Chapter 1486: Hex Mage

Due to the spatial suppression in the Enchanted Realm, the flight talisman’s duration was very short, forcing Leo and his companion back to the ground.
While moving on the ground, they encountered some Espers.
Leo had no interest in Espers who hadn’t obtained the Everlife Fruit; for those who had, he would rob them without hesitation.
After traveling seven or eight kilometers, they reached the depths of the dense forest.
Just as they were about to give up on finding the Everlife Fruit they had seen earlier, it floated down from the sky.
It seemed the Everlife Fruit’s flight energy had been exhausted and it was about to fall into the soil.
Before it hit the ground, Leo grabbed it.
Luck was on their side; they had obtained their tenth Everlife Fruit.
As Leo caught the Everlife Fruit, a powerful wave of combat energy emanated from afar.
This was followed by a strange bird-like cry.
Hearing the cry, Violet’s face changed. She said to Leo, “Leo, that’s Elder Harrison using his combat skills. They must be in trouble.”
“Let’s go quickly.”
Leo grabbed Violet’s hand and rushed towards the source of the disturbance.
Passing through the dense forest, their view suddenly opened up.
The scene in the clearing ahead made both Leo and Violet’s faces change.
There were two battle zones ahead. In one, four people were fighting fiercely.
Two of them were Violet’s father, Donovan Coleman, and Elder Harrison.
Their opponents were two burly men over two meters tall!
Not only were these men tall, but their muscles were comparable to bodybuilders.
Most notably, their skin was a bronze color, making them look like two giant bronze statues.
Leo noticed their eyes. When he saw the black light emanating from them, his expression hardened.
These guys weren’t alive; they were puppets.
The bronze puppets were filled with explosive power. Each punch carried strong wind and corrosive black energy.
Additionally, their resistance to attacks was abnormal. Donovan Coleman and Harrison Coleman’s attacks couldn’t seriously injure or destroy them.
In the other battle zone were Holden Coleman, Aimee Coleman, and Meigetsu.
Their opponent was a small, hunched old man.
The old man wore a hemp robe and had strange tattoos on his face. He wore a skull earring on one ear.
Beside him lay a corpse covered in various poisonous creatures like snakes, centipedes, and spiders.
The battle seemed to have paused temporarily. Holden Coleman and his group looked at the old man with hatred.
Meigetsu sat cross-legged on the ground, her face alternating between red and black, clearly poisoned.
Elder Frederick sat behind her, helping her expel the toxins from her body.
“Kaen!” Violet exclaimed in shock upon seeing the face of the corpse on the ground.
Leo’s face also turned icy cold.
They both rushed towards Holden Coleman and his group.
“Violet, Leo!”
Holden Coleman and Aimee Coleman’s eyes lit up at their arrival.
Violet quickly asked, “Holden Coleman, what happened? How did Kaen… Who is that old man?”
Holden Coleman replied solemnly, “That old man is a Hex Mage from Siam. He killed Kaen and tried to steal our Spirit Medicine and Everlife Fruit.”
“The old man’s abilities are extremely sinister. He can control poisonous creatures and puppets. After Kaen died in battle, Meigetsu was poisoned.”
While Holden Coleman explained, Leo walked over to Meigetsu and took out a small porcelain bottle. He poured out a brown pill and handed it to her.
“Meigetsu, this is an antidote I made. Take it quickly,” Leo said.
Meigetsu opened her eyes slightly, looked at Leo, and opened her mouth.
Leo flicked the pill into her mouth.
The pill melted instantly, and its medicinal power quickly spread throughout Meigetsu’s body along her blood vessels and meridians.
Two or three minutes later, Meigetsu spat out a mouthful of black blood. Her pale face regained some color.
“Thank you, Leo,” Meigetsu said gratefully after successfully detoxifying herself and standing up.
Elder Frederick also stood up behind her. His previously cold gaze towards Leo softened considerably.
“Meigetsu, Elder Frederick, take a rest. I’ll deal with this Hex Mage from Siam,” Leo said as he turned to face the old man.
Kaen’s death filled Leo with murderous intent.
He extended his right hand, summoning the Divine Dragon Sword.
Just as he was about to attack, Holden Coleman hurriedly reminded him, “Brother Leo, that old man’s attacks are extremely sinister. Be careful.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll avenge Kaen,” Leo replied before charging towards Keso.
As Leo detoxified Meigetsu, Keso focused his attention on him.
Keso’s intuition told him that this young man was not simple.
But Keso wasn’t afraid. To him, Atraria’s Martial Cultivators were all trash.
As Leo rushed at him, Keso took out a short flute from his waist and began to play it.
The sound was as unpleasant as could be.
As soon as the flute sounded, the poisonous creatures on the ground-snakes, centipedes, scorpions-turned their attention to Leo.
With a shift in the flute’s tone, the creatures leapt from the ground towards Leo.
Leo immediately activated a defensive talisman.
A blue water shield appeared out of thin air in front of him.
The attacking creatures were all knocked back by the water shield.
However, many of them sprayed venom at the shield as they were repelled.
The venom began to corrode the shield, producing black smoke.
Leo formed a hand seal with his left hand and unleashed dozens of wind blades with his Spiritual Power.
The airborne creatures were shredded into pieces by the wind blades before they could land.
Blood, limbs, flesh, and venom mixed on the ground in a disgusting mess.
After eliminating the attacking creatures, Leo closed in on Keso again.
“Hmph, ignorant fool,” Keso sneered as he pulled out three black balls from his waist pouch and threw them at Leo.
Holden Coleman quickly warned from behind Leo, “Be careful! The black balls explode into toxic mist that obscures vision!”
