Angel POV.
“I can’t wait for Christmas,” I sang the whole day, we’re off work, we get a day off since it’s almost Christmas, even the school is closed, it’s not a full school yet, it’s just a couple class but soon, soon my love, I think to myself with a chuckle.
“You need to be dressed by now, I sent Daddy here twenty minutes ago,” Papa says coming toward my room where I’ve been hiding, I love my red onesie and I don’t want to take it off yet, why won’t they just take me like that.
“I’m ready,” I say with a shrug, I could go like that, but he shook his head no and went toward the closet picking clothes for me.
“You want comfy or cute?” he asks me, meaning I want sweat and a hoodie or maybe a dress or skirt to look very cute.
“Comfy,” I say, but I was very comfortable in my PJ.
“Good choice, we’re going shopping,” he says with a big smile on his face, we’re gonna go to Christmas shopping, I’m not sure what that includes, I have never done that kind of shopping.
“Come on, hands up,” he says taking my current clothes off me and putting the new shirt over my head, I’m wearing pull-ups full time now, I have accidents very often and I’m not good going without them now.
“I need to brush your hair, don’t you dare run,” he warned me, I tend to run as soon as the brush comes out.
“Nu-uh,” I say and take off running, I don’t like having my hair brushed.
I managed to get out of my room and made it out of their door, but sadly for me, although I’m a vampire now, much faster than a human but I’m not that fast compared to them, they caught me very easily, and I was brought back toward their bedroom so my hair can be brushed, it’s longer now, much longer, it’s down to my shoulders now, and it could be styled in different ways and they love adding ribbons and clips into my hair.
“There, all ready,” Papa says happily, the one thing I always skip now that I’m a vampire is perfume, the smell is too strong for me now, they told me when I get older, I’d learn to tolerate it and even get a favourite scent or two, but for now all perfumes are banned from the house for my safety.
We got in the car and they drove toward a big shop, we don’t do much of shopping, except for the one where I get clothes or a couple of treats of fast food, the shop looked giant, I guess it’s one of the new shops that have opened after the takeover.
We got out of the car and we all walked in holding hands, they got a cart and placed me inside it, I didn’t mind, I’d get the princess treatment here. We started moving down the shop, they had everything, and I could see the part in the shop where they got part dedicated to pets and submissives and others, but we kept avoiding those, we went toward the Christmas trees.
“Since the war, we don’t have real trees anymore, they aren’t safe to bring inside, but what do you think Angie? You want the big tree or the bigger tree?” Papa asks me, as we look at the trees there are a million different kinds and it’s very hard to pick one.
“I like this one,” Papa says pointing to a white tree, I know I never had a tree before but I know it has to be green, I shook my head no at it.
“Why not just bring a pink tree and celebrate the fact that we got a princess in the house,” Daddy says with an eye roll.
“A rainbow one and celebrate that we’re gays,” Logan says clapping his hands and it was my turn to roll my eyes at them, thankfully they kept on moving and I pointed to one tree I liked, it’s green and big enough to be visible in their giant house and it’s just classical, I’m sure we could decorate it like we want to.
“You like this one?” Daddy asks and I nod.
“It’s green, classic and good size,” Papa says.
“It’s perfect let’s go,” Daddy agrees on the tree I picked, they had to scan the code of the one we picked and then we kept going.
“Now we need ornament,” Papa says happily, there’s every colour you could imagine.
“Every year I and your daddy get to pick one colour, and he always picks the same one,” Papa says with a sigh, I turn to Daddy to see what his colour of choice is.
“Black,” daddy says with a smile on his face.
“What colour do you want baby?” Papa asks me next, I had to think they should’ve told me before we got here so I could think this through.
“Red!” I say happily, it’s the most classic one and it’s a safe choice.
“I’ll take silver,” Papa says getting me out of the cart.
“Go wild, pick the one you like and throw it in the cart, we never had a perfect tree, and we’re not going to start this year,” Daddy says with a smile.
I walked near Daddy first, he went toward the black ornament and decoration, but I wanted red, and staying near him wasn’t going to work, we’re still in the same aisle, and I could see them and they could see me, it should be safe to move a bit away from them. I found the red colour and picked different ones, they varied in size, and some had glitter on them and others were a solid colour.
I found more decoration that I liked, it wasn’t red, but it was one that I loved so I picked those as well, and threw them in the cart, by the time we were done the cart was full and there wasn’t any place for me to sit anymore, so I walked for the rest of the shopping spree.
“We still need the star, you can pick it little star,” Papa said and I felt very honoured to pick the star, I looked around the whole store, and it took me a solid ten minutes to pick the perfect big golden star to top our tree.
“Do you want to pick some gifts for your friends? William? Dylan?” Papa asks and I nod, they deserve gifts as well, I picked stuffies and toys for my friends, they are in the school now, but they are still my friends, I’m happy to announce that Lyssa has found a daddy, and they’re both still learning how to not kill each other and be happy together.
For William and Dylan, I picked stories and books, I picked some clothes and they deserved some stuffies as well, so I got them those too, by the time we were done I was exhausted, and I was too happy about leaving finally.
They paid for everything using Daddy’s credit card, our favourite paying method, we got all of our stuff and the tree and got in the car, it was fully packed but it was packed in a good way, it’s Christmas, and we should go all out.
When we got home, daddy and papa set the tree, I sat back and watched them do it, they had a couple of fights trying to set the tree my most favourite one was ‘You’re a detective can’t you figure out a tree!’ Logan says. ‘You’re a head of department, or should I get one of your littles to do it?’ Daddy answered him and I laughed at them as they kept on fighting, but the tree was up.
“All set princess,” Daddy says when they are done, tree and a show, it was very fun to watch.
I started to place the ornament we got, it was weird, they shifted in colour and theme, I picked a Gingerman ornament and Daddy picked a Batman one while Papa went with a ballerina, it was a mismatched situation in here, but it was a pretty tree.
“Up, up,” I whined to daddy wanting to put my ornament up in the tree, he picked me up and I managed to put them up higher.
“Now, to the star,” Papa says, they both held me up and I placed it right on top of the tree.
“So what do you think princess?” Daddy asked me while I looked at the crazy-looking tree.
“It’s perfect,” I say with a big smile on my face.
“We have one last surprise for you, Angel,” Daddy says, I was so happy, I could fly.
“Another one?” I ask them with wide eyes.
“Yeah, we don’t want to offend you, but we need to tell you something,” Papa says.
“What is it?” I ask worried they’re going to put me out for adoption now.
“Well… Angel, you know how sensitive your name is to you?” Daddy starts and I nod, I was named after a stripper, no one loves that.
“Yeah,” I say answering him.
“Well we’re working on getting you a new ID, and there’s a thing we could do,” Papa says looking at Daddy for help.
“We can… well you can… if you want to, you can change your name,” Daddy says sounding very worried, they have either made up my Christmas or ruined it.
“I can pick any name?” I ask them.
“Of course, anything, as long as it’s appropriate,” Papa adds.
“I want to change it,” I say, they made my Christmas.
“What would you like it to be,” he asks me.
“I… I…” I stumble, it’s not the first time that I think of that, and I know that I have a name picked already.
“Yes, princess,” Papa says with a smile.
“I want to be… Elizabeth Piper,” I say, it’s the name I wanted for too long.
“But you can still be my angel? my angel Elizabeth?” Daddy asks and I nod, it sounded like a nickname and not my real name anymore, I liked it.
“We’ll work on the papers then,” Papa says with a smile on his face.
“Thank you,” I say going to give them both a tight hug, they changed my whole life, they made it perfect.
“Let me file the papers before I start crying,” Papa says wiping his tears away while Daddy is doing a terrible job at hiding the fact that he’s sobbing.
“Excuse us for a second baby Elizabeth Piper Black, we need a moment,” Papa says taking Daddy along with him, I sighed happily and looked back at the tree, it was perfect.
I walked toward the tree and started messing with the ornament, now that they’re all over it, I could just tweak and change a couple of ones, fixing their placement, I had a giant smile on my face, and I was super happy, until the tree that wasn’t set very well started shaking, I tried to take a step back but the tree was much faster, and it fell right over me making me scream out loud, I heard footsteps running toward me… Step one after becoming Elizabeth officially, I’m killing my two daddies.
The end.
