The ground trembled, and the two instinctively turned around to see dozens of large red-furred wolves charging towards them. The wolves’ eyes were blood-red, and their fur seemed to be ablaze, running at an incredible speed.
“Leo!” Violet’s face changed, thinking the wolves were coming for them.
Leo reassured her, “Don’t worry, these red-furred wolves aren’t after us.”
He took Violet’s small hand and quickly leaped onto a nearby large tree. The wolves rushed to where Leo and Violet had been standing and then continued towards the center of the Enchanted Realm.
“Leo, what are these red-furred wolves after?” Violet asked, puzzled.
“They’re probably heading for the Everlife Tree at the center of the Enchanted Realm. We need to hurry so we don’t miss the Everlife Fruit,” Leo replied.
They jumped down from the tree and continued towards the center of the Enchanted Realm. Milky white mist spread from the center outward, and any beast that inhaled it became frenzied and bloodshot-eyed, instinctively gathering towards the center.
Not only Leo and Violet but almost everyone who entered the Enchanted Realm was heading towards its center. The closer they got, the stronger the strange fragrance became, intensifying their inexplicable desire.
After more than ten minutes, Leo and Violet were close to the center. Leo, being cautious, didn’t rush to find the Everlife Tree but instead took Violet up the tallest nearby tree.
From their vantage point, they saw a towering tree about seventy to eighty meters high and as thick as ten people could encircle. The tree was lush and vibrant, with some white fruits nestled among its green leaves. Despite its size, the white fruits were small, about the size of pears.
At the base of the tree was a large pool of red liquid, bubbling continuously, from which the milky white mist emanated. The sight of the giant tree, white fruits, and red pool left Leo in awe.
“Everlife Tree, Everlife Fruit…” Leo murmured to himself.
At that moment, a herd of beasts charged towards the pool. To Leo and Violet’s astonishment, the beasts began jumping into the pool, not to bathe but to commit suicide! Their bodies quickly dissolved in the red liquid within seconds, leaving no trace behind.
This scene shattered Violet’s understanding, making her face turn pale. Soon, all the beasts had disappeared into the red pool, becoming nutrients for the giant tree. The tree’s branches began to turn red, with a faint red fluid flowing within them, confirming Leo’s suspicion that the tree was nourished by the beasts.
As the tree absorbed the nutrients, its leaves became greener, and the Everlife Fruits grew more translucent and mature. The strange fragrance likely had a strong hallucinogenic effect on the beasts, driving them to lose their minds and jump into the pool to be dissolved into nutrients.
Leo also noticed that the large pool beneath the tree was not naturally formed. There must be a hidden secret within this Enchanted Realm.
Within five or six minutes, all the beasts had melted into the red pool, leaving nothing behind. Around the pool, many figures appeared in the trees, watching the bizarre sacrificial scene like Leo and Violet.
Once the beast sacrifice was over, their eyes turned to the Everlife Fruit. Despite the giant tree’s size, there were only about forty Everlife Fruits. Leo counted roughly forty fruits and noticed Werewolf and Orientian among those watching, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
“Violet, once the Everlife Fruit fully matures, we need to grab it immediately,” Leo said to Violet.
When fully mature, Everlife Fruits would detach from their branches and fly around before falling and dissolving.
“Got it,” Violet nodded obediently.
To their southwest stood three wolf princes: Augustus, Nicholas, and Oliver. Nicholas stared at the Everlife Fruit with intense desire. “Everlife Fruit… once we consume it, we should be able to break through our ten-meter bloodline limit,” he said, licking his lips.
Augustus nodded in agreement, his eyes filled with greed and fervor. Having consumed holy liquid before reaching his ten-meter bloodline limit bottleneck, Augustus believed that just one bite of Everlife Fruit would allow him to break through and significantly enhance his strength.
Hundreds of people were hidden in trees around the giant tree, but there were only about forty fruits. This scarcity meant that when the fruits matured, a fierce battle would ensue.
Everyone held their breath, waiting for the moment when the Everlife Fruits would fully mature. Suddenly, a gentle breeze rustled through the tree’s leaves like green waves. Over forty Everlife Fruits began to emit a bright white light, resembling white lanterns among green leaves.
As the light dimmed, one Everlife Fruit detached from its branch. Then came a second fruit, followed by a third…
This was what everyone had been waiting for. Figures darted from tree branches towards the Everlife Fruits at top speed. The battle for possession had begun.
Leo cast Gale Talisman on himself and Violet and joined in the scramble for Everlife Fruits. Moving like lightning, Leo reached out and grabbed one fruit before storing it in his spatial storage talisman.
Seeing that Violet hadn’t yet caught an Everlife Fruit, Leo rushed towards her direction. Unexpectedly, the fruit Violet was chasing sped up and flew into a nearby ravine. Just as she was about to catch it, it suddenly accelerated and dove into a thicket below.
