Chapter 1499: Escape

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-8-30

A bone-chilling cold wind blew through the forest, causing the leaves to frost and freeze.
Violet sneezed, tightened her clothes, and said, “Why did it suddenly get so cold? I wonder where Leo is now. Did he catch up with that Wolf Tribe Prince?”
Feeling the cold, Donovan’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t answer Violet.
Harrison reassured her, “Violet, Leo is very powerful. The Wolf Tribe Prince was already injured. He should be able to handle it. He must have gone to another part of the Enchanted Realm.”
Violet tilted her head and thought for a moment. It was quite possible since Leo came to the Enchanted Realm to seek opportunities and treasures.
The temperature continued to drop, and frost crept up the tree branches.
“Why does it feel like it’s getting colder?” Violet shivered and activated her Spiritual Power to dispel the cold.
This cold penetrated to the bone, making even Donovan and Harrison uncomfortable.
This situation was definitely abnormal. Harrison pondered for a moment and said, “Chief, this strange cold is coming from one direction. Maybe something has changed in the Enchanted Realm. Should we continue exploring?”
Just as Harrison finished speaking, many exotic beasts suddenly rushed out of the forest.
These beasts weren’t attacking them; they were fleeing in the opposite direction of the cold.
“Stop exploring. We’re leaving and heading back to the entrance of the Enchanted Realm,” Donovan decided after a brief thought.
Violet couldn’t help but worry, “Dad, if we leave, what about Leo…”
Her intuition told her that Leo was still deep within the Enchanted Realm.
Donovan looked at his daughter and said with certainty, “Violet, Leo is stronger than I am. Even if he encounters danger, he should be able to protect himself. We’ll wait for him at the entrance.”
Violet thought for a moment and finally nodded, silently hoping, “Leo, you’ll be okay.”
“Let’s go,” Donovan said, glancing at everyone.
With the chief’s command, no one objected and they began heading back to the entrance of the Enchanted Realm.
Not long after they left, the area they had been in was completely frozen, turning the trees into ice sculptures.
As the Coleman family quickly returned to the entrance of the Enchanted Realm, another group gathered in a different part of the forest.
This group was the Modock Family’s Werewolves.
At this moment, Augustus and his companions had reverted to their human forms.
“I swear to the great Wolf God, once we leave the Enchanted Realm, I will tear that Atraria Martial Cultivator who chased us into pieces!” Augustus vowed fiercely.
As a proud Wolf Tribe Prince, Augustus had never been hunted before and had lost many elite wolves.
Oliver, who prided herself on her beauty, looked quite disheveled, especially since some of her prized hair had been singed.
“Augustus, once we leave the Enchanted Realm and consume the Everlife Fruit, we must crush that Martial Arts Sect!”
“Of course. Once my height surpasses ten meters, those Atraria Martial Cultivators will be like ants,” Augustus said, looking towards the depths of the Enchanted Realm. “We already sent out a signal. Why hasn’t Nicholas arrived?”
Feeling the cold intensify and grow impatient, Augustus became more agitated.
“Earlier, I saw Nicholas being chased by that Atraria brat. Could it be…” Oliver suggested a possibility.
Augustus’s face darkened as he understood Oliver’s implication-Nicholas had been killed!
“Despicable Atraria Martial Cultivators! Our Wolf Tribe will never coexist with you!” Augustus roared in anger.
Although there was discord among the Wolf Tribe Princes and occasional conflicts, they were ultimately of the same lineage. The loss of many Wolf Tribe Dukes and Marquises made it hard for Augustus not to be furious.
“Augustus, the cold is getting stronger. Something must have changed in this Enchanted Realm. What should we do next?” Oliver asked.
After some thought, Augustus decided, “We’ve gathered enough Everlife Fruit. It’s not safe to stay here any longer. We’ll retreat to the entrance of the Enchanted Realm and leave. After consuming the Everlife Fruit, we’ll seek revenge!”
Besides Augustus’s group of Werewolves, others who entered the Enchanted Realm also felt the terrifying cold and retreated towards the entrance.
As time passed, frost rapidly covered everything in what was once a vibrant Enchanted Realm.
Life ceased under the encroaching frost.
In a central part of the Enchanted Realm stood over a dozen people dressed in white and an elder in a red robe.
The elder in red was Elder Redmond, who had lost an arm to Leo.
The others in white belonged to the True Martial Sect.
Elder Redmond had joined True Martial Sect’s elite in entering the Enchanted Realm to use their strength to kill Leo.
Unfortunately for him, Elder Redmond never encountered Leo.
The powerful cold quickly spread to the central part of the Enchanted Realm.
“Sect Master, Master, what’s happening? Why is it getting so cold?” Gage asked in confusion.
The Sect Master Gage referred to was Amari, a high-level Warrior King.
Earlier, many foreign Espers had retreated towards the entrance of the Enchanted Realm.
This indicated that something terrible had occurred within the realm.
Amari thought for a moment and said, “Something beyond human control must have happened here. We should leave as well. We’ve already gained plenty of Spirit Medicine and two Everlife Fruits on this trip.”
Feeling the intensifying cold, Elder Dylan quickly nodded in agreement. “The Sect Master is right. This cold wave is eerie. Soon, the entire Enchanted Realm might be frozen.”
“The only regret is not encountering that brat Leo!”
Amari said coldly, “Elder Dylan, don’t be angry. If that boy dares to kill disciples of our True Martial Sect and manages to leave this realm alive, I’ll make him wish he were dead.”
After his harsh words, Amari waved his hand and led his people quickly towards the entrance of the Enchanted Realm.
From an aerial view at this moment, one could see multiple forces that had entered the Enchanted Realm now rushing towards its entrance.
The terrifying cold froze everything in its path-both living and non-living things.
Besides slower exotic beasts, some weaker Martial Cultivators also turned into ice sculptures.
The freezing cold spared nothing-not even the sky. Some flying beasts turned into ice sculptures and fell from above.
