“Thank Goodness.” Tiffany mumbled.
“Roman, Brent.” Brenda smiled.
“What kept you guys so long? Tiffany here has been worried sick about you two. Right Tiffany? ” She said, throwing a glance at Tiffany.
“Bitch!” Tiffany cursed in her mind.
Brenda was right, and it made Tiffany irritated of course she knew what Brenda was doing and what she was getting at. After all, two could play the game.
“Yeah I was, Brent is my cousin. But I think you were more worried than I was, I caught you staring out more often, you were obviously searching for them or rather him, yeah ? She smiled, arching her brows.
Brenda was cut off guard by Tiffany’s reply, she wasn’t expecting that. She had no idea, Tiffany caught her in the act. Her attitude was too obvious.
She smiled and nodded awkwardly, “We’re friends after all.”
“Why do I feel like I’m invisible?” Roman groaned, talking to no one in particular.
“Well guys, it’s almost time for the surfing competition. Let’s go before it becomes crowded.” Brenda said, ignoring Roman’s lamenting.
“Surf competition ?” Tiffany arched her brows at Brenda.
“Oh, yes. Virginia’s water wave is superb, pro surfers come here for a competition and guess what ? They are all hot and good looking.
Brent shot Brenda a glare, “Why are you telling her these ? It’s not like she’s going to hook up with them.”
“Of course I know. You don’t need to act like a protective father” Brenda sighed.
Tiffany helped Brenda to gather the edibles she came with. Luckily they found a spot, where they could see everything happening, both the judges and surfers.
Tiffany was happy that she got to witness a surf competition, she only watched it on her Television. Most of the time she went to a beach, it’s just a picnic and playing with the sands, most serfs were just regular teens trying to have fun while dancing with waves.
Soon the premises were crowded. The competition began with the introduction of each surfer with the name written on their surfboard.
Indeed Brenda was right, they were all well built and good looking that their fans were screaming and yelling in excitement.
There were five panels of judges who were ready to score each wave made by each surfer on the scale of one to ten.
They were four in number, each wearing a different color of swim pants.
As the game went on, the surfer on red scored the highest point in the first round. His speed, power and flow were top notch, even his range of maneuvers.
The surfer in Black, was also very good, especially with how tacky and tricky his moves were. At some point he made moves which looked more like dance leaving the audience screaming and clapping for him.
Infact, all the surfers were good with what they were doing.
Finally it was the last round, everyone was eager to know who would win, while some already predicted the winner.
The Black surfer had more fans, he was more handsome than the rest surfer, his tricky dance maneuvers and his winks, they all added to his charms.
Some predicted the white surfer, some the red and some Black.
“Who do you think is going to win ?” Brenda whispered to Tiffany.
“I’m not sure, but I would love the guy in black to win. I mean, he’s too good.” She smiled, her eyes glued on him.
“Awwn, I’m also opting for him to win. Not only is he good, he’s super duper handsome, I mean look at those dark eyes.” She giggled and glanced at Brent, who looked pissed off.
“What about you Brent, do you also think the guy in black would emerge as the winner, he’s got it all.”
“Aren’t you guys hyping this guy so much? He’s got only looks and those swift maneuvers.” Brent hissed.
“Oops! You sound pissed.”
“Of course he is. Can we just wait for the judges to announce the winner ?” Roman chimed in, cutting off Brenda.
Finally the judges were done with their discussion and a winner was announced.
The crowd roared into happiness when the guy in Black was declared winner. He scored ten in the last round, beating the other three surfers.
“Are you that excited he won ?”
Tiffany heard Brent’s voice behind her. She turned to look at him, with a confused stare.
“Of course I am. I knew he was going to win.” She smiled.
“Oh,” Brent arched his brows.
Tiffany was about to say something to Brent, when her phone’s ringtone disrupted it.
“Sorry, I have to take this.”
The environment was so noisy and crowded that Tiffany couldn’t hear what Kelly was saying. So she had to move away a bit from there.
“Hey Kelly, can we talk later? I really can’t hear you.”
Tiffany sighed after she hung up and made her way into the crowd. Just before she could get to where Brent and the others were, someone pulled her hand.
“Hey!”
“Hey ?” Tiffany turned to look at the person that pulled her hand.
The man had a smile etched on his face. His tall figure towering over her. Truth be told, he had good looks but his eyes were malicious as if he could devour her right there.
“Excuse me, and please let go of my hand.” She said, her eyes scanning the man.
“How can I let go of you now that I get to hold you ? I’ve been looking at you since you arrived here with your…, is that your boyfriend ?”
“He’s my cousin.” She knitted her brows
“Good then. He won’t notice you’re gone right ? Let’s have fun for some while.” He said, pulling her away from the crowd.
“Let go of my hand this instant else you’d regret it” Tiffany threatened, slightly hiding the panic in her voice.
“Are you trying to act fierce ? Come on I don’t bite, I’m being nice you know. Come with me, we won’t be long okay”
Tiffany’s eyes scanned through the crowd, wanting to find Brent or Roman, anyone who could help her out.
“Are you scared your cousin would find out ? Don’t worry we won’t take long” he smiled, pulling her further away from the crowd.
