What’s happening here?” Crystal whispered as she entered the office, causing them to stare at her in shock.
“Oh no,” Damien whispered.
“Oh, hi there, baby girl,” Liam grinned.
“Sir, the guests are here. The meeting will be starting in five minutes,” the secretary interrupted, cutting off Crystal before she could ask what was going on.
“I guess I have to leave now. Don’t be late to the meeting, dude. See you later, baby girl,” Liam said, kissing the back of her hand.
“Mi corazon,” Damien whispered seductively.
“I brought you some food, but you should probably leave for your meeting now,” Crystal said.
“I can cancel it,” Damien murmured.
“No! I’m not going anywhere, and neither is the food,” she added.
Damien nodded, pecked her forehead, and left.
She sat down in the office, looking around and admiring things.
“He must really have a thing for black,” she thought, noticing that most of the things in his office were black.
“Crystal!” Max tapped her, causing her to jump in fear.
“Oh my goodness, you scared me. How did you get in?” she exclaimed.
“I walked in. How else am I supposed to get in?” Max teased.
“I mean, when did you get here? I didn’t even hear your footsteps,” Crystal asked.
“Well, I am a bat,” he chuckled.
“Give me some food, please. I have been thinking about it a lot,” Max pleaded.
“You had some at home. This one is for Damien,” she scoffed.
“He can’t even finish that much. Just let me have some, please,” Max said, pouting his lips.
“Whether he can finish it or not is up to him. If he can’t finish it, then you can have it,” she refused.
“Please.”
“No.”
“Pretty please.”
“No.”
“Crystal.”
“No.”
“Crys…”
“Do you want me to report you to Damien that you’re frustrating me?”
“No.”
He suddenly chuckled.
“What’s funny?” she asked, looking at him curiously.
“You are,” he said, smiling.
“How?” she frowned.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen Damien get stressed over something or someone. Damien is the kind of person who kills to solve problems. Once he gets upset or stressed over someone, that person won’t live to see another day,” Max began.
“He was very stressed over the argument you guys had that night, and I must say I am very shocked to see you alive,” he added.
His voice sent shivers of fear down her spine.
“Even without knowing, you have managed to make a great impact on him. He’s even changing slowly,” Max said, looking into Crystal’s eyes as she listened attentively.
“Damien never forgives people. Once they offend him, it’s either they kill themselves or he slaughters them mercilessly. He derives joy from seeing blood,” he was trying to scare her, thinking she was going to back out.
Even though he knew she wasn’t a bad person or after Damien’s money, it was only fair she knows how Damien is.
“Then why didn’t he kill you when you offended him?” she questioned him, leaving Max in total shock.
He never expected her to think like that.
“You see, Max, perhaps you’re right. He might derive joy in killing or seeing blood, but I believe everyone deserves a chance. The same way you gave Aiden a chance,” she said, leaving Max totally speechless.
She had managed to make him speechless. He just stared at her with no words coming from his mouth.
“Why are you so pure and innocent?” he whispered.
He stared at her, moving his head a little to the side.
“Your eyes! I have seen them before,” he said, noticing her eye color for the first time.
“Oh, I have my mother’s eyes. And I am not sure you have seen her before,” she replied.
“No,” he whispered, moving close to her.
He used his hand to cover her forehead and mouth, leaving only her eyes exposed.
He gasped out in shock as he fell from his seat in fear.
“No, no, it can’t be,” he whispered in fear.
“Max, is something wrong with my eyes?” Crystal asked in fear and worry.
“No, there’s nothing wrong with them,” Damien said, entering the room with Liam beside him.
He stood in front of Crystal, blocking her view from Max.
“Max, leave now,” he commanded.
Crystal wanted to say something, but Damien quickly shut him up.
“Where’s the food? I am starving,” he groaned.
“I won’t be eating poison with you!” Liam frowned.
“I didn’t even offer you. You should probably leave now,” Damien responded.
Crystal smiled as they argued, d
ishing out a portion for Damien.
“Y-y-you made paella?” he said shockingly as his eyes flooded with emotions.
“Have some. It might not taste that good, though,” she said, smiling as she passed him the food.
Damien moaned immediately he took a bite.
“Fuck,” he moaned loudly.
“Did you order this from heaven? Only my mother knows how to make paella this good. Thank you,” he whispered.
Liam’s stomach growled as he watched Damien eat. He gulped down nothing, licking his lips.
“C-c-can I have some, please?” his eyes were literally begging Crystal. She laughed and gave him some too.
“Oh, fuck. This tastes so good,” he groaned as he took a spoonful.
“You know you’re really confusing yourself?” Damien said, making Liam roll his eyes.
“Not as confused as you,” he responded.
“Says the guy who thought penguins could fly.”
“I was eight!” he screamed angrily.
“Stupidity is stupidity, age has nothing to do with it. You have always been dumb, and you’re still dumb now,” Damien said, a smirk forming on his lips.
“I hate you.”
“Not as much as I do.”
Crystal just watched them in amazement. One minute they are friends, the next they are at each other’s necks.
As Damien was about to pour some more food for himself, his hands touched Liam, who also wanted more food. As their hands touched, they stared at each other with no emotion on their faces.
“Oh, I see some BL romance going on there,” Crystal giggled excitedly.
“Gross, no!” they both screamed, slapping each other’s hands away.
“Even if I were gay, he’s totally not my type. I’m too hot for an ugly guy like him,” Liam said, feeling himself.
While Damien just scoffed, picking up the spoon, he threw it across the room, using their hands to dish out the food instead.
Damien suddenly stopped.
“There’s paprika in this food?” he asked Crystal.
“Yeah, why? It’s part of the ingredients.”
“Oh no,” Liam gasped.
“Liam is allergic to them,” Damien whispered.
