Morgan was in the office when he got a call from Olivia.
“Speak.” He demanded, after some seconds of silence.
“Uhmm, I won’t be home tonight.” Olivia hesitated before saying.
Morgan frowned, “Why is that?”
“I’m sleeping with my mom, I’d be home in the morning.”
“You’re ditching me right now?”
“No.. no, I.. I, my mom wants me to sleep with her.” Olivia stuttered, suddenly a loss of words.
“Alright then. Nicholas will pick you up in the morning.”
“Goodnight.” Olivia suddenly added and ended the call.
Morgan pulled the phone away from his ears and glanced at the screen, with his brows arched together. A smirk left his lips.
Just when he was about to drop his phone, it started vibrating, flashing Olivia’s name on the screen.
“What?”
“In case you need something to eat, there’s food in the fridge, you can microwave it.”
“Hmmh.” He hummed and ended the call.
It was almost midnight when Morgan reached home, he walked into the living room, expecting to see Olivia, but then remembered that she was sleeping over at the hospital.
He sighed and walked into his bedroom, he showered and sank into the bed, all through the process craving to get a whiff of Olivia’s fragrance, but there was none.
He got up from the bed, and went out of the room, the next moment he was in Olivia’s room. His gaze scoured the room unsure of why he went there, just then his eyes fell on her purple pillows.
Morgan grabbed it, and brought it close to his nose, and sniffed it, exactly what he wanted, with that he left.
“Mom, I get going now. I’d try to to come this evening, once in back from school. Olivia said, tucking her clothes well as prepared to leave.
“School?” Her mom asked, narrowing her eyes at her.
“Yes mom, I’m schooling.” Olivia nodded and turned to look at her mom.
“Is he treating you well? I hope he isn’t making things difficult for you?” Lily asked, a hint of sad clouding her eyes.
“Mom, you don’t need to worry about me, I’m fine, I’m being treated well. You won’t believe his father chose my side over his own son’s side.” She smiled reassuringly at her mom.
Her mom returned the smile, obviously a sad smile. “Don’t hesitate to let me know, whenever things get difficult for you, okay baby?”
“Okay mummy. I love you too.” She leaned in and kissed her mom’s cheek.
Olivia glanced at the time, she still had few hours to grab a few things from house. Nicholas just pulled up with the car, when she came out of the hospital, climb into the car and he drove her home.
Olivia was quick to shower and change into something else, she picked her books and bag and was about to leave when her eyes fell on her bed. She frowned, her eyes darting around the bed, but couldn’t find what she was looking for.
She was already late for school, so she decided to look for it later, definitely when she’s back from school.
“Sir, I don’t know, but…you need to see this.” Nicholas hesitated before reporting to Morgan.
Morgan paused and lifted his eyes to look at him, “What’s that?”
Nicholas brought out the tablet that was behind him and gave it to Morgan. There was a short video that played after it was handed to Morgan.
Morgan’s brows deepened, he gave back the tablet to Nicholas and grabbed his phone that was on the desk.
“Get me information about the nurse who was on shift at that time.”
“Ok sir,” Nicholas nodded and was about to leave, but Morgan’s voice stopped him.
“Bring Olivia to the mall, I have a meeting with Chandler and she’s going with me.”
Nicholas nodded and left.
Evaris Lounge**
Olivia sat besides Morgan, his icy gaze fixed on his wine, as Chandler kept on cracking up jokes.
“Sister-in-law, I feel heartbroken.” Chandler suddenly said, throwing Olivia a hurt expression.
Olivia knitted her brows and went ahead to ask him what the problem was.
“Why is that?”
“I disguised myself as a girl to help another girl escape from where she was adopted, but she didn’t even look for me or care to find me and thank me. I feel so heartbroken.”
Vincent paused his lips into a deep thin line, in order to hold in the laughter that was about to escape his lips.
Olivia’s knitted brows deepened, as she looked away from Chandler’s face. Why is what he’s saying sounding familiar to her ears?
She knew she owed the girl that saved her an apology, but she didn’t even get to know her name or any information about her.
Olivia decided to reply to him from her own thoughts, she obviously forgot about Xenia and if she was with her details, she would have gotten to her.
“I’m sorry, but she might have forgotten about you. If you have any of her details you reach out to her.” She stated, glancing at Chandler.
Chandler hesitated for a while before he took out his phone, “I think I have her number with me.”
Morgan frowned and shot him a glare, he grinned and looked away.
Just as Olivia was waiting for the call to go through, so she’d be able to hear what he was going to say to the girl, her own phone started to vibrate. She glanced at the screen to see it was an unknown number, she looked up at Morgan, but his face wasn’t giving out anything. She sighed and grabbed the phone.
“I’ll take this.” She said, referring at Morgan who hummed in response.
She got up, about to move out, but Morgan pulled her back, making her fall back into the couch. She hissed and glared at Morgan.
“Go ahead and take the call right here.”
Olivia nodded and took the call. She widened her eyes in surprise as she heard Chandler’s voice through the phone, she quickly turned to look at him and burst into laughter.
“You get it now, do you?” He laughed.
Olivia didn’t find it funny as she was still confused, as to why it was her that Chandler called.
“Chandler, don’t make the beauty more confused than she is, spill it already.” Vincent chipped in.
“Okay okay, long story short, I won’t be the one to do the saying, I suggest that Morgan will do that. I’m a shy person.” Chandler whined and Vincent f
burst into another fit of laughter.
“Morgan you will do the talking right? I can’t bring myself to say it.”
“You didn’t think about this, when you opened your mouth to spout rubbish. I will say no such thing.” Morgan’s voice was firm and resolute.
Olivia’s gaze scoured their gazes, she tried to understand and pick out what they were saying but it seemed like a mission impossible, when she could no longer hold in her curiosity she turned and glanced at Morgan.
“What exactly is going on?” She asked, her firm gaze, fixed on him.
“You seem not to remember the girl who helped you to escape from Xavier.” Morgan said, a smirk etched on his lips.
“I do remember her, but I can’t get to her, I don’t even know her name.”
“It’s of no use right now, because he’s right in front you.”
“He?”
“Yes, He.”
Olivia frowned, “Is she a he?”
“Hmm,” Morgan hummed. “Chandler disguised as a woman to distract the patrols right then.” He added, and swirled the glass on his hand.
Olivia quickly shot Chandler a glance, a wave of shock washed through her, as she tried to imagine both of their faces.
“How’s that even possible?” She asked, which got Chandler and Vincent to burst into laughter.
After a series of explanations, Olivia finally believed. She was almost jealous that Morgan had such a strong and beautiful female friend by his side.
They were discussing another topic about work, when Olivia decided to use the restroom.
She walked along the dimly lit, long and large hall, her eyes wandering around the place. There were almost a hundred people, hanging around the hallway, especially people who seemed so absorbed in their making out, like no one was existing apart from.
Olivia sighed and walked past them, she finally came to a door, which she supposed was the door to the restroom.
Shortly after she entered she came out, adjusting her clothes, and was about to leave, when her arm was grabbed by someone.
“Such a beauty, come sleep with me tonight.”
“What the hell?!”
