The joy of a woman is to someday become a mother and have a child, but that joy can be ruined if it happens one of the partners doesn’t agree to the other partner.
George shakes his head with disagreement, “Grace, Grace. I don’t think this a good idea.” George says, moving across the bedroom as Grace is sitting on the top of the bedroom’s mattress.
Grace looks at George with a contorted face. “What are you saying George? Didn’t I tell you before that we will work on this?” Grace says.
George nods with affirmation, “Yes I know, but I’m not really sure if this is the right thing that we are doing right now.” George says.
George moves closer towards Grace’s space, looking at his wife straight in the eyes and sighs. “Don’t you think that the baby will get us into trouble in the future if we keep living with him here in our house?” George speaks with a concern look on his face.
Grace rolls up her eyes and sighs. “What are you afraid of George? We will handle this together don’t worry about that.” Grace says.
“No, I’m not really sure that we are doing the right thing right now, what if his mother is looking for him at the bus stop? Do you think it will be fair for her as she is sick and worried about her son?” George asks, demanding explanation as he looks at Grace straight in the eyes.
Grace twisted her lips and scoffs, “If she was worried about him, she wouldn’t have abandoned her son in the middle of the street by himself in the late at night.” Grace says.
At the time that Grace and George were returning back home from the hospital after the doctor’s treatment, Grace saw the baby crying on the top of the bus stop bench by himself as they were returning back home with their car and then decided to take him.
George furrows his brows, “But grace, this is too dangerous for us! What if people find out that we were the one who took that child without her mother’s consent? This will even ruin our family reputation period!” George says.
Grace sighs with exhaustion of George’s words and swings off her legs from her bed into her slippers while holding the baby on her arms with the baby shawl.
Grace stands up and moves closer towards George’s space with knitted brows, “What is going on with you George? What is with the sudden change of mind?” Grace asks as her face demanding the answers while holding the baby on her arms.
“I think this is a bad idea, the only thing that we need to do right now is to return back the child back to the bus stop bench and leave him there alone.” George says.
Grace looks at her husband taken aback by his response.
“George, how can you be so cruel? What kind of words are you telling me right now?” Grace says.
Grace’s marriage life was not a smooth ride like anyone else, despite having so many things in life such as wealthy husband and good house but she has faced multiple criticism from her family and her friends for not giving birth early on time, on which some of them ended up calling her a barren woman.
“Oh! come on! Don’t start with the tears again. The doctor has already told you that there is a still a chance of getting pregnant and have your own child. Why are you trying to make things so much complicated?” George says.
“But how sure are you about that George?! What if I fail to get pregnant again? My age is running out right now and I cannot remain like this forever.” Grace says.
George rolls up his eyes and sighs, walking away from Grace heading towards the bedroom’s door.
Grace furrows her brows. “I haven’t done talking to you George, where are you going right now?” Grace asks.
“I’m going to the police station and report this issue ASAP. There is no way I’m going to allow myself to get into trouble again with that child.” George says.
“Okay fine! If you are so much determined to report this to the authorities, I will make sure that you will sign our divorce papers when you return back home from the police station.” Grace exclaims with the scrunch face, looking at her husband as she carries the baby on her arms.
George stops in the middle of the way, holding the door handle not knowing what to do next.
