Two freaking days!
Two whole days since Lu set his eyes on Alita, not mandatory but it’s a bit awkward but something seems missing. He couldn’t get himself to see her since his small talk with Rocco.
Moreover, accepting the fact that he feels something for her is what he does not want to conclude. It’s too early! However, Maybe not normal but Lu felt soft or had been feeling soft since he set his eyes on her again.
The night Ricardo was shot still seems fresh and it freaks him up. Ricardo has been not so useful but just that the supply for the girl has been more than easy. Not just because he didn’t give one of his men time to talk again before he kill, but because the death of the man brought back the connection of his very first kill.
Yes, the very first day he ended a human’s life.
The day he pulled the trigger and initially killed for the first time seems to be a day he will never forget the feeling.
Although he had killed so many people, both his men that snitched, ladies that had been sent to kill him but fail, fathers, mothers, sold children, even babies, and didn’t feel bad or hurt about it.
Not even a freaking feeling about ending someone’s dream.
Ever since his father died in an operation six years ago, it almost seems like the humanity switch in him went off too. All of it, call him a beast, or just something evil and he will accept.
Lu became ruthless, kills without mercy, and never feels bad. He couldn’t handle the fact that he didn’t know his mother and his father died as soon as he start growing bound for him.
As a child, Lu can had never been able to mingle with friends. He is either in a private lesson in school or a private lesson for self-defense. Each day he comes back with new bruises and a story to tell about it, the only good news is that his father never gets to yell at him, he gave him the chance to do whatever he can do right and teach him the one he could not.
‘They are just to make you strong’ his father said to him one time.
But that’s by the way because It’s been twelve years and he still feels bad about lying to him about one thing! It’s the one thing that has come to haunt him, the same thing he is trying to see what to do about but still couldn’t think about how to solve it.
“Anything, Luciano?” He recalled that moment. His father’s voice sounded so loud as if they were back in the same room.
What about his response, At that moment his finger was on the trigger while he stared deep into her green eyes for a few seconds. That fear, that little reddish baby sleeping in her small arms as she shook with her eyes close.
And his response?
“All clear Father”.
When he could see it well. The green terrified eyes now gazing at him and all he did was repeat his reply.
“All clear father”.
The fact that he lied about those kids, not being in the room regardless makes him feel more like an enemy. Like a child that betrayed his father over the cute innocent eyes of a strange little girl he never knew he will see again.
Alita!
That lass is a nightmare and he has to do something about it. Especially now that Rocco knows his greatest secret, what he had hidden from everyone including himself.
“That son of a bitch!” He cussed.
In the past, Lu learns Rocco has betrayed his past boss and uses whatever he can to get what he wants. He also knew Rocco talks too much that’s why he couldn’t trust him enough to tell him about it long ago.
“This is all fucked up!”.
Sluggishly, Lu walked to the room where Alita had been kept. Frank, has no idea why he really wants to see her but the idea of keeping her for long scares him.
It made him remember his weakness, the weakness that his therapist was happy he had finally over until he met her again that night.
His deep weakness: THE HAUNTING GREEN EYES of the poor innocent man he first killed.
The room where Alita was been kept looked odd, it wasn’t the type of room anyone would want to be in except they are used to being alone and in the dark.
No single light in the room and all a person could hear is Alita’s soft snore. With the help of the faint light coming from the roof, the small bed Where her tiny figure curled up could be seen.
Lu stood still watching the restless girl curl more into a tiny ball. Her bareback and arms show goosebumps as she shivers violently, her teeth hit together creating awkward noise of snoring and gnashing.
Guilt!
He couldn’t get himself to look at her without remembering when he had to pull the trigger. His jaw tightened, same as his fists. His gaze home on her messy black hair, that spread across her face and the side of her folded arms she used as the pillow.
She was still putting on her pink bra since the day she attacked Lu with her blouse. It’s been roughly three days since her abduction and two days since he spoke last with her.
“She had rejected the meal we gave her since morning” Someone whispered “All she wants is her little brother but as your ordered, she didn’t see him”
Something that sounds like a snort escaped Lu’s throat as he looked away from the shaking girl. Obviously, there was no heat in the room and she had no blanket. In that kind of season, when it still snows and it’s still the fresh beginning of the year.
Lu stared at the lady for a while then put both hands in his fine Italian suit pocket.
“Is anything the matter, Boss” the girl whispered again, she moved back as Lu walked towards her slowly “I don’t mean to offend you, sir”
Lu scoffed, he pulled off his suit jacket and gave it to her. His expression pales as he removed it and gave it to Felicia who had an awed look on her face.
