“Oh?” Morphy raised his brows and a hint of mockery flashed across his eyes. “I think you’re afraid of Ying Xiaoxiao, right?”
“Afraid of her?” Corey became agitated. “I’m not afraid of her! I just don’t want to create trouble for sister-in-law, understand?”
Seeing that Corey was so anxious to explain that his eyes bulged wide open, the corners of Morphy’s eyes twitched and he quickly comforted him, “Okay, okay, I get it.”
“That’s more like it.” Corey nodded in satisfaction.
His reaction was exactly that of someone whose sore spots were being poked at, and yet he still did not believe him.
Morphy sighed softly in his heart. As expected, a man’s IQ would drop when he met a woman.
He was no exception.
Thinking of the woman who had refused him heartlessly, he felt a dull pain in his heart.
Then, when he saw Corey’s current pathetic state, he could not help but feel a sense of desolation, as if he had fallen prey to the same fate as Corey.
“Cousin, let’s not visit sister-in-law tonight. I’ll buy you a drink.”
Hearing this, Corey looked up at him, and his eyes were full of disbelief. “Did the sun rise from the west this morning?”
This was because his cousin had always been in poor health since he was a child. On top of that, his grandfather was strict, so he rarely had a chance to touch alcohol and thus had a low tolerance. Was he joking about treating him to a drink?
How could Morphy possibly not know what he was thinking? He immediately said, “What? Do you want to go? It’s a rare opportunity.”
“Yes, why not?” Corey did not want to miss out on such a good opportunity, but…
“Why do you suddenly not want to visit sister-in-law?” Corey was very curious.
Of course it was because he did not want to run into Yayoi.
However, he could never tell him this, so he smiled and answered, “I’m keeping you company! Otherwise you’d be bored too.”
Corey shook his head with a tut. “I really didn’t expect you to be so considerate.”
Morphy laughed. “I don’t even know what to say to that.”
Corey could not hold back his laughter. “That’s because you’ve never been considerate since you were young.”
Morphy shrugged his shoulders and looked helpless. “You’ve always bullied me, how can I show my affection?”
Thinking of those happy memories of the past, the two of them could not help chuckling.
“We can’t go back anymore.” Morphy sighed sentimentally.
They were no longer able to return to those simple and carefree days.
A trace of nostalgia flashed through Corey’s eyes. “Yeah, we can’t go back anymore.”
The atmosphere became quiet. They sat on both sides of the sofa and reminisced about the beautiful days of the past.
Rosiley was discharged from the hospital.
Sachin deliberately made time to pick her up.
“Have you packed everything?” Sachin saw Lane carrying a luggage bag and asked.
“Yes, Madam has packed them herself,” Lane replied respectfully.
Hearing this, Sachin frowned and looked up at Rosiley, who was walking over. “Didn’t I tell you to get Lane to do the packing? Why did you do it yourself?”
Rosiley glanced at Lane and smiled. “It’s not convenient for a man to do it, it’s better if I do it myself.”
Hearing this, Sachin then realized the problem. A trace of embarrassment colored his handsome face uncontrollably. “I didn’t think it through.”
Rosiley smiled, walked towards him, and took his arm. She tilted her head to look at him and said cheerfully, “Let’s go home! We’re going home!”
