“CRAP! I told you this wasn’t gonna work, I tried warning you, but you refused to listen,” Zoey ranted as he paced about the room, sad Amelia just sat on her bed, brooding. The gloominess on her face was well obvious.
She had sent for Zoey the moment she reached home from Jeremy’s, and as soon as Zoey had arrived, she didn’t even tell her anything, her gloomy face gave her out and instantly, Zoey detected the plan hadn’t work.
There was silence in the room and it stretched for a while as the duo just kept mute, Zoey thinking of the next line of action, and Amelia still brooding.
Finally, Zoey broke the silence.
“So, now that you have finally gone there to pay him a surprise visit, what did you find out?” She asked.
Amelia winced.
“I ended up being surprised myself,” she said and Zoey’s eyes widened.
“Really? What happened? What did you see?” She asked, getting more interested.
“I… I saw some women stuffs -.”
“Ahhh!” Zoey gasped, cupping her right hand over her mouth and widening her eyes in utmost shock.
“… and these, these women stuffs aren’t mine.”
“Oh my! Does it mean, Jeremy is… is seeing another woman?”
“Obviously!” Amelia exclaimed and burst into cry.
“Oh my! Jeremy, why?” She rhetorically asked, already feeling sad for her friend.
“I didn’t expect him to do this, yeah I know he doesn’t love me but bringing in another woman into his house, into his bedroom, this same bedroom he had asked me never to enter, is a big blow to my face, to Amelia Redford,” she ranted.
“Ohh Ame, I’m sorry about that,” Zoey said and walked up to her, wrapping her arms around her in a hug, and comforting her, “I’m so sorry,” she added.
“The woman isn’t just allowed in his bedroom, she also has her belongings in there, claiming territorial zone, oh Lord!” Amelia exclaimed as her cries deepened.
Zoey didn’t even know what else to say in order to comfort her, she just kept on rubbing her arms on her back and whimpering as well.
“I’m sorry you have to pass through all these, but really Ame, you shouldn’t have gone there at all, you shouldn’t have,” she said.
Amelia burst into more tears.

Lord Lucas was in the balcony overlooking the mansion’s environs and savouring the evening air as it caressed his skin. His two hands were placed on the rail and his long finger nails played a melody on it.
Soon Zach came in from behind him and walked up to him.
“You ask I come over Lord Lucas,” he said as he got to him, taking a position beside him and placing his hands on the rail as well.
Lucas nodded.
“How well our deal?” He asked without even as much as a glance at him.
Zach nodded knowingly.
From my end point everything is okay, I’m still keeping to my part, I haven’t known from yours,” he replied.
Lucas nodded satisfactorily.
“Good. We are this close to getting our victory,” he raised up his left hand and using his index finger and thumb, he demonstrated ‘this close’.
A satisfactory smile immediately played on Zach’s lips, exactly what he wanted to hear.
“The last attack sent cold shivers going down his spine, this time around,” he finally turned to look at Zach, “he just gonna surrender and call for a meeting to know our demands,” he said, a wicked grin on his face.
Zach’s eyes glistened with a glimmer of hope, then without thinking, he opened his mouth wide and burst into uncontrollable laughter, laughing a great deal.
Lucas smiled and looked away from him.
“Amazing isn’t it?” He asked.
“So amazing My Lord,” he said and bowed his head slightly.
Lucas nodded.
“I’m not a mafia lord for nothing Zach, I -“.
“My Lord,” a voice immediately called from behind them, rudely interrupting Lucas, and the two men turned to see who the intruder is.
It was one of Lucas’ boys, he was holding one of his phones and running up to them.
“You… you have a call Lord Lucas,” he said as he got to them.
A little frown appeared on Lucas’ face, he stretched out his right hand and took the ringing phone, the boy bowed and turned to leave.
Lucas looked at the caller id, it said ‘Private Number’, and not just that, it was blocked, the frown on his face deepened.
Who dared call him with a private blocked number? And not just that, call his personal private line, which only a few trusted, the one only a handful of people had? The phone stopped ringing and he hissed.
“Who is that?” Zach asked.
Lucas gave him no answer, he was just staring into the phone and just then, the call came in again.
Intrigued, he answered immediately.
“Lord Lucas DeLuca,” he said, his voice a mix of curiosity and irritation.
“Good evening, Mr. DeLuca,” a distorted voice crackled through the line, robotic and unrecognizable.
“I trust I find you well?” The crackling voice added.
Lucas fisted his left hand.
“Who the hell is this?” He demanded, already irritated by the intrusion.
“Who I am is not important at all. What matters is what I know,” the voice replied smoothly and Lucas frowned.
“You have been pursuing a certain billionaire CEO quite aggressively. I believe his name is Jeremy Petersons.”
Lucas’ eyes narrowed, he glanced at Zach who was just staring at him. The talk of the devil, but who the hell was this? How did he know he was after Jeremy, that young brat?
“What about Petersons?” Lucas asked, his tone deadly calm.
At the mention of Petersons, Zach leaned forward, his eyes widened, his curiosity increased.
“You are going to leave him alone,” the voice stated, the robotic modulation doing nothing to mask the steel in the words.
“You will cease all operations against him, effective immediately.”
Lucas chuckled, a low, menacing sound. “And why would I do that?” He asked.
“Because if you don’t, the consequences will be dire,” the voice said, unflinching.
“You idiot! Get off my phone this minute,” he growled.
“The last time you will be warned,” the caller continued.
“Fool!” Lucas barked and immediately hung up.
“Who the hell was that? Heard him made mention of our target,” Zach asked.
“We have no time to waste, we are launching the attack earlier than planned,” he said and walked out of the balcony, Zach followed.
