We got to the Blue Enterprise and there were lot of people standing outside the company including media’s and reporters, all waiting for the CEO of Blue Enterprise to arrive.
Haven’t had my phone for over twenty-four hours now, so I can’t say for certain what’s going on.
“Can you please tell me what’s going on Ray,” I said as the chopper rounded the company to the parking lot, we got down and it took off immediately.
Ray walked ahead of me like he couldn’t hear me speak, I held him back drawing his attention to me, “I’m talking to you, don’t just walk away.”
“Don’t worry yourself about anything Nora, there’s a car that will take you to your family house, your Dad wants to see you, he’s been really worried.” He said.
“Stop talking to me like I’m a child, tell me what is going on right now, I deserve to know.” I said already fuming with anger.
“Just calm down baby girl, this is really urgent, I promise to make it up to you.” He said holding both my hands softly. And just like medicine it worked, it fucken worked, why am I so soft ?
“I’ll come get you after all of these is sorted out, for now stay at your parents house okayyy?” I nodded like some cartoon character being told exactly what to do without asking question.
Still engrossed in his soothing words, one of his bodyguards who was standing close to Ray immediately ran passed me almost hitting me, Ray quickly pulled me into his embrace, one hand on my waist the other holding my head.
” Hey stop there!” I heard the bodyguard say, and just like reflex action the other bodyguards joined in.
They ran after a man I couldn’t see clearly, but he obviously had a camera around his neck..
He was caught within seconds and was dragged towards me and Ray. “Get in the car Nora,” Ray said, and immediately the car door was opened for me to get in.
“What are you gonna do to him ?”
“Is nothing for you to worry about, get in, before someone else’s tries to take pictures.” He pushed me into the car slightly, and locked the door behind me.
The car took off immediately, and I couldn’t help but look backwards to see what had happened to the man, however the only thing I saw was Ray smashing his camera to the wall.
“Get him out of my sight,” I said as my bodyguard pulled him away, I walked into the building paranoid at how today’s event was already turning out.
“Sir the meeting is about to start,” my secretary ran to me immediately she saw me.
“Good! In the main time send my son to my office.” I said striding into my office.
“Okay sir.”
“Now!”
“Yes sir,” she said running off. I sat on my chair running my hands through my hair, today was so perfect I almost forgot there were unresolved issues I had to take care of, Nora just made it so easy to live and be myself, not the Raymond MCLaren everyone knew and feared, the little girl isn’t even scared of me, it makes me forget I have a child who is even older than she is. Still lost in my thoughts, I heard a slight knock on the door, and Jake walked in afterwards.
“You sent for me Dad,” he said.
“Lock the door behind you,” I instructed without looking up, he did as I said however refused to come anymore closer, I could tell from the number of paces he took.
“Why did you release those videos and pictures on the internet ?” I said my voice very calm, I was still seated on my swivel chair however I was seated facing the window.
I waited for a response but there was nothing, I turned out of anger hitting my hands on the desk, “Why did you release those stuff on the internet ? What were you even thinking ?” He flinched at my sudden outburst.
“I had to stop the friendship one way or the other, besides it wasn’t my intention to upload them, I only showed it to her sister and she uploaded them.”
“Can you even hear yourself ? In your attempt of trying to bring down Nora you absolutely forgot how this will affect me and the company, same company that will pass on to you. How could you even let that happen ?”
“Like I said I didn’t mean to and I don’t regret it either, she was trying to get back at me so I gave her a dose of her own medicine,” he said stubbornly.
“I can’t believe my son is the one saying this, Nora is a lady, and things like this can tarnish her reputation, not even can it has happened already, I explained to you that she was unaware of our relationship, but your stupidity pushed you to act out of impulse, imagine this was your sister in question…” At this point I was already fuming in anger cause right now he’s looking so unrepentant.
“I’m do disappointed in you Jake..”
“Why are you only thinking about her ? How about me and how I feel about all of this, my father going out with a girl my age, for crying out loud I’m older than her, and even after finding out the truth you still refused to end things with her, rather you even went ahead to take her on a vacation where you could fuck her without interruption..”
“Jake!!!!!” I shouted standing up from my seat. “Not another word from you,” I said pointing a finger at him.
“Clearly you aren’t thinking correctly, however this is no place and time to reset your brain. The media is in the conference room, you’ll go there and tell everyone you’re sorry you released those videos and that it was a misunderstanding and you’ll apologize to Nora as well, don’t forget to tell them all those shitty things her sister said were all made up, do you understand ?”
“I’ll do no such thing, you can’t force me to do it.” He said adamantly.
“This is not a request Jake, it’s a command.”
“Or what ? What will you do ? Send me to some camp ? I’m not 15 anymore, I’m an adult and can make my own decision.”
“Of course you’re an adult, which means you’re ready to deal with the consequences, like being locked up for invasion of privacy, or wait fending for yourself as well.”
“What are you saying ?” He said fear and confusion already creeping into his face.
“Ooh my dear son I’ll explain, the Grey’s company might not be a big one, but what if they decide to file a law suit, first you took a video of someone illegally, well a fine might cover that, however the video was uploaded on the net, causing trauma to the individual and tarnishing her image as well, what do you think the court will say about that ?, or she decide to say you’ve been stalking and harassing her after all there are videos to show as evidence.”
“She’ll do no such thing,” he said. “Even if she does I’ll clear my name.”
Never underestimate a woman’s power Jake, and clear your name you say, with what ? My money and power ?” I said going back to my seat, “You won’t have access to any of that, I gave you an option to do the right thing, what made you think I’ll help you when you get caught up in your own trap, huh ?” I said turning my chair around.
“Of course I won’t, so you either do the right thing or make up your mind to start working for your own money and facing the consequences that comes with your action.”
My phone rang and when I picked it up it was my secretary, “Sir the share holders are all seated waiting for you.”
“I’m on my way.” I stood up buttoning my jacket.
“In the conference room Jake, they’ll be waiting for you, I’m sure you’re very sensible man, you’ll surely do the right thing.” I said tapping his shoulder before making my way out of the room.
