“Emily?” Nicholas frowned, as his gaze washed over the figure right in front of him.
“Long time no see. Never thought I’d see you again.” Emily smiled.
“What are you doing here?” Nicholas asked, his voice suddenly cold.
“I should be asking you that, as for me? It’s obvious, isn’t it?”
“Whatever, I was leaving already.” Nicholas shrugged and turned to leave.
Emily frowned, dissatisfaction obviously written all over her face, “Is this how you talk to me, after all these years?
Nicholas paused. “All these years, you say? Oh come on Emily, there’s nothing too special about it.”
“You won’t even glance at my face and say it, and you want me to believe it?”
Nicholas chuckled, “it’s no use glancing at your face, it disgust me.” He spat, and with that, he left.
Emily’s face turned red with anger, her heart ached like it was going to shatter into pieces and she was going to die. She quickly wiped away the tears that clouded her eyes.
Even after several years, his attitude towards her was still the same, worst even.
Olivia was brought home by Chandler, who left just immediately. She paced up and down in the living room, as Morgan was yet to come back.
After a few hours, Morgan hadn’t returned yet, so Olivia decided to grab a shower. When she was done, she came back to the living room, yet there was no trace of Morgan. She took her phone, about to call him, when the entrance door was pushed open from the outside.
Olivia, a bit startled, turned towards the door, to see Morgan talk and an imposing figure walk into the room. His eyes were hazy, his hair disheveled, there was an unnatural redness etched on his face.
“Morgan?” She instinctively walked up to him, just when she was about to grab his arm, a heavy smell of alcohol hit her nose, causing her stomach to churn.
She suddenly felt nauseous and turned away from him for a while. Morgan seemed to notice her action, he frowned , his dark eyes fixed intensely at her.
“What?”
“I.. I.., yo.. you’re drunk.” She said, moving back, as he stepped closer.
Morgan’s frown deepened, ” Yeah, a bit and enough to keep me sober.” He stated.
Olivia nodded and turned to leave, she suddenly felt sick, probably because of the smell of alcohol, which she didn’t want to smell again.
Just before she could leave, Morgan grabbed her arm, pulling her back to him. “Weren’t you waiting for me, where are you going now?”
Olivia immediately covered her nose. “You reek of alcohol and it’s making me nauseous.” She mumbled, audible enough for Morgan to hear.
“What?!”
He saved her from being violated, and because he was angry he ended up getting drunk and this wicked thing was bold enough to say, he reeked of alcohol.
Morgan got angry as he clenched his jaw, his gaze traced the contours of her face, and then it stopped on her cheek, which was bright red, with finger marks in it. She was obviously slapped hard, it made Morgan’s anger boil, as his gaze softened, he suddenly regretted leaving the pig alive.
“Come here” he said, pulling her with him, till they were in the Master’s bedroom.
Morgan searched for his drawers, finally found what he was looking for, an injury ointment. “Here, apply to your face. Remain here, I’ll be back.” He handed the ointment to her and left for the washroom.
Olivia, after examining the small container, went ahead to rub it on her face, it felt cool and soothing to her face.
Few moments later, Morgan was out of the shower, he frowned upon not seeing Olivia on the couch where he left her, just then his gaze landed on the bed, to see her petite, laying reluctantly on the bed, with her hair draped over her face.
His gaze softened, as he joined her, pulling her waist close enough that her back were touching his chest. He sank his face into her neck, her floral and juicy scent soothing his mind, one which he loved.
*Morgan’s office*
“Sir, this is the details of the nurse.” Nicholas said, passing Morgan the file.
Morgan nodded and took it from him, “Assign four of those recruited servants to the mansion.”
“Okay sir.”
“Uhhm, Mrs Gilbert, wants to visit her mom today, I thought you had plans of visiting your dad.” Nicholas added.
“Remind her, once she’s done with her mom, bring her to father, I’d be there.”
Nicholas nodded, with that, he turned and left.
Olivia, had no classes, not wanting to be too bored staying home, she dressed up and grabbed her bag to visit her mom.
Just when she was about to step out, Nicholas informed her that she was going to visit old Gilbert. Happy yet nervous, she decided to prepare another food for the old man.
When she was done, she scooped the food into a thermo flask, so the hotness would be retained.
It wasn’t long, Nicholas dropped her off In front of the hospital, she carried the food she made for her mom and went into the hospital.
“Olly dear?” Lily smiled, her eyes shimmering with tenderness and love.
“Mom!” Olivia leaned in to hug her mom.
“I brought you food.” She added, dropping the flask on the desk.
“I’ll eat that later, the nurse already brought food for me.”
Olivia nodded and smiled tenderly.
“What’s your plan, after your deal has expired?” Lily suddenly asked, catching Olivia unaware.
Olivia seemed to think for a while, before she stated, “Uhhm, if I graduate before then, I’d start up my own Fashion house.” She smiled, as if thinking about it.
Lily smiled, her heart tugged as she remembered something, one she wasn’t supposed to remember. She sighed and shook her head.
“What about him, what’s he doing?”
Olivia swallowed, she was afraid to tell her mom that it was Morgan Gilbert, who in Manila doesn’t know him? except from her when she hasn’t been involved with him.
“Well uhhm, he is the heir to a company which is yet to be given to him, and he works there also.” She stated.
“Ohh okay.” “What is his name, his family’s name?”
Olivia scratched her hair, as if looking for a suitable answer.
“Logan Hilbert.” She answered, not looking at her mother, afraid that she would see through her lies.
Lily seemed to think for a while and nodded. “Well I haven’t heard of anyone with that name.”
That’s because it’s a lie
Olivia smiled, “Yeah, he isn’t popular or famous, just wealthy enough.”
Lily nodded, just then, the door was pushed open and a nurse walked in, carrying a tray of medicines.
Once she was close enough to the bed, the sharp smell invaded Olivia’s nose, her stomach felt uncomfortable as she hurried into the washroom. She squatted beside it, to retch.
Lily didn’t fail to notice this action, her heart skipped as she tried not to worry in front of the nurse. It wasn’t long before the nurse left, after she was done with giving Lily her meds.
When Olivia was out the nurse was gone already, she took a deep breath, as a heavy amount of fatigue suddenly washed over her. She walked to her mom, and sat beside her.
Lily’s gaze seized her, as if trying to find anything related to what she was thinking. “Are you okay?” She suddenly asked.
Olivia nodded, “Just a bit weak.”
Lily frowned, still not satisfied, she used her hands to check Olivia’s body, her body temperature was normal.
“Why did you vomit then?”
“I don’t know, the smell of the medicine was too heavy, it churned my stomach.”
Lily was short of words, Olivia had been present a couple of times when her medication was brought in, but why did she suddenly feel nauseous today?
Olivia already told her that she hasn’t done anything with the man. But now, Lily wasn’t sure of what to believe or think and she didn’t want to bother Olivia with questions that might scare her.
“Mom? Why’s your face like that? I’m fine, it’s just a small fatigue, a sleep and I’d be fine.” She smiled, grabbing her mom’s hands.
She smiled, pushing away those thoughts at the back of her head, she might be thinking too much.
“Mom, I’d get going, I also need to visit my fake father-in-law.” She joked, grabbing her bag.
“Alright dear, don’t forget to take medicines and to take care of yourself.”
“Okay Mom, I love you?” She leaned in to kiss her mom’s cheek.
“Bye.” She smiled, and walked out of the ward.
