ground?”
Damien rested his jaw on his two hands supported on his desk, his eyelids close as a sly smile curved on his lips. “I have been piling up a lot of information about Liam’s past life a long time ago… Now, I think it’s time to let it out to the public, bit by bit until his business starts to crumble from the impact”
Rachael was surprised by his words, her eyes widened in disbelief. “A lot of information?…. Since when and how come I didn’t know?”
“It’s something I’ve been gathering for years before you and your daughter came into the picture. Even Rachael doesn’t know much about it… I want us to start the main part of the plan but we’ll take it one step at a time… I want Liam Callahan to feel the struggle so he can feel my wrath… Just get prepared… I’ll let you know what to do in the meantime”
Rachael was still in shock at the news. She couldn’t believe she had thought that Damien had given her all the information she needed to know about their revenge. She had trusted blindly but there was no turning back now, she needed to see it through to quench her insatiable desire for wealth.
She brought out a pill from her handbag and swallowed it, inhaling deeply. Her mental illness had subsided when she borrowed a huge amount of money from Liam.. she had spent some of it treating herself.. but lately, she has been having little relapses unknown to those around her.
“Are you okay?” Damien asked when he noticed the pill, an unpleasant tone in his voice, his gaze flashing with annoyance. He knew about her mental health, the more reason why he had been using her but he couldn’t afford another relapse from her when his plan was already set to be launched. “When was the last time you visited the hospital?”
Gina avoided Damien’s gaze nervously, searching her thoughts for the answer to his question. “Erm… It’s been months now. I only go to the pharmacist to get new pills when the last one has been exhausted…. I’ll make sure I go this time”
“Are you crazy??… How could you take a condition like that so lightly? Don’t you dare try to ruin things for me? Get yourself treated before you end up in a place worse than the hospital” Damien scolded her with anger surging through his body, his gaze lingering with warning. He was going to tolerate any slight misstep from her. Her condition was a big problem in their goal, but he had overlooked it, thinking she had it under control.
“I will be fine… It’s just a relapse, I’ll go to the hospital for a check-up today” Gina said, her tone assuring him as she turned to leave his office immediately to go to the hospital.
