“Love, please don’t remove the shattered glasses on the floor and let the maid do it.”
“What came into your mind, Mister, that even the flat-screen TV which was just hanging on the wall and has nothing to do with you, but you screwed it and fucking destroyed?” my voice was a bit loud.
“Oh, love, I’m sorry. I’ll just buy you a new one.”
“Huh! Buy a new one—”
I turned around only to see him with a towel loosely hanging at his waist. I gulped when my eyes landed on his toned, muscular chest, down to his six-pack abs and to the sinful v-shaped line that visibly showed to my naked eyes.
And when I glanced at his face, I noticed the smirk that playing on it.
“You’re drooling, love.”
“Tss! Wow!” I exclaimed with a sneer. “Excuse me Mr. Wilsons, but can you kindly put down your self-esteem even for a second? I admit, you are handsome, your sexy and I love you, but I also need your help to clean up all your mess inside this whole room!” I raised an eyebrow as I put both hands on my hips.
He laughed in his boyish, carefree laugh, that I missed so much.
“I love you too, my beautiful wife, and thank you for calling me handsome and for appreciating my sexiness. Don’t worry, these are all yours.” I can’t help but chuckle when he winked at me.
“Gosh! Can you put on some clothes?”
-‘ You’re distracting my thoughts!’- I silently added.
“Okay, I’ll be there in a minute.” he winked again before he closed the bathroom door.
I sighed loudly and a smile of happiness crept onto my lips as I remembered all the happenings of the past few days and not to mention what had happened earlier. It’s funny to think that we’re now back to what we were before as if nothing had happened. This is it. This is the beginning of it all. I’m now accepting my title and my name, but of course with still the same tag. ‘I am Mrs. Madielyn Davis-Wilsons, the ever beautiful, confident, and strong Madi Wilsons.’

“Wow!”
Nancy exclaimed, grinning widely when she and Martin saw us walking hand and hand down the stairs. Gabriel looked at me and gave me a loving smile.
“So, does that means you two were okay now?” But then she suddenly raised both palms in the air. “You don’t actually need to answer that! Hmmp! I already knew the answer based on my brother’s grin.”
And her brother just gave her a throaty laugh.
“Oww… congratulations!” she squealed and hugged me excitedly before her brother. “I hope you two can now be happy with each other. And please, no more dramas again! You’re both like teenagers nowadays, gosh!”
Gabriel and I both chuckled when she rolled her eyes.
“Congratulations babe—Oh, I mean Madi.” Martin’s eyes widened when the two glared at him. “Congratulations Gabriel and Madi,” he said scratching the back of his neck. “Uhm… can I hug her?” he asked, pointing to me while his eyes were moving from Nancy to Gabriel.
I glanced at Gabriel and found him seriously looking at Martin.
“Yes, but for a second!”
“A second?”
“Gabriel?”
Both Martin and I snapped at him in unison.
“What will happen in just a second?” Martin complained, crunching his face. “I couldn’t even wrap her in my arms!”
“Fine! Five seconds!”
“Okay.” Martin said with a shrug.”That’s better than a second.” and he winked at me.
I smiled but Gabriel pulled me to him when Martin was about to hug me.
“You winked at her, and that’s enough! No more hugs!”
“What?” Martin’s asked with his round eyes as if he couldn’t believe what Gabriel said.
Nancy just chuckled and shook her head.
“Gabriel, it’s just a hug,” I said patting his hand on my waist.
“Okay fine, but just a hug and strictly NO kiss!”
“Whatever.” then Martin finally pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. “Congratulations, Madi. I wish.. no, I hope you always remain happy. And don’t worry, I will always be your friend and your buddy. Just call me or text me if you need someone to talk to, and I will fly here from Colorado right away!”
“Hmm… you’ll do that for me?”
“Of course! You know how much our friendship means to me.”
“Thank you, Martin. But we’re still going to talk about our business there.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“Okay, that’s enough. Five seconds is finally over!” Gabriel patted him on the shoulder.
And he just rolled his eyes when he pulled back from our hug. I too was immediately pulled and Gabriel’s arms wrapped around me from behind. He also kissed me on the cheek as he put his head on my shoulder. I looked at him and gave him a peck on his lips.
After an hour of chatting and teasing, Nancy and I both decided to prepare our food for dinner, while the two boys were left in the living room.
“Thank you, Sissy.”
I stopped cutting the vegetables when I felt Nancy’s hand on my arm and I looked at her.
“Thanks for what?” I asked her with a smile.
“Thank you for coming back to my brother’s life. I was just dreaming of this thing to happen before that you and Gab will be together in the future, that he will move on from the anger he had towards his ex and that you two will finally admit your feelings for each other. And now it’s finally happened. Thank you so much, Sissy, not just for waiting for him but for staying in love with him.”
I smiled and patted her hand.
“Well, thanks to my heart. Because she chooses to stay in love with your brother. He’s my first love, you know. At the age of twenty-six, I fell in love and got my first kiss.”
We both chuckled and continued what we were doing.

Saturday morning at Davis mansion in Colorado:
“Gabriel Wilsons, we finally met.”
That was my father’s first sentence when I introduced my husband to him.
“It is a pleasure meeting you, Sir,” Gabriel said and held out his hand for a handshake.
I can hear the loud beating of my heart inside my chest while waiting for my Dad to accept his hand. I remember the last time I told him about our marriage and he went berserk. But this time, it’s a different situation, and I guess my brother has already told him about our relationship status.
“I’ve heard a lot about you, Mr. Wilsons.” finally, he accepted Gabriel’s hand but ignored his greetings.
“You can also call me Gabriel, Sir.” I noticed how tense he was as he talked to my father.
“Good. Gabriel, as I was saying I’ve heard a lot about you. The well-known ‘devil’ in the business industry in Chicago, and who owns almost sixty percent of the state.”
I don’t know why my Dad needs to mention those things.
“The famous Gabriel Wilsons, top bachelor in his generation and the same man who offered my daughter a deal that ended with them being a couple. And who—–”
“Dad?”
“Honey?”
Chesca and I both snapped at him when he mentioned our past agreement. Gabriel also stiffened in his seat when he heard my Dad’s words.
“What? I’m just stating the truth.” he shrugged.
“Yes, but as you can see, they were now okay. So, what’s the point of mentioning the past if they’re here in front of you with intertwined hands? It’s in the past, honey.”
A small smile crept on my lips when Chesca started to blow up on him.
-‘Thanks Chesca’- I silently sent her through my smile and she winked at me.
“It’s okay, Mrs. Davis,” Gabriel said with an awkward smile.
“No, sweetie, you made those mistakes before, but the important thing right now is that you’ve also done those things right. You’ve learned your lesson and you chased our Madi back.”
“Yeah, I-I am truly sorry for all the tears I’ve brought to your daughter, Sir.” he faced me and held my hand. “I know I was a total jerk before and I let her go without her knowing about my feelings.” he faced my Dad again. “But there’s only one thing I can promise you from now on, Sir. I will never let go of her hand ever again. I will love her ’till my last breath and give her all the love and happiness that she deserves.” he ended with a confident smile and kissed my forehead right in front of my father.
But my Dad remained quiet and just watched how Gabriel held my hand. He sighed after a few seconds of being silent.
“May I speak to you privately, Gabriel? Man to man and a father-in-law to his new son-in-law?” my Dad said as he stand and motioned for him to follow him into the study room.
“My pleasure, Sir,” Gabriel said and gave me a peck on my lips before following my father.
I closed my eyes when they entered the study room, I even sighed loudly in front of my stepmother. I heard her chuckle and she stood up to shift her seat next to me. She took my hand and gave me a motherly smile.
“It’s okay, Madi. That was just your Dad’s defense mechanism to fight his sadness deep inside. He’s been also like that when your sister introduced Joey to him, but eventually, he accepted the man. I have no doubts that he will accept Gabriel too. Bryan told us what happened to the three of you in his bar in Chicago. And he laughed the whole time when he started to tell us the story.”
I scrunched my eyebrows. “He laughed?”
“Yes, he truly admired your husband’s possessiveness towards you, that he could kill anyone who touches you. And at that time, I started believing that this man really loves you.”
I smiled after hearing what she said.
“And we also heard his efforts of showing you how much he loves you, the flowers in your restaurants, and all his dramas just to have you back again.” she chuckled which confused me.
“H-How did you know about that?”
“Your father sent some men in Chica—-ohh!” her eyes widened.. maybe in the realization that it wasn’t supposed to be said. But it’s too late, she has already spilled the beans.
“Haha… you mean to say, ‘my Dad’ sent some of his men to check on me and get all the information about Gabriel.”
“Oh, sweetie, that’s not what he meant by sending someone to know what’s going about you. He loves you, and he was also affected when you told him that you’re already married. He just wanted to make sure that you’re in good hands with your husband and that you’re out of danger as well.”
Well, I understand their reasons. But I started to ask myself… when will my parents stop sending people to spy on me?
“You know what I mean, you’re not just a simple person Madi, with a simple life in Chicago because behind that lifestyle you have, you are the heir to one of the biggest companies in Florida, the daughter, and sister of the top businessmen in Colorado, and of course, you’re the wife of the famous Gabriel Wilsons in Chicago. Your Dad can’t afford to lose you. And trust me, because of that he can now sleep peacefully at night.”
And because I don’t know what to say, I just hugged her. She has been a second mother to me all these years. She accepted me and never showed me that I was just the fruit of her husband’s mistakes in the past.
“Thank you Chesca, or should I say Aunt Chesca.” I smiled at her when I pulled back.
“Ohh, don’t mention it. You’re also my daughter.” she also smiled at me.
We continued our chat while waiting for the two men to finish their one-on-one interview.

Gabriel’s POV:
I followed Mr. Davis inside the study room. I roamed my eyes around, taking a deep breath every minute as I was waiting for him to sit down and start our conversation.
“So, how are you, Gabriel?” I gulped when he was finally seated in front of me. He gave me a glass of wine.
How would I answer that question?
“Ahm, honestly I’m nervous, Sir.” And I gave him a nervous laugh. It’s true, I felt nervous for the first time in my life.
“Hmm… don’t be, I won’t eat you. I just want to talk to you.”
I smiled at him. I know it was just a joke but I still couldn’t help but feel the tension inside the room. Or it’s just me feeling tense with a man in front of me who is none other than my father-in-law?
“I admit that when I came to know about your deal with my daughter, I really wanted to kill you.” he seriously said while looking directly at me. “My daughter came here three years ago, heartbroken and with swollen eyes. She told me that she fell in love with her husband, but she need to stop herself from loving him because she said it was wrong. I asked her why and how did it become wrong to love her own husband? But you know what answered me? She said that they were just married because of the deal, and her husband doesn’t know about her feelings toward him. And then she explained to me everything.”
He paused as he chuckled and shook his head.
“And because I am a parent, Gabriel, for me it was all wrong since the very beginning. You offered my daughter a fucking agreement! You asked her to marry you just to get your ex back! That was a big foul! A huge mistake and a total fuck move! You used my daughter for your own selfish plan!”
I didn’t mutter a word or didn’t intend to say anything, because what he said was all true.
“But you know because of that, you served as my living conscience. You made me rethink all the mistakes I made before. That once in my life, I was also in the same situation as you. So I realized, who am I to judge you? Who am I to judge someone’s mistake if I, myself did the same thing or more than that before?”
I smiled when he patted my knee… a smile of relief.
“And I’m proud of you Gabriel. How you accepted your mistakes and how you fixed all those things. You never stopped chasing my daughter. I know everything and don’t ask me how I found out, because you’re also a businessman and you already know what I mean. You surprised me with all your efforts just to get her back. And seeing you right here with my daughter, you made me more proud of your actions, son.”
My face instantly lightened up upon hearing his last word.
“Thank you, Sir. You don’t know how much your words mean to me.”
“No son, I should be the one who must say thank you, for your being a man and for showing yourself here. Especially for loving my daughter and for taking care of her.”
“You don’t have to thank me for that matter, Sir. I love your daughter and I will do everything to make her happy. And of course, I still apologize for all my mistakes that made her cry. But I promise from this day on, that I will make her smile every day and every moment of our life together.”
He nodded, giving me a smile of appreciation.
“I’ll count on your words. But I just have one favor to ask, son.”
“Yes, Sir?”
“Oh come on, just call me Dad. I already welcomed you into the family.”
“Okay, Dad.” I chuckled. “So, about your favor?”
“Uhuh! If it’s not too much to ask, can you get my daughter pregnant as soon as possible?”
My mouth fell in mid-air, but when it finally registered in my head, I just found myself laughing together with him.
“You know, I’m getting old and I want you to give us as many grandchildren as possible. My daughter is not getting any younger and so is her father. So, start it right now as you now have my permission!”
I chuckled and nodded at him. We ended our conversation with a smile and a light mood on both faces. When we got back outside, we found Madi and Mrs. Davis in the kitchen.
And I couldn’t help the happy and contented smile formed on my lips when I saw how happy my wife was. Her laugh seemed music to both my ears. She was busy cutting the chocolate cake on the table and didn’t notice my presence even when I walked closer to her.
She gasped when she felt my arms wrapped around her waist from behind. I just chuckled and turned her around so she was now facing me.
“I love you, Mrs. Wilsons,” I said and didn’t wait for her to respond as I cupped both her cheeks and sealed her lips with a passionate kiss.
“Huh! That’s a breathtaking kiss!” her eyes were wide open and her cheeks were on a shade of thousands of red tomatoes.
I laughed at her reaction and I pulled her into a hug. She hugged me back and whispered softly to my ear the words that I’d been dying to hear every minute and every second of my life since I realized how much I love her.
“I love you too, Mr. Wilsons.”
