Book:Married To My Ex Billionaire Uncle Published:2024-8-30

Ivy’s refusal was an unexpected outcome for Irene; she has grown a lot more different than she was before. Not to mention Ivy’s change of attitude towards her.
“Oh, before I forget, congratulations. I wish you a happy married life in advance,” Ivy said, keeping a straight face.
Irene smirked, “Thank you,” leaving disappointed as she signaled someone seated at the far end of the restaurant with a nod.
The person understood and nodded in response.
Kate was patiently waiting in front of Irene’s car; the expression on her friend’s face told her things didn’t work out. She predicted this; after all, she still remembered how Ivy surprised her at the clothing store. Since then, she hadn’t told Irene about it, too ashamed to tell the real truth about her bankruptcy.
“Did it work?”
Irene ignored her and got into the car. “Let me guess, her attitude…”
“Do you still have it?” Irene cut her off.
“Ye…” Kate was unsure of what she was asked for. “What exactly?”
A glare from Irene jogged her memory. “Oh, that, yes. I still have it. Do you want me to…”
“No, let’s wait for the right time.”
Kate had no reason to hate Ivy, but as for Irene, Kate couldn’t wrap her head around the main reason she was so determined to make her suffer. “I have things under control.” She was certain Ivy will come back to ask for help after she finishes dealing with her.
“As for you, you better find a way to cater for yourself. I can’t keep carrying your burden,” Irene said in a serious tone. “How did you get scammed anyway?”
That was the terrible lie Kate told to hide her shame.
“Well, it was a long story.” Indeed it was something she couldn’t get herself to admit. Who was really worthless that day was obvious.
She drove off with Kate but not without sending a text…
‘She really left me to pay for the meal,’ Ivy chuckled, still seated as the waitress approaches.
“Ma’am, here is the bill.”
‘To hell with her courtesy.’ It was obvious by her lips she was ready to humiliate her the moment Ivy hesitates. The smirk on her face reminded her of the person who left just a few minutes ago.
“You don’t have the money…”
Before she could finish dropping her facade, Ivy placed the cash on the table, staring at her.
“Have a nice day, Ma’am.” She bowed politely, but as she lifted her head, a captivating presence made her step back as she blinked at the sight in front of her.
‘Zack Anderson.’ It was a middle-class restaurant, not the posh ones.
Why would he come here?
He crouched and planted a kiss on Ivy’s cheek, which made her flinch as she turned to see who it was.
“Let’s go home, darling…” Zack said, preparing to give her another kiss.
Ivy held his collar and whispered. “What are you doing?” They were husband and wife now, but Ivy never expected him to show her affection in public.
The person sitting at the end of the restaurant stood up in surprise.
‘This was not part of the plan…’ However, this will still make a good story. Taking a few shots, he smiled to himself…
‘This is much better.’
Zack held her waist as she stood up to lead her outside…
“Excuse us, please.” The waitress was still stunned.
“Sorr… y, Sir.” She stepped out of the way, almost tripping.
“Why did you come here?”
Zack ignored her question, still holding her waist.
The driver, seeing them, opened the backseat with his head lowered.
“Why all of a sudden did you decide…”
“You shouldn’t be asking me questions.” Zack’s cold expression made her bite her lip in silence.
“Okay, I’m sorry I must ask this… why did you kiss me like that in a public place?” Ivy felt there had to be a reason for what he did…
There was no answer, and she was about to repeat the question before her vision blurred,
“What is happening to me?” Ivy said drowsily, as her head fell on Zack’s shoulder.
He didn’t push her away; after all, he knew the reason why she fell asleep all of a sudden. If he hadn’t come, then she would have been in a mess…
When they arrived at the villa, he carried her inside and gently placed her on the bed. There was no need to prepare her bath; he knew she wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.
He stood with crossed arms scrutinizing her face; her beauty was nothing compared to Irene’s. Despite being sisters, Ivy’s level of attractiveness was way beyond Irene’s. It made him wonder, why would Dave choose to deceive her into a relationship when he was truly aware he would never love her? The Andersons he knew would never hold onto one woman for life, so why was Dave willing to pretend to love Ivy for Irene’s sake?
‘The two sisters had a history, but he couldn’t figure out the reason for Irene’s burning hatred for Ivy.’
If he had left her alone in the restaurant, Ivy’s life would have been ruined. Watching her peacefully asleep, he was more determined to help her, even though she told him not to worry about her.
