LIAM’S POV.
“Back to earth brother” Kane snapped his finger at my face and I gave him a low growl in return. When did this motherfucker get here.
“Good day to you too brother” He smirked at me, before pulling out a chair for himself.
Just then the bartender brought my order, gently placed it on the table and left afterwards.
Kane took his gaze to the table and pretentiously acted shocked. “Tobacco?…” He drawled. “You must be really heartbroken brother” And he didn’t forget to add the mockery tone. I just hate this guy!. I gave he a hard glare and he buzzed off immediately.
“Are you gonna be smoking this anytime soon or just stare at it?” He asked pulling out one for himself, he lit it up and started smoking away.
I stretched my hand forward and also took one from the table. I lit it up and was soon smoking away.
Kane exhaled out some smoke from his nostril and mouth at the same time and afterwards turned to me. “I can see you became a pro brother…I can’t believe you are about beating me at this. I mean I fucking taught you how to do this!” He gave me a sly smile.
He never misses a chance to taunt me, do he?. “What if you taught me.. I’ve always been better than you in everything” I drawled the last part so it would sink into his damn skull.
He tried controlling his emotions but my eyes were sharp enough to see his balled fist underneath the table. His face softened up and he flashed me a smile. This guy is all fake!.
“So brother, who broke your heart?” He asked placing his tobacco on the table and opening one of the whiskey. Afterwards, he poured some into two glasses and passed me a glass.
“I’m waiting bro” He urged before drinking some of the whiskey from the glass cup.
I grabbed on to my whiskey and drank it all in a goal. My gaze shifted to the already uncorked whiskey, I grabbed it and drank it all, without another thought.
“Wo.. aah. Easy bro” Kane stared at me shocked. I guess because he’d never seen this side of me. He still has a lot to learn.
“Why did you get so rugged?. Now I’m not sure if I should still feel safe around you or be scared of you?!” He dramatized.
“The later” I knew how badly I was getting under his skin and he kinda soothe my heart. “So, are you still interested in listening?” I said refilling his glass of whiskey.
“Why did you think I came here?. Because I’ve got a lot of time to waste off you?” He glared at me.
“Maybe” I emptied another glass of whiskey. “But I won’t let you do that” I added.
“Start talking already!” Kane banged his hand on the table roughly and I couldn’t help but feel contented.
“It’s about Alice” I started and almost immediately my face dropped.
“What’s wrong brother?” Kane’s voice was calmer and it almost seemed as if he cared. Almost, cause I knew he didn’t.
“I lost control and slept with her sister” I blurted out and I could feel guilty crept into my body.
“Then she came back home and saw me and Elizabeth in the bathtub and blacked me off. After that I appeased her, took her back home and treated her fairly. I promise I really tried my best to tell her the truth but I just couldn’t…And I don’t know why?!” I confessed it all.
Kane stared at me for sometime before finally speaking up. “That’s a whole lot of confession there and you know something, while you were saying those things, it almost felt as if you still had a heart. Do I know you Liam?” The last time he was this serious was when he backstabbed me!.
“You don’t” I replied firmly.
He rolled his eyes and poured some whiskey down his throat.
” First of all brother, where was Alice when you and Elizabeth were enjoying yourself?” He asked. The way he made it sound as if I loved having sex with Elizabeth, makes me mad!.
“She went to take care of her sick father” I gulped down another glass of whiskey and went ahead to refill.
“And what was her reaction when she saw you in the bathtub?”.
“She left the house crying and went to stay with her friend”.
“Did she take any of her belongings?”.
“I thought I practically said she ran out of the house immediately, crying. She didn’t!”.
“How long did it take to appease her?”.
“I don’t know. But I think, less than a day”.
“What was her reaction toward her sister when she came back into the house?”.
“She got super paranoid and I had to stop Elizabeth from telling her the whole truth by faking passing out”.
“And I bet she cared for you, and tried your best to make you feel alright” He tapped his fingers on the table. Where was he going with all this?.
“She did”.
“How come she hasn’t confronted you about cheating yet?” He furrowed his brows.
“She did this morning. Practically, I’d never seen her that annoyed before. I mean, she’d never got the guts to stand up to me, but today she not only emptied a bucket of water on me, threw me out of bed, called me a failure but slapped me across the face thrice!.
Kane’s mouth flew open. “Alice slapped you thrice?”.
I glared hard at him and he cleared his throat almost immediately.
“I was thinking she might have done that already. There’s no way everything would work out perfectly if she hasn’t.
“What do you mean?” I furrowed my brows at him.
“When did you become so soft that you stopped using your head and following your heart. Everything is right in front of you but you’ve chosen to ignore it all”.
“Just fucking tell me where you’re driving at!” I yelled at him.
“All I’m saying brother is…this was all planned” He stated.
” Are you saying…I was been framed?”.
