THE gentle breeze in the garden at Lord Lucario’s mansion pierced through Jasira’s smooth skin, caressing it gently, as she walked along the terrace, touching the shrubs and flowers as she walked.
She was putting on a white silk gown and so her gown obeyed nature as it flapped and flapped under the pressure of the breeze.
As she did, her mind ran wild and far, thinking about so many things, but one preoccupied her thoughts the most, and that was about Jeremy.
Since the day they were supposed to meet, their supposed date, he hadn’t texted or called, like he had been muting her, and this had kept her worried sick.
Always thinking, worrying, and sometimes angry at herself for pulling such a stunt at him.
She hissed as she plucked off a white rose flower.
“Stupid stunt!”, She cussed.
“Oh my! Why am I even worried? Am I supposed to?” She asked herself and then flung the flower away.
“Ahhhh! Well well, I think I should”, she muttered, waving her head sideways and folding her arms.
“It’s time I own up and tell myself the truth, I think I’m feeling something for him, but jeez! I’m not supposed to, good Lord!”, she exclaimed, splaying her hands on her face.
Slowly she took them away and stared into space.
“Alright, I am from the Mafia, my family has been Mafia my whole life, I had even been a whore from an early age. He is a CEO of a big company, a CEO with clean records, betrothed to an heiress, and they are both compatible, but with me, we aren’t. I’m not supposed to have anything to do with him at all, I’m not”, she cried.
“Lord please help me, I can’t deal with this, it’s beyond me”, she muttered and exhaled deeply.
“Well, I think I should just move along with the game, as time goes on, I will know what to do. Besides, he wants me, I know, moreso, I think I want him too, goodness! I would have to tender an apology and ask for another date to be set”, she said, nodding her head as she did, and then abruptly, she turned to head for her room.
As she was walking out of the garden, Mico ran up to her from behind, the iPad in his hands as usual.
“Boss?”, He called as he reached her and began walking beside her.
“Speak!”, She said.
“Uhm, you do not really have any schedule except for Mr Scott -“.
“Mr who?”, She asked and halted, turning to him.
He swallowed hard and looked downwards.
“Yeah, Mr Scott”, he replied.
She looked away from him and continued walking.
“What does he want?”, She asked.
“He is wanting to have another meeting with you Boss”, he replied.
Jasira scoffed.
“He must be sick in the head! Is that the only thing for me?”, She asked.
He nodded.
“Yes Boss, nothing again for now”, he replied.
By now, they had already gotten into the mansion, walking along the hallway.
“You may go”, she said and he bowed, then turned and walked away.
Jasira then headed for her room. As soon as she got in, she reached out for her phone which laid on the sofa, and she sat down.
Still fidgeting and unsure, she typed and sent an apology text to Jeremy and then jumped into her bed, and before she knew it, sleep took hold of her.

“Are you okay Scott? No, are you really sure that you are okay?”, Mr Redford barked at Scott as he sat on the seat opposite him, they were at the office.
“Boss -“.
“Don’t boss me”, he interrupted roughly, “why would you do that? Stooping so low as to go ask that bitch to arrange another meeting. Do you know what that indicates? Are you begging her to work for you huh?”, He continued lashing out at Scott.
Just few minutes ago, Scott had walked into his office and told him of the recent developments.
“Alright now look, what happened? She declined, she declined it yet again”, he said and Scott sighed painfully, splaying his left hand on his forehead.
Mr Redford was about lashing out again when the intercom at the right side of his large desk buzzed and he turned towards it.
It continued buzzing and he ignored it, then picked up his phone, dialed a contact and it was picked instantly.
“I do not want to entertain any visitors right now”, he barked into the phone, and immediately hung up, without waiting for a reply.
Then he turned to Scott.
“Tell me Scott, why did you do that? And without my consent?”, He asked.
He sighed again.
“Boss, I was only doing my job. This was something you entrusted into my hands, and I had to deliver. Yes I know the lady declined at first but I just had to try again, topping up the money this time, maybe she could change her mind, you know”, he replied shrugging his shoulders.
Mr Redford laughed sarcastically.
“And that was what she did”, he said, still laughing.
“Huh?”.
“Yeah, that was what she did, she changed her mind right?”.
Scott looked away.
“You know what? This whole idea was a charade, we need to do this ourselves and I’m gonna start from here”, he said and took out a paper and a pen, as Scott watched with his eyes wide opened.

Jeremy had just alighted from his car and was looking into his phone as he walked towards the mansion.
Nathan walked ahead of him, already heading into the mansion with his suit jacket, iPad and some phones.
He saw a popped up notification and he looked at it, it was a text from Jasira, and a small smile played on his lips as she scoffed.
“Really? Let’s see what she has for us”, he said and was about tapping on the text when one of the security guards ran up to him, a white envelope in his hands.
“Boss?”, He called as he bowed.
Jeremy looked away from his phone and turned to him.
“What is it?”, He asked.
“Welcome Boss. You have a letter, I got it from the mailbox early this evening”, he said stretching out the envelope to him.
