AS soon as Jeremy settled down into his swivel chair at his office one morning, he rang Jasira immediately. Due to some emergency, he didn’t text her that morning as usual.
Jasira was still sleeping and snoring when her phone began ringing, she first opened her left eye, followed by the right eye, then she picked up the phone.
Yawning lazily she looked into it, and then answered it.
“Beautiful? Don’t tell me you were still sleeping”, he was the first to speak into the phone.
She yawned again, now noisily that even Jeremy could hear her through the phone.
He chuckled.
“Oh my! You are even yawning more loudly so I can confirm my fears myself right?”
She laughed wearily.
“Babe, good morning”, she greeted.
“Good morning princess, how was your night?” He asked and at this juncture, the door to his office opened and Carrie sauntered in, carrying with her some paperwork.
His last words filtered into her ears and she went shocked, goosebumps all over.
“Well, as you can see, my night was fine. How about you?” Jasira asked sitting turning over to face the ceiling.
“It was good as long as yours was”, he said and she chuckled.
Carrie who was by now checking out other files on the desk heard the chuckle and immediately confirmed that it was from a female.
She didn’t know what to feel at the moment anymore. Sad, confused, worried, puzzled, jealous, jeez! A lot of mixed feelings.
Anyways, she did her work quietly.
“So if mine wasn’t fine then yours wouldn’t, right?”
“Exactly princess. Well, I’m already at work, do and get your ass up from that bed and working, right now, I mean it” he said and she laughed this time.
“Okay His Royal Majesty”, she replied and he chuckled.
Carrie grew more restless listening to their conversations, there was no doubt, he was talking to his lover.
Soon she finished up ready to leave, but he was still on the phone, she had wanted to at least, speak with him. Sadly, she turned and left the office.
“How is your night going to be?” Jeremy asked.
Jasira sighed.
“Ugh, another date? Three days ago isn’t that far”.
He laughed.
“Shush! Hear me out first” he said.
“Okay, my night is gonna be just fine. What is it?” She asked.
“I want you to come spend the night at my place”.
“Huh!” She sat up instantly, her eyes widened in shock.
“I should what?”
Jeremy was stunned.
“Is anything wrong with that?” He asked.
“Everything is wrong with it”.
His eyelids twitched.
“Really? What if I may ask? I stay alone, you are aware of that, so no intruders if that is your fear, I don’t receive visitors except I have been pre informed, I have maids ready to be at your beck and call, I have guards and your security is guaranteed, you come and the first thing the next morning, you are off. So, what is wrong?”
She sighed. What a long explanation.
“Hmm, fine”, she said and rolled her eyes.
“Please, I want to have you around me in my house, I want to feel your presence at home”, he persisted.
She scoffed.
“Fine, what time?”
“7pm on the dot a chauffeur would be coming to pick you up”.
“There you go again, I can come over myself, I just needed the time”, she said and he smiled.
“If that is what my lady wants, who am I to say no to her”.
She burst into laughter, laughing incoherently.
“Oh please, sweet tongued”.
“So is that a yes? Am I seeing you tonight?”
“Yeah”.
“Bravo! We will have dinner, don’t bother having dinner before coming”, he added.
“Oh God!” She gushed.
“What?”
“Nothing, just thanking God for giving me a caring man like you”, she said and smiles splitted his face.
“Alright then, do have a nice day. See you 7pm”.
“You too babe, have a trouble free day at work and see you in the evening as well”.
“Bye love”, and he hung up.

The night drew nigh and Jasira immediately began preparing to leave, packing up a few things into her large handbag, since she was going to spend the night.
That day had been stressful, as she had spent it mobilizing men for a mission which was to take place few days to come.
She was still doing her packup when her door flew open and her father barged in. Jeez! She stood up with a start. She wasn’t expecting him.
“Father”, she called and continued her packing, “you scared me”, she added as she began zipping up her bag.
Lord Lucas took a stand beside her and watched her closely, saying nothing. He noticed she had dressed up, like she was heading out, and also noticed her packing up things.
“Going somewhere?” He asked.
“As you can see dad, yes”, she replied and walked to the dressing mirror.
“Hmm, I really do see. Where are you going?”
She looked up at him.
“Dad?”
“Well I’m sorry I asked, I don’t understand you these days.
She laughed and looked away, powdering her face with a face pad.
“Well Dad you don’t need to. No one ever gets to understand a Mafia Queen. I was at the field today, mobilizing men for the Hilton mission, I didn’t see you, so would I say I don’t understand you too?” She laughed.
He scoffed and ignored her question.
“You skipped dinner, why?”
“Well you should know it’s because wherever I’m going, I’m gonna have dinner there”, she replied.
Suddenly, something hit him and a small smile appeared on his face.
“When did you complete the mission for Gibson?” He asked and Jasira turned to him.
“Gibson?”
He nodded.
“Yes Gibson, Honourable Richmond’s son”.
“That was a week ago, anything?” She picked up her brush and began brushing her hair.
The smile on his face deepened.
“No little cat, nothing”.
As far as he was concerned, maybe Jasira had begun seeing him, he was saying so because Honourable Richmond had once told him that his son Gibson confessed his love for Jasira, so maybe they were trying to start up things.
He smiled again, well he was going to be patient with her, and allow her say what he wanted to hear herself, he wasn’t going to force it out of her.
So, it was this. Yes, this definitely gonna be the reason of her recent behaviour, Gibson. He almost clapped his hands.
“So father, can you let me now do my stuff?” She asked having done brushing her hair.
“Oh yes, yes, girl, enjoy. Let me leave you do your thing”, he said and turned to leave.
“Thank you”, she said, putting up a face laced with a snicker.
As soon as he left, she picked up her bag, phone and car key and sauntered out of her room, heading for the parking lot.
