“To visit you of course.” Hilda smiled, grabbing a chair, to sit close to her.
“Why do you look like you’re going to have a heart attack, I just came to visit and please don’t have it. I can’t bear to be accused of being the cause, when I only came to visit you.”
“Get out of here, else I’d scream and call the doctor.” Lily threatened, her eyes glaring at her warily.
Hilda chuckled slightly, as if she was hearing the biggest joke of her life. She leaned closer, a sneer on her face. “Try it and see how everyone will know the truth about your Olivia.” she challenged, her voice low.
Lily paused, her whole body seething with anger and hatred for the woman right in front of her. All she knows how to do is to keep blackmailing her with her past.
“Mom?” Ava shot her mother a glance, seeming to not understand why she was talking about Olivia.
“Ava dear, don’t you think you should wait for me outside the ward and watch when someone is coming. I’d be quick.” Hilda smiled, rubbing her temples.
“Mom?” Ava called, yet again, giving her the mother the look of ‘you’re really asking me to stand outside?’
“Ohh deer, you know we shouldn’t be here, especially when the doctor comes. Who knows, he might call to confirm from Olivia’s sugar daddy.”
“Please baby, do it for me.” Hilda said, giving Ava an apologetic look.
With a scrunched and frowned face, Ava got up and left for the door.
“What do you mean by Olivia’s sugar daddy?” Lily quickly asked, as soon Ava was out of the room.
“Ohh she didn’t tell you? Poor child, she might think you’d freak out if you learn about the truth.” Hilda sighed, her voice laced with mockery.
“What truth are you talking about?” Lily asked, helping herself up as she glared impatiently at Hilda.
“Tsk, what do you expect? An apple doesn’t fall far from its tree. How could you be in such a luxurious hospital ward, and you didn’t ask your daughter how she was able to afford it?”
It was then that the word, ‘Mom, I’m married’ hit Lily’s head. Her heart tightened immediately, it can’t be true right?
“What are you trying to say then?” She said, her gaze fixed in Hilda.
“Oh Lily, don’t tell me you got dumb after the operation and days of being in a vegetative state. Your precious daughter, Olivia, is going about sleeping with old and rich men, just so she could take care of you. Isn’t she a good daughter?” Hilda mocked, sniffling out a laugh.
The blood in Lily’s body drained, as her face suddenly became pale she narrowed her eyes at Hilda, as if trying to find the truths in her words. Lily knew Olivia, and her daughter wasn’t the type to associate with people talking more of sleeping around, no way, that isn’t the Olivia she trained.
“I suggest you leave here right now, then stay here and spout rubbish about my daughter!”
Hilda narrowed her eyes at her, “Spouting rubbish? You don’t get it, do you?”
“Who knows, the past might be repeating itself. Your daughter would keep sleeping around with men, until she gets pregnant and won’t know who the father is, just like what happened to her mom. Isn’t that quite a history? Like a mother , like a daughter.” Hilda added, cracking up into a fit of laughter.
Lily’s eyes stung with pain, as she forced back the tears threatening to fall from her eyes. “Hilda! I won’t have you speak ill of my daughter right in front of me. Mind you, I wasn’t sleeping around with men when I got pregnant with her!”
“Ohh come on, tell that to a toddler.” Hilda cut her off.
“Anyways this isn’t why I came here, she’s your daughter. I came to let you know that Larry and I had finally gotten together, and I’m heavily pregnant with his baby boy.”
Lily looked away, not responding to her.
“You don’t have to be jealous dear, a Congratulations won’t do you bad. We used to be best friends, remember?”
Lily remained silent, not even glancing at her.
“Ouch, I’d take that as a clue to get going. One more thing, on no account, would you tell anyone I came here, you can tell the nurses that I am your sister. If I’m denied access here, trust me, all your dirty secrets would become the headlines.”
Hilda threatened, a sneer on her face, as she picked up her back and turned to leave, after throwing one more glance and a fake smile at Lily.
Lily’s fists clenched and unclenched, her breath becoming heavy as bitter tears left her eyes. The memory of when she met Larry was still fresh in her head. He had the most loving and sweet smile, which always made her feel calm. He stared at her with affection, while she stared at him with guilt. Guilt that made her not to bear him a child, that made her sacrifice everything for him.
Replaying her early life, she felt like killing herself. Olivia was the only one she owes the biggest apology, because she had hidden the most important part of her life from her, letting her believe that Larry was her real father. But even at this point, Lily was still going to hide the truth from her, she was ready to hide it till she died.
Hilda was her best friend in college, they loved each other, not until Larry came into the picture. His presence was the cause of their quarrel and hatred against each other.
Soaked in tears of self pity and bitterness, Lily let her tears pour, not being able to hold it anymore. Karma is sure a bitch.

“Dad I swear, it wasn’t my intention, please don’t let me out this once and I promise I won’t dare to do it again.” Xavier pleaded, looking at his father through the cell.
“You should say that to Morgan, didn’t you think about the consequences, before the act?” Gilbert barked, his eyes glimmering with anger.
He would never believe that Xavier could plot a kidnap on his daughter in-law, and even let her stay for five days, just to lure Morgan out.
“Morgan won’t listen to my apologies. Dad, please help me out!
“That’s not why I’m here, in here to let you know that I’m giving the company over to Morgan, you disappointed me. For now, your position is taken away from you, not until you’re out of here. You can’t have a position in Klein and be in a cell, no that’s tarnishing the company’s image.” Gilbert stated.
Xavier froze, after the words left his father’s mouth. No way is Morgan going to take over that company, his heart, filled with venom and pure hatred, glanced at his father and looked away.
He knew that his mind just had been made before he came to visit him, he had already decided on it and nothing from what he was going to say would change his mind.
For this reason, he didn’t beg anymore and just nodded his head. Deep down, he was plotting another evil to stop the handing over.
“Will I be out before the ceremony?” He asked.
“It’s up to Morgan. If you really feel remorse, make him see that, and might let you out.”
Remorse my foot!
He cursed inwardly, but nodded at his father. Shortly after old Gilbert was wheeled out of the meeting area, Xavier asked one the securities for a phone, finally he got one. He dialed his mother’s number, luckily he had her number stored in his head.
After the call went through, he brought his voice down, and whispered something to the phone.
