Today, Ying Xiaoxiao changed her bad habit of snoozing. She got up bright and early intentionally.
As soon as she woke up, she began to wash up, do her makeup, pick out her outfit, shoes, and bag— all without taking a break.
She moved almost all the in-season clothing she had from her closet onto the bed. She brought each piece in front of the mirror to see how it would look on her, and if she felt that it was not bad, she would put it on and try.
If she was not satisfied, she would choose another one. This process continued until she was satisfied.
Just picking an outfit took her more than an hour, let alone a bag and shoes.
When she was about to head out, it was almost the start of office hours.
She had put lots of effort into her outfit, but she had not been expecting him to pick on it to this extent.
Thinking of this, Ying Xiaoxiao became angrier the more she thought about it.
She looked at Corey again and he was still rambling on and on.
“This is the office, not a runway for you to have a fashion show at. If you have the time to dress up, why don’t you read a few more books? Otherwise, if you can’t complete your work, you’ll be no better than a flower vase…”
Ying Xiaoxiao felt a surge of anger rising from the bottom of her heart. Gnashing her teeth, she roared in a low voice, “Corey, are you done?”
Corey was so frightened that he immediately shut his mouth. He blinked his eyes and looked at her innocently.
Ying Xiaoxiao took a big step forward and grabbed his tie forcefully. He could only lower his head and look into her furious gaze.
He was taken aback and cried out, “Ying Xiaoxiao, use words, not fists.”
Ying Xiaoxiao could not hold back her laughter after hearing what he said, and she burst out laughing.
“Corey, do you think a girl like me would be able to hit you? You’re so dumb! Coward!”
Ying Xiaoxiao let go of his tie and rolled her eyes at him with her face full of contempt.
How dare she call him a coward?!
Corey was enraged. “Ying Xiaoxiao, don’t think that I don’t have the guts to fight a woman.”
“Oh really?” Ying Xiaoxiao looked at him disdainfully with her hands folded in front of her chest. “Then do it, I’d like to see if you would really dare to.”
After saying that, Ying Xiaoxiao walked nearer to him as she raised her head and looked at him provocatively.
“I…”
Corey raised his hand, but he could not bring himself to do it.
“Why? You don’t dare to, right?” Ying Xiaoxiao sneered and lifted her hand to smoothen her hair. A wicked smile formed around the corners of her lips.
“Coward!” She deliberately emphasized her tone and had a particularly smug smile.
Corey was immediately enraged. “Ying Xiaoxiao, I suddenly realized that you’re very lovable.”
“Really?” Ying Xiaoxiao flung her hair back and raised her brows slightly. “That means you’re blind. I’ve always been very lovable.”
“Yes, you are very lovable.” Corey nodded his head in agreement before continuing, “You’re so pitiable because no one loves you. Whoever loves you will be pitiful.”
After that, he flashed a wide grin at her and then stepped back for fear that she would hit him.
“Corey!” Ying Xiaoxiao rushed forward and raised her hand to hit him.
Corey lifted both hands and crossed them in front of himself. He warned her, “Don’t come any closer, or I can’t guarantee what my hands will do.”
“Oh?” Ying Xiaoxiao put down her hand. “Go ahead and try, coward!”
As she spoke, she continued to walk towards him. Meanwhile, he stepped backward.
When his back was against the wall, there was no way to retreat further. Corey glared at Ying Xiaoxiao and said, “Last warning, you’ll suffer the consequences if you come any closer.”
Ying Xiaoxiao did not take his warning seriously and continued to come towards him.
