LUCAS’S POV.

The door opened as my gaze met with hers, my heart sank seeing in her this state. She looked so weak and pale…
Her face was invaded with dark circles that formed a sac beneath her eyes and her brown and gold hair was so messy and tattered, I took in more of her features and realized she had lost weight even in that cotton shirt dress she was wearing that reached her mid-thigh.
My heart crunched painfully while I stared at her.
Her eyes widened with shock as she took her time staring at me, I knew she wasn’t expecting me to be in front of her but I couldn’t control myself.
I needed to see her even though it’s just a glimpse well I’ve gone too far though, and now I’m standing in front of her.
The past week has been so unbearable for me. I hadn’t been myself for not seeing that cute baby face of hers. My heart ached so badly and I’ve been constantly asking Beatrice how she was faring.
We stood there for some minutes staring at each other before a frown replaced that shocked look of hers.
She tried to slam the door in my face but I stuck my leg out stopping the door as I placed my hands on the wooden pieced and pushed it as I got in myself.
“I told you to stay away from me,” She cracked moving backward as I closed the door behind me.
“I can’t,” I replied gazing at her.
“What do you want, huh?” She yelled at me.
“To see how broken and shattered I am, t-to satisfy your crazy guts… th-this is what you wanted for me all these years and it is accomplished” She broke hysterically as tears filled her eyes while she chuckled with a cracked voice glaring at me.
I got hurt with what she said but that wasn’t the reason why I was fucking here…
“Camilla!” I started walking closer to her.
“Stop right there! Don’t you fucking come close to me,” she warned pointing a finger at me as she moved back herself.
It amused me to see how she tried to act furious but she was still scared inside, I could see that.
Still talking steps closer to her, she moved back.
“Leave, I don’t want to see you,” She sobbed and I sighed as she got stopped by the wall as she trembled fearfully.
“If you want me to forgive you, just go away!” She yelled pointing to the door while I chuckled lightly.
“To hell with that, Camilla… I don’t care if you forgive me or not, I’m not leaving you at this moment” I said coldly shooting an icy gaze at her as I took another step to her while she squirmed from where she was standing.
“I’m not here to hurt you!” I said feeling hurt myself as I tried to ease her mind a bit.
“I told you to stay away!” She screamed and grabbed the flower vase that was on the table beside her and smashed it on the floor as it made a shattering and clattering noise on the floor and that alone got me pissed off to walk closer to her and grip her arm as I yanked her to my chest.
She crashed on me at the sudden pull and fought desperately to get away from my hold.
“Stay away from me!” She cried using her free hand to hit my chest relentlessly.
“St-stay away from me!” She cracked as I wrapped my hands around her and hugged her tightly as her head rested on my chest.
I felt her hands at my back as she clutched my jacket as her nails dug in them tightly and realized she was hugging me back while she buried her face in my chest sobbing.
“It’s okay!” I whispered softly brushing her hair with my fingers as she drew her head back so she could look at me.
“Did you do the project?” She asked and I was stunned that yet she was still grieving about her mother, she still thought about her school works.
“Yes, I did,” And I could see relieve rushed down her face.
“Wh-Why does life have to be hard on me?” She choked sobbing as fresh tears flowed down her cheeks.
I bent my head lowly to kiss her forehead as my fingers ran into her hair.
I was speechless not knowing what to say to comfort her, she looked like a fragile shell broken into many pieces.
I lifted her gently so she won’t get hurt by the broken glasses on the floor as I made my way to the old cushion set which was worn out already.
I placed her carefully on the seat as I sat down next to her, she moved up closer to me and buried her face in my chest crying her heart.
I held her closer to me, this has been the most emotional state I’ve ever found myself in.
I let her cried as she rubbed her face on my chest while she sniffed loudly as she blew her nose on my clothes.
Yuck!
Well, I think it is best if she cried out all her agony as I rubbed my hands on her arm and it was the only way to get her close to me.
I was happy she had a shoulder to cry on…
My heart squeezed tightly listening to her muffled sobs and whimpers as I kissed her hair running my fingers through them.
“Everything will be okay,” I muttered kissing her hair once more.
I felt her wheezed out as she hiccuped lightly.
I drew back pulling her shoulders lightly and as her face fell to the side.
She was fast asleep…
She breathed in slowly trying to rest her head back on my chest and a little smile crawled on my lips.
She looked like a 6-year-old.
I stood up cautiously as I supported her head with my hand so it won’t hit the seat suddenly while I placed my other hand beneath her exposed legs as my Jaw twitched at the sight of her milk and creamy skin.
I carried her up gently in a bridal style and made sure I was careful enough not to wake her up.
She shifted a bit making still as I held my breath, I couldn’t believe I was behaving like a father who is trying not to let a month-old baby he had successfully made to sleep and carrying to his cot not to wake up at the moment.
When I found out she nuzzled closer to me, I breathed a sigh of relief and made my way to her room.
I walked through the small stairs making sure her leg doesn’t hit the wooden frame.
I finally got to her room and use the side of my arm to push open the door as I walked into her petite room and walked over to her bed.
I tried to place her gently on the bed as she clung tightly to my top but she was still asleep, I struggled to keep her on the bed finally and when I wanted to stand up back she clutched tighter than before making me lose my balance and almost fell on her but I was quick to place my hands on the bed by her sides so my weight won’t crush her as my face was only inches apart from her sleeping one as my gaze flickered to her soft lips.
She hiccuped slightly and relaxed as she felt her body on the bed but didn’t let go of me.
“What a baby!” I muttered with a light chuckled as I leaned closer to her face and kissed her forehead then kissed her salty tears which were almost drying on her face.
“Everything will be okay,” I muttered between the feathery kisses I placed on her cheeks before pressing my lips on her slightly parted heart-shaped lips.
I freed her hands that were clung tightly to my top and stood erect.
“Ple-please, do-don’t leave me,” She muttered in her sleep as she whimpered lightly.
“Mum, don’t leave me!” She hiccuped with her face saddening up, I sighed and sat beside her bed and held her hand into mine.
“I’m not leaving you,” I spoke out and she wheezed out again and turned her head to the side.
I sat beside her still holding her hands for some minutes then placed her hand on her stomach sure enough she was deeply asleep.
‘You’re all mine, Camilla! All mine,” I thought possessively in my mind.
Despite what she was facing, she looked so peaceful than ever in her sleep.
I stood up and used the duvet to cover her exposed thigh and legs, tugged the strands of hair that fell over her face behind her ear.
I leaned closer to her and kissed her forehead once more and straightened up to make my way towards the door.
I glanced over her making sure she slept calmly, I closed the door behind me gently trying not to make a creaking sound.
I got to the small living room and glanced at the broken floor vase on the floor.
I thought of cleaning the mess on the floor and tried to look for a sweeper or broom.
I walked into the kitchen and saw another piece of broken glass on the floor.
‘Didn’t know little sparrow was also into tantrums!’ I thought amusedly as I glanced to the side of the mini-fridge and saw a broomstick.
I picked it up with the parker beside it, I swept the glasses in the kitchen first then went into the living room to pack the broken ones there too.
I disposed of them in the waste bin, then went over to the sink to wash my hands.
To be frank, I’ve never swept in my entire life, the servant did it ever since I was born.
I wiped my hands on my jean trousers, then made my way to the door.
I was about to leave when I thought of checking on Camilla once more.
I ran up the stairs and opened her door quietly peeking inside and saw she was still sleeping.
I smiled slightly and made my way downstairs then to the door.
I opened the door and saw someone was about to open the door too as her hands came forward.
“Who are you?” She snapped gazing at me and I realized she was taking her time to check me out.
‘Is this Camilla’s sister?’ I asked myself as I noticed that her eyes were a darker shade of blue.
“I’m Lucas and I came to check on Camilla,” I said politely while a small smile crept on her lips.
“Camilla didn’t tell me she had a boyfriend, I’m Lillian her elder sister,” She said walking inside.
“Uhm! I gotta go, she’s sleeping in her room,” I said and walked out of the house to where I parked my black Ferrari sports car.
“Nice to meet you!” She shouted from behind while I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
I heard her close the door as I pressed the remote of my car and got in.
I inserted the key into its place and drove off.
