IN reference to leaving and starting off a new life somewhere else, Jasira sold out her boutique and house.
She looked around her boutique one last time, the familiar scent of lavender and vanilla filling the air. The shelves, once adorned with carefully curated items, were now empty, the space echoing with memories of happier times.
She had found a buyer quickly, someone who saw the potential and charm of the boutique and was eager to continue its legacy.
The sale of her house had also gone smoothly. The beautiful, cozy and exquisite home that had once been her sanctuary now belonged to another family, ready to create their own memories within its walls.
Jasira felt a mix of sadness and relief as she handed over the keys, knowing she was leaving behind a part of herself but also moving toward a brighter future.
Her car was packed with the essentials, and she took a deep breath as she closed the trunk. She had sold off her Jeep, but kept the Aston Martin DB11, Jeremy’s gift to her.
This was it now, the start of a new chapter. She had chosen a city several hours away, a place where she could reinvent herself without the shadows of the past lurking around every corner.
She was about getting in when a car screeched to a halt close by and she looked up at it, certain it was someone who knew her, so she dallied behind.
The car door flung open and Tarmah came out, Jasira sighed and leaned on her car.
“Sis,” Tarmah called as she walked up to her and wrapped her arms around her in an embrace.
Jasira smiled.
“I thought you wouldn’t be able to make it again,” she said and Tarmah scoffed.
“Why wouldn’t I? I couldn’t miss this for anything in the world. Wow! I can see you are so ready to leave.”
She nodded.
“As you can see. I can’t even wait to.”
Tarmah smiled, nodding knowingly.
“It’s good. I’m happy you have finally decided to move on.”
She took a deep breath.
“Even though it is hard. You know what?”
“What?”
“You know sometimes people meet not necessarily for forever, but to make things right for each other. I guess meeting Jeremy was for me to make things right for him, and him for me.”
Tarmah nodded in agreement.
“I agree. You are right,” she said.
“Alright, I still have this gift he presented to me, let me use this to keep remembering him,” she said rubbing her palms on the car.
Tarmah smiled.
“It is so thoughtful of him you know.”
“Yeah. So I need to leave now, so I can get there on time.”
“Sure. Call me once you get there,” she said and they hugged again.
“I will,” and with that, she boarded her car and with Tarmah waving at her, she zoomed off, to start up a new chapter of life.
As she drove away, the familiarity of her surroundings gradually gave way to the unknown. She felt a sense of liberation, her heart lighter with each mile. The city’s skyline came into view, and with it, the promise of new beginnings and untapped potential.

Amelia sat by her window, gazing out at the city that had become a reflection of her inner turmoil. She had spent too long mourning the loss of Jeremy, holding onto a hope that he would return and things would go back to the way they were. But it was time to face reality- Jeremy had chosen his path, and she needed to choose hers.
Determined to reclaim her life, Amelia decided it was time to let go of the past and focus on herself. She began by reevaluating her goals and passions. Her job, while stable, no longer fulfilled her. She wanted something more, something that would reignite her spirit.
She decided it was time she faced reality and chase only after what wanted her, and not what doesn’t want her.
Meanwhile, Tarmah was navigating the final year of college. Balancing her studies with the responsibilities that had come with the recent happenings managing with determination and grit.
Her courses in business and management kept her busy, and she found solace in the structured routine of academia.
It was at this period that the two siblings thought it wise and best to settle their rifts and try to get along, it was even Amelia whom had initiated it. It turned out well.
