Seeing that she was uncomfortable, Sachin raised his sharp brows slightly, and a small, warm smile stretched from the corners of his lips.
He reached out to gently caress her hair, his gaze full of love. “I asked Auntie Wu to boil some fish soup for you, have some later.”
“Hum,” she replied obediently.
Her hair was very fine and soft. As his fingertips gently caressed her hair, his gaze narrowed gradually, revealing a hint of coldness.
Yan Xu!
He was a man who had become close to Rosiley and had an impure motive.
Feeling the cold aura he was emanating, Rosiley lifted her head and his cold, handsome face entered her vision. He looked deep in thought and his gaze was so dark she could not tell what he was thinking.
She frowned, and then gently called him. “Sachin.”
Hearing the voice, Sachin lowered his head and looked into her puzzled eyes. He chuckled lightly. “What’s wrong?”
Rosiley shook her head with a smile and said, “Nothing. I’m just hungry.”
Sachin smiled and gently caressed her head. “I’ll get you some fish soup.”
“Okay.” She nodded with a smile.
When he turned around to get her some fish soup, the smile hanging around the corners of her lips faded away gradually.
Looking at his straight back, her brows furrowed gently. His expression earlier had been so cold and frightening. Was he thinking about Yan Xu?
Had he misunderstood her and Yan Xu?
She bit her lip gently and thought about whether she should explain it or not.
Sachin carried the bowl of fish soup, turned around, and saw her conflicted expression. He could not help smiling. “Rosiley, what’s wrong?”
Rosiley looked up at him and flashed him a smile. “I was wondering if I should drink one or two bowls.”
Sachin knew that this was not what she was really troubled about, but he did not press her.
He just handed the bowl to her with a smile and said gently, “Eat as much as you want.”
“Hum.” Rosiley smiled and took the bowl. The aroma of the fish soup wafted into her nose.
She said with a smile, “It smells so good. It must be delicious.” She then lowered her head, picked up the spoon and slowly ate the soup.
Sachin sat down on the chair by the bed and looked at her quietly. A faint streak of soft light rippled in his pitch-black eyes.
There was a tint of warmth in the silence that was filling up the ward.
The bowl was almost empty. Rosiley slowed down her actions, and she was still hesitating about whether to explain the situation or not.
She lifted her eyelids and looked at the man sitting in the chair. She pursed her lips and finally opened up. “Sachin.”
“Hum?”
Rosiley put down her hand. After hesitating for a while, she said slowly, “I didn’t know that Yan Xu would come to see me today. Before today, we only met twice. The first time was when he saved me and another time was in Qing City, so today is the third time we have met.”
Sachin looked at her quietly. His gaze was deep and calm and she could not see his emotions.
On the contrary, his calmness made Rosiley feel very uneasy. Her hands tightened around the bowl subconsciously.
After a long time, he smiled helplessly. “Rosiley, are you explaining this to me because you don’t believe that I trust you?”
“No.” Rosiley shook her head slightly. “I just don’t want there to be any misunderstanding between us.”
Sometimes, a little misunderstanding could be enough to affect the relationship between two people. She wanted them to be frank with each other without any grey areas.
Sachin looked at her serious expression and his heart was slightly moved. Before he got up, he took the bowl from her hand and put it on the bedside table. Then, he took her into his arms and gently stroked her soft hair.
“silly,” he said softly. “There won’t be any misunderstandings between us.”
His tone was very firm. When Rosiley heard it, her uneasy heart calmed down gradually.
“Sachin.”
“Yes?”
“I’m glad you trust me so much.”
