Explanation.
Kaiden POV.
That man scares me, he does so badly, the second we walked into his office I felt like I’m suffocating, all I wanted was Adrian but he wasn’t there yet, Anna tried to hold me while we wait, but he took forever to come, hot tears came down my face, I didn’t want to cry, but I also couldn’t control the tears.
When Adrian came I went to hide in his arms, I still had to tell you my dream, I was so happy to tell Adrian about my dragon, even she was proud to show him how cute we are. I wonder what’s Adrian’s dragon-like, his eyes shift to red, not the ugly red, more like of a crimson red. What kind of dragon is he? I should ask him later, for now I listened to the scary man say that I have to go with Adrian.
Adri thanked him for the chance and left holding me, the more farther away from his office we got the better I felt. His aura was too strong for me, it made my head hurt, not feeling too well I laid my head on Adri’s shoulder while he took us out to the garden.
He sat down and pulled me more toward him keeping me warm, I looked at him observing his face, I didn’t have the chance to look at him that well yesterday. He had glasses on, I never saw dragons needing glasses, except the one from the sun, we are more of moons creatures. Adrian had a sharp jaw, a crooked nose that looked to have broken and had healed a million times, his teeth were perfectly white. He was beautiful, I think to myself with a blush, feeling my dragon purr! We are dragons we don’t purr, I scold myself for that.
“Can you be a big girl for me Kaiden, please we need to talk” he sounded so serious, I just nod, the haze has left me the second my dragon purred for me! We are dragons we don’t purr, I had to scold myself again.
“Verbal respond Kaiden” he says in a firm voice.
“Yes I am” I answer rolling my eyes the nod meant the same thing.
“What Mr. Ladon just did, what he thinks we are…” He says but then stops again lost for words.
“Do you know what mates are Kaddy?” He asks. I nod first but he raises a brow at me.
“It’s when two dragons chose each other, they’ll be called mates.” I explain that’s what I’ve learned so far.
“Yes and a submissive dragon only shows itself after choosing their mate,” he says, I nod not understanding what else there’s.
“Kaddy honey, your dragon showed itself after meeting me, you dreamt about her, your eyes turned purple in the office. What Mr. Ladon said is that he thinks we are mates, he wants you to move into my room so I can help you” he explain to me.
“Help me with what?” I ask him with confusion.
“Help you with your dragon, you’ll need guidance and help until she’s ready to come out. You can’t shift alone Kaiden, you’ll die, it’s why you need a mate” he says.
It all came to me in one moment, dragons show themselves when they chose mate, this morning I called him mine… my dragon wants him…
“A… Adrian…” I call to him scared and nervous about what I’m about to ask.
“Yes pidge?” He answers.
“Do… do you want me to?” I ask closing both eyes, I was always worried I’ll end up with someone I don’t want, but what if he ends up with me while he doesn’t want me.
“You joking me Kaiden? You’re the cutest little alive, my dragon would be honored to call you his” he says his eyes flashing the red crimson again making me blush.
“How… how things go now?” I ask him, usually we get a chance for him to court me, I’ll stay in my room, but now I have to move to his.
“We’ll go slow of course, I’ll try my best to gain Kaiden the human trust, I’ll never do anything that would hurt you. You’ll be staying with me, I’ll have some rules for you to follow, we’ll go to class together and Rees isn’t allowed to call you his fudge anymore” he says the last word was said with annoyance and jealousy making me giggle! I love Rees and his silly names.
“When he told you that?” I ask, I don’t remember him calling me that last night.
“Last night, me and Rees and Masha go way back sweetie, we were catching up on things and all Rees talked about was how cute of a fudge you are” he says rolling his eyes making me giggle out loud this time.
