ZACH was shocked, he was never expecting this from Lucas at all.
“You what?” He asked.
“You heard me. Now leave,” Lucas commanded and looked away from him.
Zachary’s eyes glistened with surprise, his emotions at the moment was mixed.
“Why are you backing off?” He began, “aren’t you a Mafia lord, master of the underworld? Why let that woman soften you with little threats -.”
Lucas got up immediately, interrupting and facing him.
“Little threats you say huh?” He asked, “have you been once threatened with your life? Or with secrets which you thought no one knew? Do you have children? Do you even know what it means to have a child let alone two? Do you?” He barked his questions advancing towards Zach as he did.
Zach was shocked, he had never been this shocked in his entire life. As Lucas advanced towards him, he retraced backwards.
“Leave here at once Zach, I am not doing this with you anymore,” he repeated, “and that is final!” He shouted.
Zach, filled with shock and surprise turned to Boogie and he sticker out his lower lip, then pointed towards the door.
He slowly shook his head and turned back to Lucas.
“I am disappointed,” he said as he began walking backwards, “so disappointed,” he concluded, turned around and walked away.
The minute he left, a call came into Lucas’ phone and he jerked up, Boogie noticing his uneasiness, took up the phone and handed it to him.
“Vincent,” he said.
Lucas answered.
“I suppose you guys are home now?” He asked.
“Yes we are but -.”
Lucas frowned.
“What the hell is it?”
“We noticed a particular car following us all the way home,” he replied and Lucas’ heart skipped a beat, he glanced at Boogie.
“What happened? It just followed you guys?” He asked, panic written all over his face.
“Yeah, it just followed us -.”
“Idiot! That could be anything, cars goes same places. Why worry?”
“No Boss. This one was literally following us. Like we decided to be sure and we diverted to several routes, it did same, we even stopped to know if it gonna continue moving but it didn’t, it was following us all through,” he explained.
Lucas’ eyes widened in shock and he shifted on his seat, Boogie himself became uneasy, seeing his Boss’ uneasiness.
“Is anyone harmed?” Lucas asked.
“No Boss, no.”
“So what about the car? Where is it now?”
“The moment we drove into the compound, it zoomed straight ahead and was out of sight.”
Lucas frowned.
“You idiots! You mean you noticed this car trailing you guys and yet you still drove to the house? Why didn’t you drive somewhere else?” He barked.
“We are sorry Boss.”
The frown on his face deepened.
“Sorry for your miserable asses. Take my kids out of the house now. To the smaller penthouse at the neighbouring town, take them there now, now Vincent, now,” he shouted.
“Okay Boss, okay, straightaway,” Vincent said and hissing, Lucas hung up.
“What exactly does she want huh?” He rhetorically asked.
“What is it Boss?” Boogie asked.
“They were followed.”
“Ugh…”
Another call came in instantly, interrupting Boogie. Lucas looked into the phone immediately, it was an unknown number, he answered it at once.
“What the hell do you and your employer still want from me?” He was the first to speak, shouting into the phone, “I have done what you want, I have backed off. Can you now leave my kids alone?” He added.
The laughter that followed was mocking and it got Lucas more angry.
“We want to be sure that you have backed off,” came the voice.
Lucas glanced at Boogie who was just staring at him.
“Sure how? How do you want me to do that? I am no longer on Jeremy’s case, I don’t need him anymore, I won’t disturb him anymore.”
“Send an apology letter.”
“Huh!” Lucas exclaimed.
“That letter should contain words that you won’t threaten him anymore, that you would henceforth stay away from his affairs and that you are deeply sorry for threatening him.”
Lucas was stunned and befuddled. An apology letter? How? Why? Lord Lucas, lord of The Python Confraternity? Send apology letter?
“We do not need your identity, signature or whatever. Just send him an apology letter containing what I have just said.”
“How am I going to do that? I am sending an email,” he said.
“Send it through his mailbox, neatly typed on a paper. Do not send emails, I repeat, do not send emails. You have 24 hours to do so, your time starts now,” and the line went dead.
“Jeez!” Lucas shouted as he removed the phone from his ears.
“Is everything alright?” Boogie asked.
“Jasira is really a Queen Mafia,” he uttered.

Flopping down on the king sized bed Jasira dialed a contact, staring into her phone and chewing on her tongue as she waited for the contact to pick up. He answered immediately and she placed the phone on her ears.
“How is it?” She asked.
“Going smoothly,” the voice answered and she nodded satisfactorily.
“What stage now?”
“We visited the school this morning and acted our little drama. Had them followed and I’m so sure that instilled fear in him because the minute I called, he surrendered.”
She smiled.
“Wonderful!” She applauded.
“Thanks Boss. He really loves those kids, how did you even know they were a good bait?”
She scoffed and shrugged her shoulders.
“His kids are his topmost secret, nobody, I repeat, nobody knows he has kids. They have remained hidden for years and I guess you know why.”
The voice chuckled.
“He is afraid to bring them to the public, owing to the kind of thing he is into,” he said and Jasira nodded.
“He has a lot of enemies, and they would sure want to get to him through them. Beautiful kids though.”
He laughed.
“Thay reminds me, how about their mother? Or was it a surrogate mother who had them?”
She rolled her eyes.
“Well I do not care about that, he doesn’t care either. I guess maybe a baby mama or something. Please that isn’t our concern,” she digressed, “our main concern here is Lucas.”
“Oh yes, yes.”
“And the apology letter?”
“I have done that as well, gave him 24 hours maximum.”
“So we should be expecting it. No emails remember? I want Jeremy to see it, feel it and digest it.”
“Sure Boss, sure. I told him, no emails. We should be expecting it soon,” he said.
Jasira heaved a sigh of relief.
“That was an amazing job, kudos!”
He laughed.
“You have said that a hundred times Boss, I’m beginning to feel flattered.”
She frowned.
“Idiot! That is your cup of tea,” she said and hung up.
“Hmmm,” she sighed the moment she hung up, “this one down, Mr Redford, you are next,” she whispered.
