Sitting on the only couch in Alita’s apartment, Luciano kept staring at Alita’s pictures. His gaze were fixed as he didn’t even blink, it could be that he had forgotten how to blink or no longer see it as something he is supposed to do.
A bottle of Black rum was on his left palm while he was holding his phone in the right. While scrolling through the pictures, he caught glimpse of the only and last picture he took of her.
The picture she was laying with her face down on his bed wearing his pink trousers pajama and a rope bra. The waist band of the pant she wore was showing as the trousers was not able to stay on her waist.
Alita’s legs were spread horizontally with her hands wide, Her long jet black hair covered her face and small part of her neck.
“Goodbye babe” Lu muttered to himself as he sipped from the bottle of rum.
He avoided his brother that had been glaring at him for the past twenty minutes. He doesn’t have to think about food because he gets to prepare his meal when ever he is hungry and gets back to been sad.
A small smile appeared on his face as memories of the day came afresh. As if he had known that the picture would be the only thing that would give him joy.
The way the trousers fell off her waist when she stood up made him burst into laughter. He laughed for a while alone before Davidson joined him.
“You think it’s funny?” Davidson yelled “You think you are too broken to stay here days?” He intoned.
Lu just stared at him blankly and raised the bottle to his lips. He took a very long sip, gulping the alcohol like it is water. He had almost drink up the remaining quarter before Davidson stood up.
Davidson was about dragging the bottle from Lu but missed it. His angry blue eyes glared at Lu’s smirking face before he groaned loud.
“Fvckkkkk!!!” Davidson yelled “You can’t keep coming here every morning to stare at a picture till evening” he frowned. His brows lifted as he threw his hand up and let them fall like matter “This is uncalled for!”
“It’s necessary” Lu said dryly.
Davidson’s jaw dropped open, his arms went across his broad chest as his frown deepen. His lips went into a straight line as his gaze narrowed fiercely.
“Don’t tell me you are drunk” Davidson said in disappointment.
“You watched me nurse a bottle of rum as I say my last words to Alita” Lu said in defense “I am not really drunk!” He added with a weird smile.
“Alita is not dead” Davidson said through clenched teeth “You are making me sick with your horrible obsession for this girl” He yelled.
“I don’t like that” Lu said. He stared blankly to the air before a small smile appeared on his face “I just feel like she belongs to me”
The expression on Davidson’s face was priceless. His brows and eyes lifted as he moved his fingers through his hair and groaned. He clenched his fist and walked around the room.
With the red look on his face, he was trying not to punch Luciano in the face and break his nose.
“What makes you think she won’t want to pull a trigger and blow your face off when she sees you?” Davidson asked.
He didn’t wait for Lu to finish thinking, he took stomped towards the door. His show making pop sounds on the half rotten wood as if his leg would create holes as foot prints.
“When you are done with your grieving, I will be waiting for you before I put this place on sale” Davidson said last before he walked out.
A dry chuckle escaped Lu’s lips. He knew Davidson might be joking about putting the house on sale. The same house that he had officially gotten in Gio’s name and would relovate the house.
For the grife part, Lu thinks his brother is right. Obviously, he had not just want to keep coming to visit Alita’s house for three days in vain. His aim is to pay his last respect to Alita and never go after her again.
Of a truth, he knows that Alita would want to Kill him immediately she sees him and he wouldn’t want her to be his enemy. It would be best to have it in mind that she is dead and if possible, she might learn how to forgive him one day.
If that day would not come, she would probably learn how to forgive him in hell or heaven.
Slowly like his fingers were working against his will, he unlocked his phone and began to text Amara. He knows that she would want to see his surroundings and Gio would be there making it uncomfortable for the little boy to cope.
Ever since he locked them up and promise to come back with Alita but fail, Gio had completely isolated himself from every thing and any body. He would not eat in the dinning as usual or Walk out of his room for once a day.
His door is always locked making him wonder if the boy would die or pass out. Even if he survives it, the level of distrust and unbelief his Amara now have for him is killing him. It is making him look like he can never do anything right leading him back to how his late father used to make him feel.
That sentiment that use to make him feel like he can never live to his expectations. Each time he see Amara cry because Gio refused to talk to her , he would feel that he had failed to be the best dad he had always wanted to become.
Ever since he knew himself, doing things right had never been what he could do. That was how he messed things up with Alita again, not once, but again and again.
After killing her father so he can be recognized by his father, he still went ahead to kill her boyfriend. He kidnapped her, deprived her of her freedom and hit her. As if he had not messed up enough, he starved her, hit her, raped her and torture her.
“It’s okay not to forgive me, Alita” Lu said as he stood up and began to walk around the room.
With his hands behind him, he thought about how he should act to be a good father to Gio and Amara. How to protect them and how to make sure he never force them to prove themselves worthy to get his undivided attention.
As time goes on, Luciano thought Alita would come back for Gio. Accordingly to the little boy, His sister had made sure he gets everything he needs. If she could add to make him special, she would have to to make him feel among like a human in midst of other kids.
Despite his worn out clothes, no good food, one shoe for a year, and barely spend time with his sister, the Love Luciano noticed that Gio has towards Alita is something strong all together.
Lu walked back to his previous position and day on the couch, he was about gulping the last alcohol when Davidson walked back in. Their gaze locked for a while as Lu stopped with the drink half way to his mouth. He dropped the bottle and grinnned.
“A lady said she followed you here” Davidson said boringly “She had been following you for days” he added.
Lu raised his brows, he couldn’t remember getting any appointment with anyone much more allowing the person stalk him for days. His gaze narrowly fiercely as he looked away from Davidson thinking about what to do on the lady’s fate.
His clubs already have enough girls, none of his buyers had ordered and even if they do, he had lots of homeless girls available to sell themselves for money. It even lessen the stress of him going to kidnap them.
“Ignore her” Lu finally said, he decided to go soft.
“She said it’s urgent” Davidson said with an unsure face “Can’t really tell but she is so desperate to meet you” He paused for a few seconds “Her name is Flavia” he added.
Lu’s cheeks dropped, he wonders what’s up with Flavia showing up again. The last time they talked she said goodbye, does she mean she now says goodbye more than once.
Lazily, he lifted the bottle to his lips and gulped.
“Let her in” Lu said
