Allison rolled her eyes at Xalia and she giggled.
“What?” Xalia asked with a smile.
“I don’t get it. What is so special about Cody?” Allison asked.
“I don’t know. I just feel so different around him.”
“Your husband is a million times better than him.”
“Yeah, whatever.” Xalia shrugged and looked away, she wasn’t feeling comfortable having that conversation with Allison.
“May I have your attention please?” A man called as he walked to the little stage, everyone paid attention to him.
“Let’s start the activities of today.” He announced and a few people clapped, he called on a group of strippers to the stage and the men cheered.
Xalia sighed and drank a little out of her drink, she thought about Draven and she looked around for him.
‘Isn’t he coming?’ She thought.
*******
A WHILE LATER
“When are they going to get on with the announcement?” Allison groaned as she glanced at the time on her phone.
“Hey, have you seen Draven around?” Xalia asked.
“No, I haven’t seen Henry either.” She replied.
Xalia breathed out and watched as an auction went on, she suddenly felt pressed and she stopped a waiter who passed by.
“Excuse me.” She called.
“Yes ma’am?”
“Where can I find the restroom?” She asked.
“Take that door and go down the hallway, you will find a female restroom there.”
“Okay, thank you.” She said and he bowed slightly with a smile before walking away.
“I will be right back.” She said to Allison and she nodded in response. Xalia stood up and walked towards the door the waiter pointed at.
She opened it and walked out of the room, she got to the hallway and walked down. Only a few people were around and they were making out. She found the restroom and she walked in, she did her business and in a few minutes she was done.
She walked out of the restroom and it was suddenly quiet. There was no one in the hallway again and the only thing that could be heard was the music playing at the party.
She shrugged and walked towards the party. She suddenly screamed in fear when she saw Draven leaning on the wall with his hand in his pants pocket. He was dressed in a tuxedo and his hair fell slightly on his face.
He looked so cute and charming.
He looked at her and she stared back at him, she couldn’t deny the fact that she was relieved to see him. She thought he wouldn’t show up.
He slowly walked towards her and her heart thumped. He got closer to her and he lifted his hand, he tucked her hair behind her ear and she started to breathe heavily.
He looked so intimidating and dominating.
“Breathe.” He said and withdrew his hand from her hair, he leaned closer to her and brushed his lips against her cheek.
A million thoughts ran through Xalia’s head as she tried to process what was going on.
‘Is this a punishment?’
‘Is he trying to make up with me?’
‘Is this an apology?’
‘Is he being nice all again?’ She thought.
Her lips parted slightly as she inhaled his scent, his scent made her recall memories of them cuddling in the bed and having a nice time.
The hair on her body stood erect as he breathed on her neck. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the sensational feeling she was having. He moved his lips to her ears and breathed out.
“Adios diosa sexy.” He whispered and Xalia’s eyes snapped open immediately. He pulled away from her and she could feel her heart beating rapidly.
‘Is that just a compliment?’
‘Does he know Cody said that to me?’
‘I’m I in trouble?’
‘Is he mad at me?’
Taking one final look at her, Draven walked out of the hallway and Xalia’s hands trembled. His face held no expression but they seemed so cold, Draven only stares at her that way when he gets really mad at her.
‘How did he know what Cody said?’
‘Does he actually know?’
‘Am I just overthinking things and that was just a compliment?’ She thought.
She took a few seconds to get herself back together, she took deep breaths and exhaled before walking out of the hallway.
The party seemed more crowded and she made her way to their table.
“Hey, what took you so long?” Allison asked as Xalia got to the table and took a seat.
“Long line for the bathroom.” She replied.
“I just saw Draven and Henry now, they are sitting there.” Allison said pointing in a direction, Xalia looked there and she sighed as she saw Draven and Henry.
They were sitting close to the stage and Cody was opposite them.
“It’s the time we all have been waiting for.” A man announced as he got on stage and everyone became silent, he picked up an envelope and opened it, his face held no expression and he cleared his throat.
“It’s Draven Wade.” He hurriedly said and walked off the stage, Henry chuckled as everyone clapped.
“Oh, look at that. You are married to a mafia lord but you are beaming around his servant.” Allison said sarcastically and Xalia rolled her eyes at her.
She watched Damien sit conveniently in his seat and didn’t pay attention to the people congratulating him. Xalia glanced at Cody and he was part of the people appreciating Draven.
‘He is so sweet.’ Xalia thought and also joined the crowd in clapping.
The party ended by night and it was time to leave, Allison figured most of them parked their cars behind the building.
As they were about to walk out, Henry suddenly showed up in front of them and they both smiled nervously.
“Hey babe.” Allison called and he gave her a stern look.
“You stole the invites in my car.”
“Stole is a strong word, I just took it.”
“Well, guess what? You just booked yourself a ticket back to Atlanta tonight and you put Xalia into a lot of trouble.”
“Wait what?” Allison asked.
“What?” Xalia asked.
“Yeah, you both heard me. Draven already booked you a ticket, the maids already packed your bags and a car that will take you to the airport is waiting outside.” He explained and Allison scoffed.
“Is this some kind of a joke?”
“It won’t seem like a joke anymore when you are on a late-night plane to Atlanta.”
“Draven can’t do this.”
“He already did so you both, come with me.”
“What about the car we came with?” Xalia asked.
“It isn’t there anymore.” He replied and walked ahead of them, they both looked at each other and sighed before trailing behind Henry.
They got outside of the building and only a few cars and people were around, a lot of people left already.
They walked to where Draven was standing and they noticed three cars parked.
Henry got to Draven and he looked up at Xalia and Allison.
“Get in the car. Your plane leaves in less than an hour.” Draven said and Allison sighed.
She was about to walk to the car but Xalia held her hand.
“No.” Xalia said.
“No?” Allison asked, confused.
“No, she is not going anywhere.”
“What are you doing?” Allison mumbled.
“Draven, you have no right to tell me how to live my life. She came here to spend the weekend and she won’t leave until this weekend is over. You can’t just order me to do anything and I will do it every time. Stop being so manipulative.” Xalia said and all of them became silent.
Xalia’s heart raced as she waited for his response, she knew she just crossed the line but she anticipated his response.
Without saying a word, Draven opened his car door and got in, he drove away and Allison groaned.
“You just gave a reason why Allison would stop visiting.” Henry said and she glared at Xalia.
“What? I was helping you. I stood up for us.”
“We did something wrong. Coming here was wrong, you could have just let it go.” She said and Xalia scoffed with an eye roll.
“This was your fucking idea. I had no idea we were coming here until we were halfway here.”
“I fucking know that but you would have just let it go.”
“You were okay with leaving?”
“Of course not but Draven isn’t someone you can just defy.”
“Of course, the mafia lord.” Xalia scoffed.
“You’ve got forty minutes more Allison.” Henry said, interrupting their conversation.
“What? She is still leaving?”
“Yeah, don’t give a reason she will stop visiting.”
“I did that for nothing?” She asked and Henry shrugged.
“I’m sorry Xalia.” Allison apologised and hugged her.
“It’s fine.” She replied and hugged her back. She walked to the car a chauffeur was in and entered. He drove away and she waved at Xalia as he did.
“Come on, I will take you home.” Henry said and Xalia sighed. They both entered the car and Henry drove away.
They got to Draven’s mansion and Xalia hesitated to get out of the car.
“What’s wrong?” Henry asked, noticing her hesitation.
“I’m scared.” She whispered and tears started to cloud her eyes.
“Hey, it’s okay. Draven isn’t going to hurt you.”
“That’s not true Henry. He has been so mad at me all week and I just made it worse. He owes me an apology but he won’t say anything to me. I am… ”
“It’s okay. Don’t cry.” Henry said as he patted her back.
“I will go in with you okay?”
She nodded in response and they both got out of the car, she moved closer to him and he held her hand as they walked in.
They got in and met Draven in the living room, Xalia stood behind Henry in fear as he turned to them.
“Is there something you want?” Draven asked Henry and he sighed.
“Can I talk to you outside for a second?” Henry asked and Draven walked out of the house.
“It’s okay. I will talk to him.” Henry assured and Xalia nodded before he walked out. She waited patiently and played with her fingers as she did.
Draven suddenly walked in and she froze.
“3469.” Draven said to her and she looked at him confused.
“What is… ”
“That is the code to the red room. Be there in two minutes.” He cut her off and walked away. Xalia’s hands trembled and her heart started to race.
“I can’t fucking wait for the divorce.”
