FOR a split second Amelia tried to comprehend Jeremy, and what he has just said. That she should what? Apologize to that lady? And get her a new phone? Hahaha, she felt like laughing out, it sounded funny.
Infact, she couldn’t hold it anymore, she laughed out, laughing non-stop and Jeremy looked up at her, wondering what the hell was funny.
“Do I look like a clown to you dear Amelia?”, his cold voice asked, “do I look like a comedian to you?”, he demanded.
Slowly, she stopped laughing, and shook her head in the negation.
“No dear, you don’t. But what you just said sounded funny. That I should apologize and get her a new phone?”, she sat down beside him, “come on J baby, it isn’t possible. I can’t possibly do that”, she said, shaking her head.
“You what?”, he snorted. She didn’t say anything to him but was just flickering her eyelids.
Jeremy had to stop what he was doing and sighed deeply, then he properly turned to her.
“Hey girlie, if you really do not want this relationship we are trying to work out to get worst, then disobey my orders”, he softly said and turned back to his work.
What! Amelia was stunned. But hold on a minute, why the hell was he so concerned on her apologizing, and getting this lady a new phone, huh? Why? Has he had an encounter with her before?
She sighed.
“Je…”, she tried to talk and he interrupted her.
“I hope you realize what I mean? Just a few words on social media, a few words to the press, and you are done for”, he said, his eyes still fixed on the laptop as he spoke, not even bothering to look at her.
She cringed at these words of his. Jeez!
“Jeremy why are you doing this? What did I ever do to deserve this huh?”, she asked in a low voice.
He abruptly turned to her.
“For being rude huh, for being so rude and ruthless to a fellow lady”, he said and then sat up straight, looking at her.
“No more explanations, no more thing to talk about again, just go, and do what I say you should”, he said and turned back to his work.
She sat there still, looking at him and frowning, breathing in a rapid succession. She made no move to leave, but just sat there gazing at him, her heart so saddened.
Then after a few minutes, he spoke out again, this time in a more harsh manner, and his voice a pitch higher.
“I said leave”, he ordered and in fear, she scrambled to her feet and left the room, banging the door in fury.
He sighed. The pest has gone.
Amelia rushed out of his room and into her car, angrily flinging her bag to the backseat and revving the car into motion.
As she drove, she reminisced over what just transpired. When she was happily thinking he had called her for something sweet, but no, it was to shatter her heart the more, and rip it into pieces.
She was hot angry. But who the hell was that lady to him? Does he even know who she is? That she is a member of a mafia organisation? People he has tried to avoid like poison?
Well, she shook her head. She was sure nothing could be going on between them, maybe he asked her to do it as courtesy demands.
Few minutes later, she was home, and before alighting, she immediately put a call across to Zoey, who picked up at the first ring.
“Hey girlie, CEO’s fiancee, how you doing?”, Zoey was the first to speak into the phone.
Amelia frowned, CEO’s fiancee indeed. With what just happened? Hmph.
“Are you busy?”, she asked.
There was a muffling sound at the other end at first, then Zoey replied.
“Ugh, not really. Any qualms?”, she asked.
“Please just come over”, she said and stretched out her hand towards the backseat to take her bag.
“Huh?”, she gasped, “come over? Like now?”.
“Yeah, now. I am at home”, Amelia said and immediately hung up, so she wouldn’t have to change the plans.
Then she alighted from the car and briskly walked into the mansion.
She met Tarmah as she took the stairs and her face recoiled, so she was still around.
“Hey big sis”, Tarmah called, waving at her.
Amelia looked away, and grunted a reply. She just wasn’t ready for her this time, all she needed was to rush up to her room and await Zoey, but trust Tarmah, she wouldn’t budge.
“I hope you are doing well?”, she stopped to ask, “I mean doing well with trying to force yourself on a man?”, she added.
“You must be stupid Tarmah”, Amelia blurted and stopped in her tracks.
Tarmah laughed sarcastically.
“What are you still doing here by the way? Won’t you go back to school?”, she asked, angrily.
“Nope, I actually came home to teach you how to force a man on you very well”, she replied, using her hands to demonstrate, and mockingly laughing at her.
This angered Amelia no end, having no word to say to her. She only watched her derogatorily and then turned, heading for her room.
“Look at her, stupid sister”, she said and turned to leave too, and thier mother halted her.
“No child, you do not call her that. She is your elder sister”, Mrs Redford said, she was standing at the base of the stairs, listening to their exchanging arguments all the while.
Tarmah saw her and sighed.
“I’m sorry mum”, she said walking down the stairs slowly.
“No matter what she does, you do not talk to her like that”, Mrs Redford came again.
“It’s okay mummy, I said I have heard”, by now she was already at the last step, and then without thinking, she jumped on her mother in a hug.
“Mummy”, she called, chuckling.
Mrs Redford made a face, trying to hold herself from falling.
“Don’t get me down on the floor Tam”, she said.
Tarmah laughed.
“You know I love you momma”, she said and pecked her on the cheek.
“Mmm”, she nodded and smiled.
Just then, they noticed the large entrance door open and someone entered, a lady.
It was a visitor, but they were certainly sure it was a frequent one otherwise, she wouldn’t have been allowed in by the guards at the gate even.
“Hey mum, hey Tarmah”, the lady called as she got into view and instantly, they realized it was Zoey, Amelia’s best friend.
“Oh! Zoey? How are you?”, Mrs Redford asked as Zoey walked up to her and hugged her.
“I’m doing great mummy”, she replied, then disengaged from the hug.
“How are your parents?”, she added.
“They are fine ma, they are fine”, she replied and turned to Tarmah who just stood waiting for them to finish up.
“Hey Tammy, how are you doing?”, she asked.
Tarmah smiled and hugged her.
“I’m fine Zoey, and you?”, she asked.
Zoey nodded.
“Good. Ugh, I do hope Amelia is in”, she said and begin to take the stairs.
“Yeah. She had asked you to come right?”, Tarmah asked.
She nodded.
“Oh yeah, she actually did. See you later on momma”, she replied and waved at Mrs Redford who smiled in response.
Tarmah smiled mischievously as she watched her leave, who knows what she wants to discuss with her.
She turned to her mother and winked.
“Catch you later mum”, and with speed like that of a man, she climbed the stairs.
Mrs Redford sighed.
“Don’t go making trouble”, she called after her.
She laughed.
“Did I ever said I would?”, she asked rhetorically as she continued ascending the stairs.
Amelia was sitting on the bed when a soft knock came on the door. It opened and Zoey entered.
She was much surprised to see Amelia sitting on the bed bent, and lost in her thoughts, what the hell could she be thinking about?
Briskly, she walked up to her and sat beside her.
“I’m here, come on”, she announced and touched her cheek.
Amelia sighed and sat up properly. She initially refused saying anything to her. Wondering how best she could bring this up, literally, she felt ashamed to.
“Come on, you asked me to come and I did. Would you now keep me mute after seeing me?”, she asked.
“Jeremy asked me to see him, as soon as I got home from the mall”, she said and Zoey’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“Really? Wow! So tell me, what did he call you for? Come on girl, tell me”, she chuckled.
Amelia snorted, she herself wished it was something worth saying.
“Don’t be happy for me yet girl, wait and listen”, she said to her and in a daze, Zoey stopped, the smiles on her face slowly disappeared.
“Okay, so what was it?”, she asked.
“You wouldn’t believe what that Jeremy, had called me for”, she said and twisted her lips.
Zoey nodded impatiently.
“Go on, talk I’m listening”, she said and nudged her.
“That video went viral”, she blurted, let her begin from there.
Zoey was surprised and befuddled.
“What video?”, she asked.
“The brawl at the mall, you know people had gathered and taken videos of it. It went viral and he happened to see it”.
“What!”, Zoey lowly exclaimed and cupped her left hand over her mouth, looking at Amelia with her eyes widened in shock.
“You mean Jeremy saw that video?”, she asked.
Amelia sighed and folded her arms.
“He actually gave me the phone to see it for myself, and I was shocked, so shocked to the bones”, she said.
“Awwwwn! Did he say anything?”, she asked.
“He first berated me for exchanging words with a lady in public, considering my status”, she shrugged her shoulders.
Zoey nodded.
“Yeah, that is expected, I told you that, didn’t I?”, she rhetorically asked.
Amelia ignored that and continued.
“Then came the most shocking of all, the reason I called you to come over…”, she paused and splayed her palms on her face.
“Yes, go on”, Zoey said nodding her head.
There was silence for a few seconds, then she removed her palms from her face and dropped the bombshell.
“He asked me to apologize to that lady, and get her a new phone, the exact one I had smashed”, she said in a rush.
“Huh? That you should do what?”, Zoey asked unbelievably.
She shook her head.
“You heard me right. I should tender an apology to her, then get her a new phone”, she said.
Zoey was mad, she couldn’t believe it, she looked away, trying to assimilate what she has just heard.
“Is… is Jeremy okay?”, she asked, “I’m sorry to ask, but is he really normal? Like with his senses? Why would he say that?”, she rhetorically asked.
“He is actually fine dears, Jeremy is perfectly okay”, a voice answered from the door, and they were startled.
They turned towards the door and saw Tarmah coming in. She had been eavesdropping.
A frown appeared on Amelia’s face instantly and she shifted on where she sat, Zoey noticed it and put her left hand on hers, calming her down.
“Jeremy is okay. Why would big sister do that to her fellow lady huh? Why?”, she asked as she walked up to them.
Zoey smiled.
“Come on Tammy, you wouldn’t understand these things okay? You are still a kid”, she said, smiling at her.
Tarmah was stunned by what she just heard, she went mad instantly, but tried to control herself.
“Hmm, Zoey I’m trying to accord you respect as my big sister’s bestie, else this would have been a different story, why would you call me a kid? Do I look like one?”, she asked.
Zoey was shocked, but tried to be calm.
“All I’m saying here dear Tammy is that, you are only seeing this from a different perspective, which isn’t the right one, I am not calling you a kid”, she said.
All the while, Amelia just looked at Tarmah with disdain and so much hate, she just hated this sister of hers.
“But you just did”, Tarmah continued, “well, as I was saying, if I was Jeremy, I would have even severed my so called relationship with you, ASAP”, she said.
“Well, thanks to God you aren’t Jeremy, now leave my room”, Amelia ordered and Tarmah began laughing.
The best friends glanced at each other.
“Hahaha, I never knew you do not only try to force yourself on a man, but you also rant at a fellow lady like a mad dog in the public. So much for a billionaire heiress, hahaha”, and she turned, still laughing, strolling out of the room.
The sitting duo watched her.
She got to the door and stopped, turned back at them and laughed them to scorn, then she opened the door and finally walked out.
As soon as she left Amelia turned to Zoey.
“You see exactly what I have been trying to tell you, it just played right here in front of you”, she said, fuming.
“It’s okay, I saw it all. Just… be calm”, she said to her, demonstrating with her hand.
“Tarmah never lets me rest in this house, always popping up at the wrong moments to cause trouble”, she continued.
“It’s okay”.
“And the worst part is, I can’t even fight her, if I raise a hand to land her a slap, she raise two of hers. Jeez!”, and she got up, Zoey joined her.
“It’s enough okay, just ignore her. It’s a normal thing among sisters”, Zoey said. They were now both standing.
“Mine is too much, too much”, she said.
“I said you should ignore that. Let’s focus on the issue at hand. Why do you think Jeremy said you should do that?”, she asked.
“How would I know? I don’t”, she replied, pacing about.
“Hmm. And if you don’t do it, what happens?”, she asked.
She turned to her.
“He said our relationship would get worsened than it is”, she cried.
Zoey gasped.
“Hold on a sec, is Jeremy actually saying all that to you with his senses? Does he realize that you are his fiancee? His betrothed?”, she exclaimed.
Amelia sighed and walked up to the mirror, placing her both hands on the dressing table and looked into the mirror.
“So, what you going to do now? You doing it?”, Zoey asked.
“Yes”, she replied at once, still staring at her reflection in the mirror.
Zoey’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“Really?”, she walked up to her.
Amelia abruptly turned away from the mirror to Zoey.
“If this gonna ruin the relationship I’m trying so hard to build, then yes, I’m gonna do it”, she said.
Zoey was shocked, she couldn’t believe her friend would accept to do that.
“It’s okay, it’s okay if you choose to”, she concluded.

Jasira was sitting in the large living room of the mansion, chatting away with Lord Lucario and a few of her men, they were having fun that afternoon.
“What? You wouldn’t just believe it, Greg actually peed on himself, he thought we were done for”, Jasira said laughing hysterically.
The others bursted into laughter, except for Greg.
“Huh?”, he mouthed, “I did that?”, he asked.
“Yeah, as soon as the man pointed the gun on your head, you peed on yourself”, she replied, still laughing.
Greg shrugged.
“Well, thank God it’s just a dream”, he said.
“What if it comes true?”, she asked, now reducing her laughter.
He rolled his eyes.
“It wouldn’t”, he replied.
“It’s just a dream daughter, don’t pray it comes true”, Lord Lucario said.
At this juncture Mawthie came in. He bowed and they all turned to him.
“Your Lordship”, he bowed to Lord Lucario.
“Speak”, he ordered.
“Some people are here to see Boss J”, he said and all eyes turned to Jasira, who was looking surprised.
“Expecting someone?”, Lord Lucario asked.
“No, I wonder who it is”, she said and turned to Mawthie, “let them in here”, she said.
Mawthie bowed once again and left the room. He returned few seconds later with two young men, one of them holding a customized paper bag.
The people sitting watched them as they came in.
The young men bowed as they got in, and took a stand.
“Yeah, how may I help you?”, Jasira asked.
“Good day. We are harmless, sent by someone to deliver a package to you”, one of the men spoke.
Jasira glanced at the others and sat up.
“And who is that?”, she asked.
“Amelia, the billionaire heiress”, the other replied.
Huh? That girl? Jasira was shocked.
“What package is that?”, she asked and the one holding the paper bag, came forward and handed it to her.
Slowly, she accepted it and looked into the bag. She could see a small envelope, and a mini package.
She looked up at them.
“What is this?”.
“Ma’am, it’s just an apology letter, and a new phone”, he replied.
What! Jasira was stunned.
