Chapter 9

Book:The CEO'S Delicate Wife Published:2024-8-24

Olivia was stunned to see the price tags of every dress they went by. No wonder, it was only celebrities and ladies from rich families who wore dresses like this.
The price alone, can take care of her mom’s hospital bills, and she could begin schooling again.
“I’d let you walk around and select the ones you like, my attention is needed in the other department.” The sales lady said, smiling politely.
Olivia smiled back and nodded.
She was still checking out the dresses, when her eyes caught sight of the jewelry sparkling under the bright chandeliers. She smiled, grazing her fingers on them.
“She’s so young, what do you think? She might be one of these vixens sleeping with rich men to climb the rank. How can a girl have such money to buy jewelries.”
“Kids of this generation, look how exposed her thighs are. She must be a homewrecker, look at her face, she looks like a fox, that’s why men would like her.”
Olivia could hear distant female voices. Of course, they were talking about her, their voices laced with hatred and anger. She couldn’t care less as she continued walking around.
Speaking of causing trouble, Olivia stopped in front of a silver bracelet, adorned with purple diamonds in a heart shaped style. She was about to take it, when another fair and slender hand beat her, quickly grabbing it.
Olivia suddenly got furious and turned to look at the person behind those hands. Shock and surprise was etched on her face, as her large eyes were left ajar.
“You?!” the chorus together.
“Give that back, I saw it first and was about to take it.” Olivia said, palming out her hands.
“But you didn’t take it. I got it before you, so go look for another one. Besides, who gave you the access here, last time I checked you were penniless.” Ava mocked.
“You really seem to have the habit of taking things that don’t belong to you. Give that back, right now!”
Ava grinned, folding her arms together, “What will you do about it?”
Before Ava could say another word, Olivia landed a slap on her cheek, fiercely dragging her hair to the ground
Ava screamed, alerting the attention of the people close by. “You bitch, let me go!”
“Give it back, else I won’t let you go”
Olivia couldn’t let someone bully her or take something she owned and go scot-free. She really didn’t get the chance to beat Ava, that day they insulted her, and now she wouldn’t dare to let her go free again.
Ava was on the floor, while Olivia was above her, pulling her hair and slapping her face, until her face was red and purple. She was suddenly pulled away from Ava by the sales people.
Olivia wasn’t even given the chance to explain what happened, and she was accused of starting the fight. She got angrier and stared at the two persons who accused her, of course it was the same people who were gossiping with her name, calling her a vixen.
“What are you staring at me for? Did you not start the trouble? Because you’re a vixen doesn’t mean you can get everything you want.” The woman sneered, venom and hatred filled in her voice and eyes.
After what the sales woman said, every one became against Olivia, quickly siding with Ava, whose tears were rolling like a stream. She looked pitiful and messy.
Olivia heard whispering curses directed at her. She felt offended and wronged, and her eyes stung, but she couldn’t be weak, not in front of these wicked people.
“I don’t care what you all say right now. All I want is that jewelry. Ava would give me back that jewelry, else I’d beat her up again and everyone who comes close.” She threatened, head held high.
“What nonsense is she talking about, apologize to her immediately. What kind of human would beat her fellow human like this?” A woman added, gaining more sympathy from people to Ava, who kept on pretending to be innocent, while sniffing and shedding tears.
Olivia couldn’t care less about Ava’s state, all she wanted was the bracelet.
“Apologize? Why would I apologize and to whom should I apologize?” Olivia sneered, giving Ava a mocking gaze.
Everyone exchanged glances between themselves, their hatred for Olivia escalating.
“Just get this lady out of here already, she is causing a nuisance!” An angry voice thundered.
“And why would she be taken away?” A deep and cold voice challenged walking into the scene.
Everyone was stunned by the voice, swirling their heads to the direction it came from.
Who in Manila doesn’t know of the heir to Klein’s enterprise?
They gasped in shock, seeing it was Morgan Gilbert.
Olivia could already tell who owns the voice, but she didn’t dare to look at him, afraid he might join the queue and accuse her.
“Young master, this woman has been causing trouble for everyone here. Look at how she got a fellow girl beaten up over a bracelet.” A sales woman was fast to report Olivia to him.
Morgan’s gaze fell on Olivia’s figure, but the petite woman was reluctant to look at him or even acknowledge his presence.
Such guts!
Morgan smirked and looked away.
“Let me see the Bracelet” He ordered.
Ava was happy with how the matter was going, thanks to Olivia she was going to speak to the handsome heir of Klein’s enterprise.
She didn’t hesitate to fake another tears and ran towards Morgan, looking pitiful and sympathetic.
“Young master, I saw this bracelet and liked it, how would I know this lady also liked it? I took it to check it out, but I didn’t even get to try it on, when this lady attacked me, and started slapping me, calling me a thief.” Ava sobbed, wiping away her tears.
“Such a liar!” Olivia cursed, hitting Ava on the cheek.
“Ahh! She slapped me again, young master, can you see?”
“I’ll slap you again, if you lie against me. I don’t need to pick a day.” Olivia was furious.
“Do you really like this bracelet that much?” Morgan asked, taking the bracelet from Ava’s hand.
“Yes, young master” Ava nodded, thinking the question was directed to her.
“Olivia…”
Olivia stilled, hearing Morgan can her name for the first time, Sweet, she must say? She finally turned to face him, hiding the panic under her cover.
“Do you really like this bracelet so much that you have to fight for it?” He asked again, scanning her face that was red from anger.
“Of course I like it, I saw it first, but she’s always good at taking what doesn’t belong to her.”
Morgan went forward and handed the bracelet to her, totally ignoring Ava’s existence.
Everyone was stunned, their plan didn’t go as they wanted, instead Olivia was getting the support of the young master.
“She might have charmed him with her fox-like face. This girl is no good news!.” Rounds of whispers ensued at the turns of the event.
Olivia’s eyes darted around the place, looking everyone in the eyes, finally stopping at the two gossips who called her a vixen. She smiled slyly, whispering something Into Morgan’s ear.
The two women quickly averted her gaze, looking down. Just when they thought she’s left with Morgan, Morgan halted and looked at them.
“You both are fired.” He said calmly and left with Olivia, leaving the rest in utter shock and confusion.
Ava was no different as she stared at Olivia with jealousy and Hatred.
