Chapter 1495: Silvergold Demonhorn Beast

After running through the green ocean for a while, Leo suddenly felt a sense of unease. This place seemed too quiet. In such a lush area, there should be at least some animals, if not exotic beasts. This was unusual. There was a possibility that this place was the territory of a super-powerful beast, scaring away all other creatures.
If that were the case, it would be troublesome. Leo scanned the surroundings and soon spotted two enormous horns, one gold and one silver. As he focused, the body beneath the horns became clear. It was a beast resembling a water buffalo but dozens of times larger. Its body was covered in colorful patterns that seemed to change color, making it difficult for Leo to distinguish it from the sea of grass earlier.
At that moment, a name popped into Leo’s mind-Silvergold Demonhorn Beast! Feeling the beast’s aura, Leo’s heart skipped a beat. The beast’s presence was as powerful as that of a Spirit King Cultivator. Leo swallowed hard and stopped chasing Nicholas. Nicholas must have seen the beast too, but he didn’t stop running. Watching Nicholas’s large figure, Leo shook his head with a bitter smile. This fool was doomed.
Seeing a Werewolf intrude into its territory and approach it, the Silvergold Demonhorn Beast raised its massive head and let out a deep roar. Nicholas finally stopped, staring at the creature several times his size. His instincts told him that this giant beast was dangerous. The Silvergold Demonhorn Beast’s eyes flashed with killing intent as it saw that its roar only made the intruder stop but not retreat.
The beast stood up from its crouched position and charged at Nicholas. Despite its massive size, it moved incredibly fast, reaching Nicholas in just a few breaths. With the Silvergold Demonhorn Beast in front and Leo behind him, and no cover or hiding places in the grassland, Nicholas had nowhere to escape. As the beast’s enormous gold and silver horns thrust towards him, Nicholas activated his Wolfsbane Plate’s defense.
The damaged Wolfsbane Plate emitted a faint golden light membrane that enveloped Nicholas’s body. The Silvergold Demonhorn Beast’s silver horn pierced through the light membrane as if it were paper, directly impaling Nicholas. He gripped the horn tightly, disbelief and unwillingness in his eyes until the light of life faded completely from them. The beast flicked its head, tossing Nicholas aside. The Wolf Tribe Prince Nicholas was killed instantly by the Silvergold Demonhorn Beast.
The beast raised its head and let out a deep roar, declaring its inviolable dominance. As Leo prepared to quietly retreat, the beast’s eyes locked onto him. A strong sense of danger surged through Leo. Without thinking, he turned and ran, using all his strength to flee. Leo knew very well that with his current cultivation level, he was no match for this beast.
When encountering such a powerful beast, one should never entertain any lucky thoughts; otherwise, they would meet a terrible end. Leo’s speed now surpassed even when he was chasing Nicholas earlier. Seeing Leo flee desperately, the Silvergold Demonhorn Beast’s eyes showed a human-like expression of mockery. Suddenly, the beast disappeared and reappeared tens of meters ahead of Leo, blocking his escape route.
Leo skidded to a halt and looked up at the beast in front of him. The Silvergold Demonhorn Beast didn’t attack immediately but looked at Leo with a teasing gaze, indicating it had some level of intelligence. The mocking look in the beast’s eyes made Leo feel like he was being toyed with, like a cat playing with a mouse.
Various attack methods flashed through Leo’s mind but were quickly dismissed. Against absolute power and strength, any tricks or schemes were useless. After staring at Leo for a few seconds, the beast exhaled heavily and slowly opened its massive mouth. A lightning ball began to form inside its mouth, emitting powerful energy that Leo could feel even from a distance.
As the beast lowered its head, the lightning ball shot out like a bolt of lightning straight at Leo. He leaped back with all his might as the lightning ball exploded where he had just stood, creating a large crater. Another lightning ball formed in the beast’s mouth and shot towards Leo again. He had no choice but to dodge once more as another crater appeared on the ground.
The beast made strange gurgling sounds and seemed to find this amusing. For Leo, this was blatant mockery. Just as he was about to summon his Divine Dragon Sword for one last fight, ten lightning balls appeared around the beast. “Damn it! It wants to play me to death!” Leo’s face changed drastically.
With a flick of its head and tail, the ten lightning balls turned into ten bolts of lightning aimed at Leo. He didn’t think he could withstand all ten at once and turned to run as they exploded behind him, causing him to cough up blood from the shockwaves.
The Silvergold Demonhorn Beast made joyful sounds as it chased after Leo, occasionally launching lightning balls at him. Leo could only lament his bad luck for encountering such a playful yet powerful beast.
Soon, they reached the edge of the grassland, where a massive mountain loomed ahead with a narrow valley running through it as if split by a giant axe.
