LUCAS’S POV.
I watched Camilla tiptoe on the rink and prepared the precise skating position I told her to keep. We both went out ice skating in one of the popular Ice rinks in America and today was boxing day.
My mum had left saying she would return and make things right, I couldn’t bring myself to just forgive her yet because of all what I went through as a little boy and the worst thing was that She and Dad had been together for almost a year and he kept it from me all this while.
Camilla’s feet were at hip distance and her arms were in front of her, then she squatted slightly, just enough to find her balance.
Little kids waved at her as they skated around her giggling at her, I still find it amusing when she told she didn’t know how to skate.
She bent her knees and looked down, probably afraid she wouldn’t fall. Her shoulders were forward and she allowed herself to hold on to the nearby iron handle as tried to practice her position.
“Come on, you can do it,” I encouraged her as I skated over to her.
“I know!” She breathed out as cold was visible from her mouth.
She moved forward and almost slipped as she clung back to the handle.
“Woah!” She shouted making me chuckle as she closed her eyes and breathed in deeply.
“I can do it,” She muttered bravely and moved forward with her hands forward and her legs shaking.
“Camilla you need to be–”
“Ouch!” She groaned before I could finish my statement she fell flat on the ice.
I skated over to her as a chuckle left my lips.
A little boy had already gotten there before me.
“Are you okay, miss?” He asked cutely staring at Camilla who sat up and smiled at him.
“Yes, darling!” She answered and ruffled his curly black hair and he skated off.
“You good?” I asked trying not to laugh.
“This is a lot harder than I thought,” She sighed and laid back on the ice again, she wouldn’t dare do that if she wasn’t wearing a thick leather jacket with denim jeans, a wooly scarf was around her neck and she was putting on a head warmer.
“Get up!” I said stretching my hand to her as she gripped them and made to stand but her legs slipped wide.
“Holy fuck!” She gasped but my grip on her waist was as tight as I held her in place.
“Let’s skate together,” I suggested as holding her hands that were wearing a thick glove.
“Okay,” She smiled.
“First thing, you need to be comfortable in your skates and don’t think about falling, just think like you’re professional,” I told her as she chuckled.
“Okay, I’ll try,” She smiled.
“Are you ready?” I asked her before I started moving.
“Yes!” She said looking forward and I started skating holding her hands tightly as I moved forward fluidly on my skate. There was no jerky movement except that Camilla was trying to catch up with me making me slow down a bit as she found it difficult to balance herself.
“Follow my steps,” I said and looked behind her eyes almost falling off as she nodded.
I held my left arm out at just below shoulder level. I glanced behind and saw she did the same with her right hand. Then my head was forward and my knees were bent slightly.
“I think I’m getting it,” She said as I glanced at her and smiled as we moved on the ice.
I wasn’t wearing a head warmer so the wind was in my hair, the breeze felt lovely across my chest, I felt so alive.
“Are you ready?” I asked her… I was about to leave her hands.
“Re-ready for what?” She stuttered and I left her hands as her knees bent immediately and she squatted into a dip position. Her hands were drawn forward as she tried to steady herself.
“Lucas! You’ll pay for this,” She squealed loudly while I trailed behind her chuckling and looking forward.
“Watch out!” I notified her when a little girl was coming to her front.
She tried to avoid the little girl but she ended up falling on her butt while the little girl dodged her.
“Sorry miss,” A lady apologized as she trailed behind the little girl.
“Cassy slow down!” She called out while I got closer to Camilla who sat on the ice.
“Sorry!” I muttered.
“Why did you leave my hands?” She glared at me while my lips twitched.
“I thought you were already getting it,” I replied offering my hands to her.
“Whatever!” She muttered slapping my hands away as she tried to get up herself.
Her legs slipped forward and she was about to fall again but I was quick to grab her waist.
“I’m not skating again, I want an Ice cream,” She said in defeat while I laughed and helped her out of the rink.

We got home in the evening after having fun in so many places and I grabbed Camilla’s hand when she wanted to go to the dining room, well, I had a gift I wanted to give her for Christmas.
“Let’s go upstairs first,” I said as she stared at me with those lovely blue eyes.
“Okay?” She asked in a surprised tone as we started going upstairs.
I opened the door of my room and left her hand as she walked over to the bed and sat on it, while I walked into my closet to get her gift.
I walked back to the room, to see her holding to ref packaged box gifts as I stared amusedly at her as I got closer.
“Uhm! I also have a gift to give you,” She said sheepishly, as I sat beside her and gave her the blue packaged gift while she gave me hers.
“Let’s open it together,” I smiled while she nodded.
She tore the blue wrapping paper away from the box and gasped.
“Oh my God! Lucas,” She gasped staring at the box item in her hands.
Well, I got her a Samsung S21 ultra when I racked my brain endlessly the day before yesterday.
“This is too much!” She gasped staring at me.
“Nope, it’s not, you deserve better, Camilla,” I smiled bringing my palms to her cheeks as she smiled at me.
“Let’s see what my baby got for me,” I smiled tearing of the red wrappings of the small item and smiled opening the box to see it was the SPGBK Honeycutt silicone band watch.
“This is great!” I smiled and stared at her as she smiled warmly at me.
“Let me check this too,” I said tearing the wrapping paper off the bigger box and smiling too.
It was an Oculus quest with two all-in-one virtual reality headsets.
“Do you like them? I know it’s not as costly for what you get for me but– “I stopped her from whatever she was about to say as I placed my finger on her lips shushing her while I gazed into her face and locked my eyes with hers.
“I love it, they’re perfect and I’ll cherish them as much as I cherish you,” I said as her eyes became filled with tears.
“I love you!” She cried as she hugged me wrapping her hands around my neck.
“I love you too,” I said holding her dearly.
She’s my world, my life, my intoxication, my everything, she will forever be in my heart no matter what.
This is just the starting of what is about to become of our lives because I have so many lovely surprises for her.
