SHOCK was an understatement as to what Nikky felt at that moment, she was more than shocked.
“Sorry momma, but did you just say you would try to be there?” She asked to be sure.
“Well you heard me. This meeting is over now please, I need some privacy,” she said with authority.
Nikky immediately stood upright and moved back a little bit.
“Fine Boss,” and with that, she turned and walked out of the study.
It wasn’t even up to thirty minutes Nikky left, that a call came into Jasira’s phone. Slowly her eyes darted towards it, it was Jeremy obviously.
She picked up.
“Hi dear.”
“Beautiful,” his romantic baritone called, and she couldn’t help but smile, “are you set now?” He asked.
She quickly looked around her, her small black Versace handbag was beside her on the desk, her car keys beside it, and she was already dressed up. What else?
“All set. Are you coming to pick me up?” She asked.
He chuckled, she had always never wanted him to, what changed. He shrugged his shoulders.
“If you wish.”
She laughed.
“I wish. I will text you my location, so you can come get me there,” she said.
He smiled, first time ever.
“I will be glad to my princess,” he said.
Few minutes later saw Jeremy driving into Daffodils Bloom Pharmaceuticals and Mall. As soon as Jasira sighted his car from where she had sat waiting, she got up and walked to the car.
Negotiating a bend Jeremy saw his world already standing next to his car and he smiled. He finally halted and got down, his smiling face changed instantly.
“Hey baby, you don’t look okay, what is wrong?” He asked.
She managed a smile.
“I’m fine, can we go now?”
“Nope. You know what? Let’s go to a cool place and have a little talk over some plates of food and a few drinks,” he said and immediately began walking to the other side of the car to open the door.
Jasira couldn’t say a word, she was just watching him.
“Alright, whatever you want,” she gave in.
They arrived their destination a few minutes later and was now sitting, their orders already served.
The dim lighting and soft music in their secluded corner created an intimate atmosphere, but at that moment, her mind wasn’t in it.
Again, Jeremy noticed her distant look and reached across the table, taking her hand.
“Jasy, what is wrong?” He asked.
She couldn’t escape the question this time, she sighed, struggling to find the right words to use.
“It is just… everything. The business, the people depending on me. I have been slipping, Jeremy, and everyone can see it.”
He squeezed her hand gently.
“You are human, Jasy. You can’t carry the weight of the world on your shoulders all the time. Maybe it’s time to delegate more, to trust your… your people, whoever it is.”
She sighed again, hiding things from him?
“I have always been the one in control,” she whispered, more to herself than to him.
“I don’t get,” he said and she quickly realized herself.
“Oh sorry, I meant, trying to fit into this, this thing is becoming hard for me, so hard,” she said.
“But why if I may ask?”
Her eyes flickered, staring back at him.
“You won’t understand Jeremy,” was all she could say.
“Whatever it is, just do not ignore your happiness,” he said.
His words resonated with her, a soothing balm to her troubled mind. For the first time, Jasira allowed herself to consider a different way of living, one where she didn’t have to be the infallible Mafia Queen at every moment.
She sighed deeply.
“Finish up and let’s go check out the house, I already paid it for you,” he said and she gasped, dropping her cutleries.
“You what? Did I ask you to?” She asked.
“It’s nothing princess, finish up and let’s leave here,” he said.
“But why would you? Do you know if I would like it?”
He shrugged his shoulders.
“That is exactly what I was thinking as I was making the purchase but come on, I know what suits my baby perfectly,” he winked.
“Hmm, be doing the most,” she said, smiling.

“No, don’t say that,” shouted Zoey as she followed Amelia behind briskly, barging into the latter’s room.
They had just returned from a shopping spree as usual, and through out the shopping, Amelia had been feeding Zoey on what she intends to do next if she doesn’t hear from Jeremy.
“Why?” She questioned, dropping her shopping bags on the bed carelessly.
“Why would you?” Zoey fired back.
“Oh please Zoey, for months now I have been waiting for Jeremy’s call, before I can even visit him, who the hell does that?” She ranted, “no, who waits for her fiance’s call or invite before she can see him, or even pay a visit?” She rhetorically asked.
Zoey sighed, obviously, the answer was someone does, and it was her, Amelia, but she dared not say it out.
“Hold on,” Amelia said and faced her, “why are you against me from paying him a visit? Do you want to snatch my man, or have you snatched him?” She shouted.
Zoey was taken aback, what nonsense.
“Excuse you?” She asked.
“I need to know, jokes apart.”
“Amelia are you okay? Why would you ask that? Why would you even think of that?” She asked with a disgust look on her face.
“Then why are you asking me not to pay him a visit? But wait for months on end for his invite just like he had said?” She asked.
Zoey shrugged her shoulders.
“I am only just doing what he wants exactly, you know he is the boss here.”
“To hell with the boss, I am also a boss remember?”
“Well well, Ame, you know I would always support you in everything you do, I just do not want you to do what you gonna regret later on.”
“I am never gonna regret this, I know what I’m doing.”
“Okay, good. So how do you intend to get into his bedroom, or you aren’t gonna enter there?”
“Of course I will be there, that is the main reason I wanna go. I just want to get him unawares, get in there and see whatever it is that he is hiding from me.”
“Alright, so how do you intend to do it and when? You know his bedroom is restricted.”
A snicker appeared on her face instantly.
“Do you take me for a fool?” She questioned, chewing on her tongue.
Zoey’s eyes widened.
“What?”
“I have cloned his security gadgets.”
“What!” Zoey gasped.
