TARMAH was more than shocked on seeing Carrie right there at the dining, gisting and chatting away with Jeremy, freely laughing and laughing non stop. She turned to Jeremy, he had just a little smile on his face.
Slowly and quietly, she proceeded further into the room, none of them had still taken note of her presence, their sitting positions wouldn’t even let them, let alone the conversation they were so engrossed in.
“Ugh ugh, so you know what?”, Carrie enthused and Jeremy snorted.
That was when Tarmah coughed, jolting them and they both snapped their heads at her.
“Oh! Tarmah”, it was Jeremy who spoke first.
A frown appeared on Carrie’s face and she scoffed, scowling at Tarmah who by now was already walking towards Jeremy.
She sneered at Carrie and walked up to Jeremy.
“Hi biggest bro”, she smiled, waving at him, then she turned to Carrie and sneered again.
“Hi,… assistant”, she added the last word lowly, then turned back to Jeremy.
Carrie scoffed.
“Hi…”, she shortly replied and looked away, obviously angry at the intruder putting an abrupt end to the seemingly sweet chit chat she was having with Jeremy, and not just that, this was his supposed fiancee’s sister, ahh.
Angrily, she dropped the plastic mug in her hand on the table with a bang making the other duo to turn to her.
She noticed their curious looks and rolled her eyes.
“Oh, sorry about that”, she said carelessly and got up.
“Hey, you didn’t tell me you were coming”, Jeremy said to Tarmah and she made a low howling sound under her breath.
“I am not supposed to bro”, she replied non chalantly glancing at Carrie, she already busied herself clearing up the dining table.
Jeremy sighed and shrugged his shoulders, looking away.
“Well, you are right though…”, he trailed off as she hurriedly brought her mouth closer to his ears, and whispered in low tunes.
“Can you come with me please? I have something to discuss”, she said and then turned to walk out of the dining, Jeremy just sat on still, watching her walk away.
On getting to the door she glanced again at Carrie through the corner of her eyes, and true to her expectations, Carrie was looking at them.
She finally walked out the door and that was when Jeremy shoved back his seat, and got up. Carrie frowned again.
“Going somewhere?”, she asked as she was neatly arranging the table clothes on the table.
“Will be right back”, he replied and walked up to the door, then he stopped, and turned to her.
“And oh! Don’t forget to get back to work, I know it’s already almost late but there are things you can tidy up before the closing hour”, he said and walked out.
“Huh…”, her mouth fell open in shock, get back to work? Really? They weren’t done chatting.
“Hmmm”, she growled in anger and flung away the table napkin in her hand, it landed on the wall adjacent to her and fell on the floor.
Jeremy got to the hallway leading to his room and found Tarmah standing close by, he hastened his footsteps and got to her.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting”, he said as he placed his thumb on the doorknob, and the door opened.
Tarmah sighed in relief.
“Fine”, she replied shortly and walked into the room, and he followed.
“Okay, so what is this all about? What is it you want to discuss with me?”, he asked closing the door behind him.
Tarmah flopped down on the couch, relaxing her back on the seat.
“I hope the party yesterday went well?”, she asked and Jeremy sighed, walking to the bed.
“Is that a question or a statement?”, he asked and sat down.
She shrugged.
“Whatever. I think you should go extra length in order to get your lady, she is willing to hear you out now”, she said and folded her arms.
“Huh…”, he mouthed and his eyes widened in astonishment, as he looked her over.
“How do you mean? How can you tell?”, he asked.
“I know what I am saying bro. I talked to her, and I knew it. You just have to try more harder, she is gonna play to your side now”, she replied and shoved her right hand into the bulging pocket of her trouser and took out her phone.
“Woah! You serious?”, he asked.
“I’m just gonna send you the link to her social media handles, you should engage her on the messenger and see the outcome. I will be returning to school soon”, she said, her eyes on her phone as she talked.
“Ugh…”, he splayed his left hand on her forehead and mouthed, “when?”, he asked.
She looked up.
“A week from now”, she replied, “I already sent the link. I have tried my best bro, you should go on from here”, she said and got up.
“You did a whole lot for me Tarm, a whole lot”, he said and got up as well, “I’m grateful”, he added.
Tarmah nodded.
“Although sometimes I feel I’m not doing the right thing, I’m tryna handover what is meant for my sister, in quote, her finance to someone else, I feel like I’m stabbing her”, she said, her voice was so low.
“Oh come on…”, he said and closed the gap between them, “you aren’t okay? You are only doing the right thing, you are even helping her out, because going into a marriage where there is no love is hell on earth, no one would ever be happy in such marriage, okay? She deserves someone who gonna love and cherish her like she expects me to. So understand you aren’t hurting your sister, but doing her good, and I as well”, he concluded.
She nodded.
“I know actually, I was only just expressing myself, I know I’m actually doing her good, I know”, she sighed.
“Do not feel guilty little sis”, he said and she laughed.
“Guilty? Oh come on, I’m not a thief, neither am I a prisoner”, she said and he laughed, she joined him and they both laughed.
“I would do just as you say, and keep you posted on any new development”, he said and winked, she winked too, then smiled.
“Alright bro, less I forget what is that your assistant, that Carrie girl doing here? Wearing your clothes?”, she asked, widening her eyes as she did.
“Oh her? She only found out I didn’t turn up at work today and only came down to visit, nothing more. As for the clothes, come on, that’s nothing”, he said and turned to walk back to the bed.
“You better be careful with her bro, these ladies trying so hard to get you into their pants, they are dangerous and unpredictable”, she said.
He laughed.
“Oh come off it”, he waved his right hand, “not for me, not for Jeremy”, he said laughing.
She shrugged.
“If you say so”, she replied and turned to leave, “catch you later”, and she turned the door knob, pulled back the door and walked away.
As soon as she left, Jeremy picked up his phone which laid on the bed beside him, he couldn’t wait to send his beautiful lady a direct message.

As soon as Tarmah got home, she went straight into the mansion, ignoring her dad’s call as he called on her from the garden.
She got to the living room and saw Amelia sitted on the comfy couch and watching at the television, and sipping wine.
She halted and began staring at her. Amelia noticed her presence and her facial expression changed instantly, she now looked angry.
Tarmah stood there staring at her for seconds that she even became uncomfortable.
“What is it? Go ahead and blast another, just talk, what?”, Amelia suddenly asked, pouring out the anger in her.
Tarmah smiled and turned to walk up to her.
“You know sometimes I wonder, and just wonder… you know you actually do think yourself wise, like so wise and smart, but you just do not know anything”, she said.
“Tarmah? Do not start again”, she said and sat up.
Tarmah laughed.
“What you gonna do? Well, let me just help your life a little bit”, she said and shoved her hands into the bulging pockets of her trouser.
“You both were together at the party yesterday right? The news is circulating all around the globe that you both are an item and you really do think so? Huh?”, she bursted into laughter.
Amelia fumed.
“Yeah we are, do you have a problem with that?”, she asked.
“Oh! No, not at all honey, not at all. I only have problem with you, forcing love, forcing yourself on a young man who doesn’t love you. Come on, why the heck?”, she asked.
Amelia snorted and shook her head.
“I do not have that luxury of time to spend bantering words with you. I would advise you to respect yourself, and get out of my sight, because I won’t be talking to you”, she said and made a long hissing sound, then picked up the remote control lying beside her and turned to the television.
“Oh really? You won’t be talking to me? Now, I would make you do. You are here sitted, watching the television and cooling off, but do you know who is right there in your supposed fiance’s house, spending time with him?”, she asked and slowly, Amelia turned to her.
She snorted and looked away.
“What the hell are you talking about?”, Amelia asked.
Tarmah turned to her.
“You wouldn’t believe it. I saw Carrie, his assistant right there in his mansion and mind you, this wasn’t for business, she was dressed casually, and dressed in his clothes”.
“What!”, Amelia exclaimed.
