Alex’s POV
I stood up from the make believe bed and cleared the dust from my back, I was panicking. I had gotten caught up in the claws of lovemaking and forgotten pack business.
A sound came from below me and I looked over to my right and I saw that Jess was already dressed and looking at me with what looked like judgment in her eyes.
I winced and cleared my throat awkwardly.
“Were you going to leave me sleeping here?” She asked me and even though it wasn’t at all what I had planned I was mute.
I had wanted to leave my complimentary card next to her and hoped she understood the message I was passing across.
I sighed and stretched my hands so I could help her up. She slapped it away and in a split second she was up, toe to toe, she looked like she was going to peel my skin off me.
“Don’t tell me you want to act up. That was great sex,” I said and her hands hit me on the face.
I deserved that.
“I don’t know how bad I have to be for me to attract deadbeats, they come in the form of alphas and even terrorists. I have wanted to do this even before you rejected me the first time, I’ve wanted you so badly. I took the foolish step and actually did it and I enjoyed it. I wake up in the freaking woods and I see you trying to leave!” She went off, her cheeks were flaming red and I was almost scared.
Nobody around here tested a were woman’s rage, they were more docile and slower to anger but a werewoman in her full essence (which was rare) could beat up a pack of werewolves and that was why they were the most warriors.
“Okay…. I want you to calm down,” I whispered and I don’t know if that was the right thing to say because she looked even more angry, more aggravated.
“Fuck you!” She said instead and stormed off, a look of hurt clear in her expression. She looked as graceful as ten ballet dancers and more dangerous than a group of tigers.
“Stupid!” I said to myself and I knew I would have gone after her but I had a visitor to attend to.
It was a little past six, the morning dew was disappearing and it was replaced with an unusually stale morning air, the sun was refusing to shine and I took my time getting to the pack house.
It was my territory and though questioning looks will pass I didn’t really think I cared then. If there was one thing they did well here, it was to monitor all of my affairs and even how I dressed so I understood the glares that followed their rigid greetings.
“Good morning alpha!” One of the guards called out from the gate. He looked puzzled, he knew he hadn’t seen me leave earlier and I was even more concerned about the security affairs of the pack.
I didn’t bother to answer him, I walked in and surprisingly there was no convoy or anything grand. Just a small Peugeot car packed directly in front of the steps leading to the main door.
Normally, it was usually the grand cars and convoy that stood out front but it seems my visitor was simple, simple and arrogant if that was the case.
A Peugeot and parking it where others would’ve, I liked him already. It was not about the ride, it was about the person.
Lampard was standing like a pole at the door, waiting to welcome me. I took the stairs by two and contemplated taking my bath before joining him.
“Welcome alpha, he is here.” He announced and I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Why wouldn’t I know there was a visitor?
A strange car was seated in the driveway.
“I know that. Where is he?” I asked him and he panther behind me, a little too excited about the presence of another.
“I took him to your study.” He answered and I paused.
“Why?” I asked him, a little disrespected that he would take him over to my personal haven.
“I thought he was your close pal.” He responded and I looked at him with irritation.
“Did I tell you that?”
“I believed you would want that, he behaved like he was a close friend.” He said and I wanted to punch him in the eyes.
“Whatever. I shall take my bath and join him later..” I was saying buy a new voice called me back and I stopped again.
“You don’t have to be clean on my account, I already am dirty.” The alpha of the blue moon pack said and I turned around to look at him.
He stood tall at 6’2 and had hair that fell over his face gracefully, his eyes were like the devils and he carried an air of overconfidence around him.
He looked dangerous and angelic at the same time and I knew then that he wasn’t anything like his younger brother. He may look more innocent but there was absolutely nothing innocent about the man standing in front of me.
“Blue moon!” I called him and turned to move closer to where he stood. “Its a pleasure to have you here,”
I wanted to say ‘you look nothing like I expected’ but it was not going to be the point of anything.
“I must say it’s returned, it’s great to visit Duval. I’ve heard every exaggerated and truthful thing about this place.” He said and I was thinking a thousand things at that moment. He sounded so icy, his long and lean stature was different from the cold icy tone he let out.
Why was he even out in the living room when Lampard had said he was in the study. He was daring.
“I hope I cross my borders and visit you sometime.” I responded, he looked at me and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked serious immediately.
“Where’s my brother?”
