Today was bright and sunny, Beatrice, I, and Leticia walked hand in hand as we climbed down the stairs together.
People stared at us as we made our way to the canteen, while some girls stared at me with envy.
Well, because the popular guy which is Lucas had been hanging out with me.
We opened the door to the canteen as Beatrice stepped in first. Leticia was still laughing because of something silly Beatrice said earlier.
I got into the canteen followed by Leticia and to our surprise, we saw Ben blocking Beatrice from passing.
“Those two still haven’t settled their grudges?” Leticia asked while I nodded.
Beatrice tried to go the other way but Ben stopped her as he stepped in front of her again.
“Are we going to watch them?” Leticia whispered beside me while I chuckled.
“At least we’re not the only one staring at them,” I chuckled as my eyes darted around to see most of the student’s gaze in the canteen fixed on them.
“Excuse me!” We heard Beatrice fume and also stared at Ben who was staring down at her, well Beatrice was just a little bit taller than me, so I will still put her in the category of average height.
Ben just kept staring at her, without saying a word he took steps closer to her while Beatrice moved back.
“Seems we’re going to watch some high school love,” Leticia chuckled.
“Keep it low!” I giggled staring back at them.
“Stay aw–” Beatrice warned but Ben wrapped his hands around her waist and drew her closer to his body.
“What are you doing?” Beatrice asked in frustration as she tried to wriggle free from Ben’s hold.
“See the way he’s staring at her… There’s no doubt he won’t kiss her here right now,” Leticia gasped while grinning.
We watched him tug the strands of her hair beside her ear and they both stared intimately into their eyes.
“Let go of me,” Beatrice fumed as she placed her hands on his chest and tried to push him away.
Beatrice raised her hand and we all feared that she was going to slap him hard across the face as she has done before.
Ben saw her act on time and caught her hand right in time and trapped her hand to the back as he leaned and smashed his lips against her.
We all gasped as Leticia clapped her hands happily while I stared at her.
Awwwn! We heard some of the students say.
“Why are you clapping?” I asked facing her with a smirk playing on my lips.
“Because they’re finally back together,” She uttered while I smiled.
“Yeah,” I nodded.
“They look so cute together,” Leticia smiled as we turned our faces towards them. Ben held her dearly as Beatrice gave in to his kiss, one could see how she wrapped her hands around his neck.
They finally broke the kiss as they panted for air staring at each other.
Beatrice was speechless as she stared at Ben before turning round to meet our gazes then gulped in whatever was in her mouth.
“That was so romantic,” Leticia smiled dreamily clasping her hands together while Beatrice gave her a death glare.
“You guys are just so unbelievably,” Beatrice fumed and headed towards the door.
“Beatrice! Wait, where are you going to?” I asked as I and Leticia hurried out of the canteen and walked speedily towards Beatrice.
“Beatrice wait!” I called as I started running after her, I got closer to her and grabbed her shoulder finally able to stop her.
“Why is he making things just so difficult?” She cracked wiping her eyes that were about to spill out tears with the back of her hands.
“He kissed you now in front of everyone which means he has feelings and–”
“He loves you,” Leticia murmured interrupting as I nodded.
“We can’t be together… I’m leaving after school,” She fumed while I and Leticia sighed.
“It doesn’t mean,” I tried to say but she shunned me off with her hand.
“It does mean, what if I don’t end up loving him back after being away from him for a while,” She deadpanned while I and Leticia glanced at ourselves speechlessly.
“Beatrice! Don’t tell me you don’t have an idea of a long-distance relationship, at least this is a civilized world. What’s the essence of mobile phones. You guys would be in touch with each other always although it won’t be physical,” Leticia said while I nodded in affirmation to what she just said.
“Yeah! I think she’s right,” I said as Beatrice gazed at us contemplating what we just said.
“I just do–”
“Give me some minutes with her,” We heard someone say behind us as we tilted our head to the back to see who it was.

There he was standing so tall, with his hands shoved into the black pants he was wearing as he stared at Beatrice in sa frowned state.
“Okay! We’ll leave you two alone,” Leticia and I chorused and interlocked our arms together as we turned to Beatrice who was staring at us with looks begging us not to leave.
“Listen to him,” I mouthed at her as I began dragging Leticia along with me as we made our way back to the canteen.
We got inside and went to our spot, to meet Lucas focused on his phone.
“Hey!” I jabbed his shoulder and he look up before flashing me a smile as he exposed his white teeth at me.
“Baby,” He smirked and patted his leg while I raised a questioning brow at him.
“Huh?” I muttered staring at him while Leticia dropped her bag on the table and went to order some food.
“Order for me too,” I notified as she turned around.
“What do you want to eat?” She asked while I shrugged not even knowing what I want to eat.
“The same thing you’re going to eat,” I said and she nodded turning around, and headed to the counter.
I yelped when Lucas grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him as I tripped and sat on his laps.
I gasped trying to stand up as he wrapped his hands around my waist tightly.
“Lucas stop!” I groaned trying to unclasp his fingers intertwined together.
“You smell nice!” He murmured closer to my ears and I tried to scoot away from him.
I darted my eyes and noticed some curious eyes watching us.
“Stop! People are watching us,” I gasped stepping on his leg but he didn’t move.
“Shhh! And grind your ass on me,” He muttered and my eyes widened as I kicked his leg with the sole of sneakers I was wearing.
“Fuck!” He groaned and released me as I scooted away from him and sat on the next chair beside him.
“What’s wrong with you?” I glared at him lowering my voice as I leaned on the time.
“I feel like having my girlfriend close to me,” He tsked while I rolled my eyes at him.
“Come closer,” He said motioning his fingers at me while I frowned.
“Why?” I grumbled staring at him.
“I want to tell you something,” He said gazing at me.
“What is it?” I asked leaning on the table as I got closer to him.
“Will you go on a date with me this Friday evening?” He asked gazing at me while I gasped.
“Uhm–
“Here comes your food,” Leticia interrupted dropping the food tray on the table getting me startled.
“Yes,” I said, picking a hamburger and a banana milkshake drink.
“Yes?” Lucas asked as I turned my gaze to him while he stared at me waiting for an assured answer.
“Yes, I will,” I answered while he smiled and stood up.
“You’re leaving?” I asked staring at him as he nodded.
“Yeah, I need to go to the restroom, will be back soon,” He said while I nodded.
I watched him leave through the exit of the canteen.
“Why are you grinning?” Leticia asked when I had a tasteful bite of the hamburger.
I leaned closer to her with my mouth stuffed and chewed swallowing the content down my throat as I gaze at her.
“He asked me out for a date,” I whispered and her eyes widened.
“Oh my God! I’m so hap–”
I didn’t let her finish her exclamation and kicked her foot a bit hard when I realized she was increasing her voice.
“Ouch!” She groaned immediately while I brought the milkshake closer to my lips and sipped it as I squinted my eyes.
“Keep it low!” I muttered glancing at her.
“But it hurts!” She grimaced while I chuckled sipping my drink.
