When the production team saw that their film was hyped up because of the photo posted, they announced a press release for the film ‘Wedding Catastrophe’.
As Ivy saw the announcement on their website, she immediately knew she was replaced. But she couldn’t quite figure out why the director went back on his word after telling her she got the role. She was very certain they were impressed by her acting. Brushing it off, she refused to feel dejected; there were other opportunities out there, she just had to find them.
After the announcement, they released the poster for the film, and her eyes caught someone she recognized in the poster. She turned speechless as she saw who many would assume was her among the cast. She zoomed in to get a better look at the so-called Ivy, the dimples were seen on her cheek and those eyes…
“Who is this imposter!” She couldn’t help it; she had to exclaim. It was too surprising to remain silent looking at her replica; even their hair color was the same. She looked at the imposter in the poster scrutinizingly, searching for obscure flaws. At first, she couldn’t find any, but with a closer look, she could see it. The poster showed half of the imposter’s body; her face was clearly defined, and the boobs, that’s where she was caught. Ivy’s boobs were slightly smaller in comparison.
A light bulb appeared on her head. Who else resembles her if not her…
“Irene! How desperate is she?” How desperate is she to make life difficult for her; first, she used Dave to almost ruin her, if not she encountered Mr. billionaire, and now that she was making her comeback, she snatched the role she managed to secure. She was just a supporting character and she was outlined as if she was the lead character; it was obvious the production team was using her fame to boost the film’s popularity. ‘What a strategy,’ she tossed her phone on the sofa; she received too many surprises in one day. She understood what Irene was trying to achieve; she wanted to cause an identity crisis, and honestly, she had no idea how to give a counterattack to thrive in the industry now that there were two Ivys.
She searched the net to find other cast calls; giving up was not on her day book. After searching for hours, she couldn’t find any of interest. Refusing to feel frustrated, she kept typing on her keypad, but it seems all the doors were shut to her face. She thought hard to come up with a new strategy and an idea knocked on her door. She face palmed herself for not trying the approach from the start.
Signing with an agency will be kept aside for the meantime; since she was rejected, there was no need to push through begging to get her signature on their papers. She wanted to make sure they would be the one offering to sign her instead.
She sent an email to a particular person she totally forgot to contact when she made the decision to come back to the industry. She is the only one who could assist her in her present situation.
Two hours after the email was sent, she received a reply. Cracking her knuckles, she closed her laptop and headed to the bathroom.
It was time to fight for her place in the industry, even if there is an imposter……
The next morning, she woke up earlier to meet up with her appointment. She wore a black long gown and a hat to match. Although her black glasses were a hell of a disguise, she still added it to the collection of black disguises.
They agreed to meet in front of a particular cafe she knew wouldn’t cause too much attention.
When she got there, a woman was already waiting for her in front of the cafe. Ivy stepped out of her car and took a good look at her former manager. She was very tall, 5’9 in height with a slender physique and short dark brown hair. Back then, she always told her she was meant to be a model instead of a manager. Many petite models dreaming to walk on the runway would wish to be in her shoes when it comes to height and beauty.
“Susan.”
Susan turned around, and her eyes met her only talented actress she would do anything to make sure she reaches the stars. “Oh my God, Ivy. I’m so happy to meet you.”
They enveloped in a tight embrace, with Susan not willing to release Ivy from her grip.
“You are going to squeeze me to death.” Ivy was finding it hard to breathe.
“That’s my punishment to you. We have a lot to talk about.” She seemed excited.
“Let’s go inside for a drink.” Ivy pointed at the door of the cafe.
“You make it sound as if we are going to have a shot of alcohol.”
They both laughed and took a seat in the shop.
“Your fame is frightening,” Susan had to comment. “You are still at the top of the entertainment news. When I found out you joined the cast, I was so excited, at least you still have a brain to not waste your talent.”
“Yeah, about that,” Ivy said fiddling her tinted nails. “How will I put this, you were deceived by that imposter because that’s not me.” She paused, looking at the expression on Susan’s face.
“You mean that person I saw on the poster for ‘Wedding Catastrophe’ wasn’t you,” Susan said slowly staring at Ivy in disbelief.
Ivy couldn’t just blurt out ‘look at our boobs it can tell the difference’. Irene really nailed it this time….
“You don’t believe me?”
“Of course…”
Ivy smiled.
“Not.”
She dropped her smile; ‘how can Susan be so clueless?’. “Really.”
Susan looked at the poster on her phone screen and looked at the woman sitting opposite her. She couldn’t tell the difference, she looked again and this time she nodded her head in realization.
“Do you have a twin?”
Ivy face palmed herself and huffed. “Susan, look again.”
Susan looked again closely. “What the hell, this uncanny resemblance…….” She was short of words.
“Whoever did this, what’s to stop you from regaining a foothold in the industry.”
“Can you tell the difference now?”
“Yep, the boo-boo in the boobs.”
“Correct.” Finally, she got it.
Susan kept shaking her head, ‘this person is sure capable.
