Chapter 233: Saving Her Mother

For a long time, Bianca would cherish the immense happiness she felt that day. It was a memory she would hold onto for the rest of her life.
Meanwhile, Madison was sitting on her sofa at home, watching TV, when her phone rang.
Madison picked up her phone and saw it was a call from LMH Group’s headquarters. She straightened up and answered the call.
“Ms. Lopez, our investigation has found that the man you’re asking about could be…”
Madison’s eyes widened in shock, and her face twitched slightly as she listened to the surprising news.
After the call ended, Madison sat back on the sofa, deep in thought. She tried to calm herself. The caller had only suggested a possibility and wasn’t sure if Dave was actually that person.
But if Dave was that person, why had he hidden his identity and deceived Bianca?
Madison wasn’t sure of his motives, but she felt she needed to tell Bianca.
She picked up her phone and dialed Bianca’s number.
Meanwhile, Bianca and Dave had just left the church. They walked together along the boulevard, enjoying the peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
“What would you like for dinner tonight?” Dave asked warmly.
Bianca’s eyes lit up as she said, “I’m more interested in learning to cook than eating. Teach me all your culinary skills tonight.”
Dave gently ruffled her hair and said, “You don’t have to learn to cook. If there’s anything you want, just let me know.”
Bianca shook her head and said, “I want to cook for you. It’s important to me to make a meal for the one I love. It gives me a special sense of fulfillment.”
Dave looked at her with a warm smile.
A gentle breeze brushed against Dave’s face, and the setting sun bathed him in a warm glow, making his eyes sparkle.
Suddenly, a sharp ringtone broke the peaceful moment. It was Bianca’s phone ringing.
Bianca let go of Dave’s hand to check her phone. Seeing Madison’s number, she stopped and stepped aside.
“Mom, what’s wrong?” she asked.
“Bianca, where are you right now?” Madison’s voice sounded urgent.
Bianca felt a wave of worry. “Mom, I’m outside. Is everything okay?”
“Come home right away. I need to talk to you about something important.”
Bianca looked at Dave, confused, and said, “It’s an hour’s drive to your place. If it’s so urgent, why not just tell me over the phone?”
“I can’t explain it clearly on the phone. Just come back quickly!”
Madison’s voice was firm, and she ended the call before Bianca could say anything else.
Madison was known for being firm when she made a decision.
Bianca sighed and turned back to Dave. “I need to go to my mom’s house. Maybe you should head back and wait for me?”
“Are you sure you can get back?” Dave asked with a playful smile.
Bianca understood his concern. She was a bit worried her mother might insist she stay, but today was important to her, and she was eager to come back.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be sure to return! We have plans to shop for groceries and cook together,” Bianca said confidently.
Dave raised an eyebrow but didn’t press the issue. “Okay, I’ll take you there.”
After ending the call, Madison felt anxious. She wasn’t sure how to tell Bianca about the investigation results.
Could Bianca handle the idea that her seemingly ordinary boyfriend might be a major figure in Edenfield? How would she react if she found out?
Madison decided to call Blake. “Blake, are you free? If you’re not busy, could you come over? I need to talk to you.”
Blake agreed right away.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Madison put down the phone, stood up, and walked to the door. She found Marisa Carson, the house cleaner, standing outside.
Madison opened the door and said with a smile, “Marisa, the house is a bit messy today. Thanks for coming.”
Marisa smiled back and replied softly, “It’s okay, no problem.”
She looked down and tightened her grip on her cloth bag.
Madison didn’t notice Marisa’s nervousness. She headed back to her room, feeling comfortable leaving the apartment in Marisa’s care. As usual, she let Marisa get to work.
After shutting the door to her room, Madison decided to lie down on the bed. With over an hour until Bianca returned, she thought it would be good to rest a bit. She covered herself and quickly drifted off to sleep.
Madison didn’t know that the person she trusted was about to put her life in serious danger.
Marisa cleaned the house carefully, nervously glancing toward Madison’s room as she bit her lip.
Then, she quietly slipped into the kitchen and turned on the stove gas valve.
An hour later, Bianca and Dave took a taxi to Madison’s apartment.
When they arrived, they saw black smoke rising from the building.
“It’s on fire!”
“Is anyone trapped inside?”
A crowd had gathered outside, staring at the smoke-filled window and pointing towards it.
A call had been made to the fire department, but it would take some time for them to arrive.
In the meantime, everyone could only stand by, feeling helpless as the fire spread. No one dared to get closer. Suddenly, a burst of flames shot from the window, making everyone’s hearts race.
Bianca looked up at the room where the fire was burning and felt a jolt of recognition. She saw the curtain, now on fire and flapping in the breeze, and realized with horror.
“It’s my mother’s apartment! It’s on fire!”
Bianca almost ran toward the building as the realization hit her, but Dave quickly grabbed her arm from behind. “It’s too risky!” he said.
“My mother is in there! I need to save her!”
Bianca screamed, unable to believe what she was seeing. The fire was consuming her mother’s apartment, and her mother was still inside, waiting for her return.
“Going in there is like running straight into danger!” Dave exclaimed, recalling the tragic end of his own parents. He couldn’t let Bianca put herself at risk. “Just hold on! The fire trucks are on their way!”
But Bianca was frantic, ignoring his words as she dashed toward the building.
All she could think about was saving her mother from the raging flames. She knew that the longer her mother stayed inside, the more danger she was in.
She struggled to break free from Dave’s strong grip, but he wouldn’t let go.
In her desperation, Bianca grabbed his arm and bit it as hard as she could.
Without thinking about the pain she was causing him, her bite made Dave loosen his hold just enough for her to escape. She rushed into the fire, driven by her need to save her mother.
