The nurse cleaned up Yayoi’s wound, wrapped it up with gauze, and then told her to try not to let it get wet.
She thanked the nurse and got up to leave the nurses’ station.
In the long corridor, the flickering lights shone down silently as Yayoi walked towards Rosiley slowly.
Thinking that a certain someone was still there, she did not feel like going back. However, she could not leave just like that, as Rosiley would find it suspicious.
When she was about to reach the ward, someone opened the door and came out.
It was Morphy.
She stopped in her tracks and turned around subconsciously.
“Yayoi.” He called her name.
She felt her back freezing and she clenched her fists tightly to suppress the turmoil in her heart. Then, she looked up at him coldly and said, “What’s the matter, Mr. Shen?”
Morphy did not answer her. Instead, he walked closer to her. His gaze swept across the bandage on her hand and a tint of heartache appeared in his eyes.
“Why were you so careless?” he asked softly.
His tone was very gentle. Yayoi was stunned for a moment. However, she soon recovered and said coldly, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go in and keep Rosiley company.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she walked past him. Suddenly, the area around her wrist tightened.
In the next second, she fell into a warm embrace.
“Morphy, let me go.” She struggled.
“I won’t.” Morphy hugged her tightly.
If it were not for the environment they were in, she would have shouted “pervert” already.
Her nostrils were filled with his clear and pleasant breath. Her eyes turned red uncontrollably. He could not give her the love she wanted, and yet he still provoked her like this. How could he do this to her?
She sniffed and calmed down her chaotic heart, then said sarcastically, “Mr. Shen, don’t you think it’s shameful for a big man like you to pester a woman?”
“I’m happy to do it.” His answer was meant to provoke.
Yayoi was pissed. “Morphy, don’t go too far.”
Morphy lowered his head and his gaze was glued on her angry, pretty face. The corners of his lips curled. “Yayoi, I’ll cancel my engagement. Will you promise to be my girlfriend?”
Cancel the engagement? Yayoi was shocked. “Have you gone mad?”
“I’m not. sister-in-law was right. This is my own life, my own happiness, and you are my happiness. I have to fight for it.”
He had thought that she would be moved by what he said. However, she only asked calmly, “Rosiley already knows?”
“Yea, she knows.”
“Sh*t!” She cursed and pushed him away harshly before entering the ward in quick strides.
Rosiley, who was reading a book, looked up when she heard the rushed footsteps. When she saw Yayoi running in, she raised her brows, closed the book, and asked with a gentle smile, “What’s wrong?”
Yayoi ran to her. While gasping slightly, she asked probingly, “You found out everything?”
Rosiley understood what she was asking about and nodded with a smile. “Yes, I know everything.”
“Sh*t!” Yayoi cursed angrily in a low voice.
“Why? You don’t want me to know?”
Seeing her so annoyed, it seemed as if it was a very serious matter.
Yayoi bit her lip, shook her head, and denied it, saying, “No, it’s just…”
She did not know what to say. Yayoi did not want to keep such a thing from her deliberately, it was just that she was too embarrassed to bring it up.
After knowing her for so many years, how could Rosiley still not understand her thoughts?
Rosiley looked at her with a gentle gaze. “Yayoi, I know what you’re worried about, so you don’t have to feel… embarrassed, or anything like that.”
