Just as they all had their admiring eyes on Morgan, while praising him. Nicholas hurriedly opened the door, revealing a slender and pretty face which belonged to no one else but Olivia.
She was dressed beautifully in a purple off shoulder, fishtail gown, which hugged her hourglass figure and flayed downwards.
Her face was contoured in a light and natural make up, which accentuated her already beautiful face. Her curly long hair, trailed down her waistline.
She was beautiful and elegant, making her exude a charm of innocence and youthfulness. A beauty which was untainted and pure.
Now, all the guests were in shock as they widened their eyes in astonishment. The press didn’t dare to take pictures, as they were all warned prior to the event not to take any picture of the young master.
Morgan walked up to Olivia, as he revealed a dashing smile. Olivia returned the smile, clinging her hand into his welcoming arm.
Looking like the sweetest and most loving couples, they walked into the Hall, leaving every other person in their pool of shock.
“My heart is heartbroken…. young master had another girl and she’s more beautiful than I am”
“That’s not going to stop me from chasing him. After All, they aren’t married yet, we haven’t heard of it.”
“Exactly, she’s just trying to climb up the ranks. I’m sure, when she’s of no use anymore, she’d be discarded.”
“Young master should just throw her away and come to me!”
“You’re all delusional. Go and look pretty like here, don’t spout rubbish here!”
Inside a classic, yet luxurious room, Olivia settled on a couch, as her eyes quickly darted around the whole room. The room was dark, as the only light that lit it up was from the large led screen, hung in the center of the room.
Olivia could see everything that was happening in the hall, through the television screen.
“Don’t go out of here. I’d be right back.” Morgan said, giving her one more glance before he walked away.
Olivia wasn’t sure, but her eyes were glued to the screen as she saw all guests come in, and settled on the settled down. She didn’t fail to notice Nessa, who was dressed beautifully in an expensive red fur coat. Besides her friends, who looked happy and excited, their dressing wasn’t bad.
It wasn’t long before the event began, the emcee started by introducing the hosts of the event and why it was hosted.
It wasn’t only fashion wear that was on display, there were jewelry and a few other items. But the focus was on fashion wear and jewelry.
The hall fell silent, when they heard the cry of the auctioneer. The first item was a bracelet, which was adorned with tiny diamond stones, with a swan design.
The auctioneer went ahead to describe everything used in making the bracelet, including what the creator had in mind while making it.
After several bidding, the Bracelet was sold out for five hundred thousand pesos. The bidding kept going on, with everyone of them, showcasing the extent of their wealth.
Olivia had her eyes glued to the show, that she didn’t notice when Morgan came in. She was so invested in the items being displayed.
None of the items had caught her attention, not until a gown was displayed. A purple strapless corset gown, with pure and tiny diamond embedded all over it. It shimmered and sparked under the bright light, making one unable to look away from it.
The auctioneer went on to describe every element and purpose of the design. It was a work created by a teenage girl, named Lila, who is now a famous designer in the city.
She designed the cloth for her sister, who had been bedridden for months. The use of diamonds was her way of expressing her undivided and rich love for her sister.
She wanted her sister to wear the gown, once she was discharged from the hospital. But her dream was trashed and shattered, when she received news that her sister was dead.
Lila vowed not to sell the cloth, as it was her first design and it reminded her of her sister. But tonight it was on display, as she had decided to sell it off, and to give hope to whoever has a sick relative.
“Who’s this supposed to give hope? Her sister didn’t even get to wear it. Tch”
What? No way, is anyone going to buy that dress…doesn’t it sound like bad luck?”
“Hope my foot! Please move on to the next item”
Murmurs and whispers filled the hall, as they were all bad mouthing the dress.
Olivia didn’t notice the tears that were trickling down her face, not until Morgan pulled her into him.
Only then did she realize that Morgan was in the room and she was crying. But why was she crying?
She melted into his embrace, closing her eyes, to let the remaining tears fall.
“Why are you being a cry baby all of a sudden?” He mumbled, his voice low and deep.
Olivia shook her head, she was also confused as to why she was crying. All she could was Lila’s story was heartbreaking, and it reminded her of her mother.
But this wasn’t something she was going to tell Morgan, so instead, she shook her head, wiping her tears as she pulled away from Morgan’s embrace.
“I’m not a cry baby. But can’t they be more polite, than to bad mouth her work?” Her voice, sounding a bit angry at the audience.
Morgan fell silent and glanced at the screen
Just as everyone was murmuring and whispering amongst themselves, the auctioneer cried.
“1 million pesos!”
“What? Who is wasting such money on this trash?
“1. 5 million pesos!”
Olivia was happy again, at least someone was bidding for the cloth and the price was pretty high.
“2 million pesos!”
Another loud roar erupted from the crowd.
“Oh my goodness!!”
“2. 5 million pesos!”
It was like a competition between the two unknown individuals who were bidding for that particular cloth.
“3 Million pesos!”
