“There’s no need.”
Yayoi scrunched the tissues into a ball and threw it into the bin. Then, she took a few more pieces and wrapped them around her injured finger.
“See? I already wrapped it.” She waved her hand.
Rosiley was speechless.
Seeing the blood soaking through the tissues, Rosiley’s face darkened. She became serious and said, “Yayoi, listen to me. Be obedient and go ask the nurse to dress your wound.”
Her serious tone expressed an unswerving persistence.
“I…”
Just when Yayoi was about to say something, there was a knock at the door, followed by a familiar voice.
“sister-in-law, I came to see you. Can I go in?”
It was Morphy’s voice.
“Yes.” Rosiley raised her voice and replied. While doing so, she glanced at Yayoi and saw her looking down. Her gaze was faint and she could not tell what her emotions were at that moment.
Rosiley narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.
Morphy pushed the door open and walked in. When his gaze caught sight of the slender back view, his expression froze for a moment. However, he snapped back to his senses quickly. He put on a big smile and asked Rosiley, “sister-in-law, my brother has yet to come and accompany you?”
“He just left.” Rosiley smiled gently. “He accompanied me for the whole afternoon already. He has dinner plans tonight, so he might only come later.”
Morphy nodded and walked over to sit next to her bed. His calm gaze turned to look at Yayoi, who was on the other side of the bed and had her head lowered. He said with a smile, “Deputy Manager Seneca, why didn’t you tell me that you were coming? I could have given you a ride.”
When she heard him address her in such a polite and distant manner, Yayoi frowned, and her heart was filled with mixed emotions.
“No need to bother, Mr. Shen,” she replied coldly.
Morphy’s brows were raised, and his lips curled up in self-mockery.
Rosiley looked at him and then at Yayoi. Her intuition told her that the atmosphere between the two of them was weird, as if they were having a fight.
Noticing her probing eyes, Yayoi panicked. She was afraid that Rosiley would find out something. Hence, she stood up immediately and threw them a sentence, saying, “I’ll go down to the nurses’ station.” Then, she left in a hurry.
A complicated expression filled Morphy’s eyes as he watched her leave hastily.
Was she avoiding him? From the moment he had entered the door to now, she had not even glanced at him. The feeling of neglect really made him uncomfortable.
Wasn’t it just because he had a fiancée? If she was bothered about that, he could actually ask his Big Brother to help him talk to Grandfather and perhaps the engagement could be called off.
Thinking of this, he was shocked and realized that there was a very serious problem…
He… he actually wanted to cancel the engagement for her.
This ridiculous thought scared him so much that he quickly shook his head. Then, he looked away, only to bump into a pair of sparkling bright eyes that were filled with a sly smile.
“Tell me, what happened between you and An Yi?” Rosiley asked.
Damn it! How had his sister-in-law found out that there was a problem between him and Yayoi?
He felt a little shocked but still answered calmly. “Me and her? Nothing.”
“Really?” Rosiley narrowed her eyes suspiciously. “Yayoi accidentally cut her finger when she was peeling the apple…”
“Is it serious?”
Before she could finish her words, he interrupted her anxiously.
Looking at his anxious and worried expression, a meaningful smile formed on Rosiley’s face. Meanwhile, the corners of Morphy’s lips were pulled in embarrassment.
Fine, he could not escape his sister-in-law’s sharp eyes.
“I like her.” Morphy did not hide his feelings anymore.
“I can tell.” Rosiley raised her brows. “But I’m very curious. You two seem to have minimal interaction, how did you fall for her? Was it love at first sight?”
