Strange Happenings

Book:Mated To The Big Bad Alpha Published:2024-8-24

Olive heard the noise and she worriedly stepped out of the bed. What was happening there?
“Wayne?” she called weakly. She couldn’t breathe properly.
“Wayne,” she called again and took slow steps forward. She kept walking slowly until she reached the door. She opened it and came face to face with Wayne.
“Hey,” she hailed and he smirked.
“Missed me already?” he asked with mischief laden in his voice. She rolled her eyes and looked out of the hallway.
“I thought I heard a noise,” she stated.
“I mistakenly broke a vase. That’s all,” he shrugged and held her waist.
“It’s cold out here in the hallway. Let’s go back inside,” he said and helped her walk back into the room.
“I’m worried, Wayne,” Olive mumbled and hugged his arm as he walked with her to the bed.
“You don’t have to be. Everything’s under control,” he whispered and patted her hair gently with his palm. His thumb rubbed soothingly on her forehead and he bent down to kiss her there.
“You are making me feel like there is no danger in the world,” Olive chuckled as he swooped her of the floor gently and carried her in his arms instead.
“Because there isn’t. There can not be any danger where Olive Roger is concerned,” he said proudly. Olive shook her head at her mate.
Wayne laid her on the bed and crawled over her.
“How is your heart?”
“Beating but weak. I’m having a hard time breathing,” she answered.
“You are one tough woman,” he lowered himself and supported his body with his elbows propping up against the bed. He was careful not to allow his body rest on hers, so he wouldn’t compress her. She wrapped her arms around his torso and closed her eyes.
“Do you feel hungry?”
“No. I don’t have an appetite.”
“Well, I’m hungry, Olive. So should I eat alone?”
Olive opened her eyes and laughed.
“Fine. I’ll eat,” she said while still laughing lightly.
“But did you ask me what type of food I want?” Wayne questioned again.
“What do you mean?”
“I was going to eat you out,” he drawled. His tongue grazed over her cheek and she shuddered.
“I doubt I would be delicious. But since you want to try, let’s go on with it. And oh… I already said I’d eat too,” she rubbed her palms around his waist and moved it down to his butt. Then she felt his butt muscles and spanked him hard. Both of them burst out laughing at that action. Even Olive who lacked strength laughed so hard she felt her chest aching.
“What was that for?” Wayne asked after managing to curb his laughter. He was used to being the one doing the spanking and not the other way round. Heck! Being spanked was the weirdest thing that had ever happened to him. But, it kind of felt nice coming from her weak, slender hand.
“Spanking my meal,” she answered and laughed again. Then her chest choked her and she stopped. She began to feel tingles there but thought it was just a sensation as a result of the laughter.
“I would have a small meal planned for us. It’s already dinnertime anyway,” Wayne spoke before getting off of her. Olive sighed and rubbed her chest, directly on the bandaged spot. She saw fresh blood leaking out and sighed. She needed new bandages.
“Baby, I think I need a change. My shirt is all ruined,” she pouted as blood soaked her peach colored t-shirt. Wayne looked back and saw the blood. He gritted his teeth and hurried to the drawer by the bed. He pulled out his first aid box and got the bandages methylated spirit, cotton wool and forceps. He helped removed her shirt and stared at her twin peaks involuntarily.
Olive rolled her eyes.
“Wayneeee,” she drawled. He blinked and pinned his lips together then set to work on removing the bandage. But as his hand touched the skin around that wound, she yelped in pain and he jerked his hand away.
“What is it?”
“A shock. A huge shock of electricity,” she answered and pinned her palm on her chest to calm herself down. Wayne’s brows thickened. It was the same thing that happened to him. But why?
“Why would that happen, Wayne?” she asked nervously.
“This was what happened to me earlier before I ran out of the room. I don’t know what it is but, Mufasa said for us to meet him when you’ve eaten well,” Wayne explained. He completely left out the part were he was moving objects without touching them.
“Is that why you wanted me to eat? And who’s Mufasa?”
“Yeah. Mufasa’s the healer. He lives here at the castle with us but doesn’t come out ever. I honestly don’t know what that wolf is always doing down there.”
Olive wanted to ask down where but she didn’t. Wayne resumed pulling off the bandage while careful not to touch her skin, because it obviously happened after a body contact. But to his greatest horror, surprise and shock… The wound was covering up completely. Olive’s jaws dropped when she saw her body closing up and healing itself. In a minute, it had closed up completely and the spot was as good as new.
“Holy God,” Wayne muttered, the new bandages still hanging in his hand.
“What just… what just happened?” Olive stammered.
“You just healed a huge stab wound like it was a nail scratch,” Wayne answered.
“Was it the electric shock?”
“Should be. Wait here, I’ll go get a new shirt,” he took the bloodied things to the bathroom and dumped them in the trashcan there. He returned to Olive after picking a shirt for her. Precisely his shirt.
“Why your shirt?” she asked as she inhaled his scent from it.
“So you can rub those peaks against it. And I would wear it later and feel them too,” he answered with a smug smile.
“You’re so melodramatic!” she nagged.
She had cleaned off the fresh blood whose passage earlier had now been successfully blocked. If someone walked in, they would think she had hurt someone to get that blood on her.
She wore the shirt and stepped down from the bed. It was at that point that the door opened and maids walked in with food. The air immediately smelt of freshly baked bread. She hurriedly walked to the dining and Wayne followed her.
“So much for someone who didn’t want to eat at first,” Wayne mocked her as he drew her a chair.
“The bread is calling me,” she whined as she sat down.
In thirty minutes the dinner was over, and Wayne and Olive had dressed up to go to Mufasa’s dungeon. Yes, Mufasa lived down in a dungeon. No one entered except if he or she was in need, or if he was sent or called upon by Mufasa himself.
Only the Alpha family had the luxury of going there whenever. But who would want to go down there for casual reasons or to just chill underneath the ground?
So yes, Mufasa’s dungeon was always strictly for business.
Wayne had made Olive wear a thick sweater of his and let her hair down. She was wearing blue jeans and black boots too. He was dressed as he used to. Black jacket and pants with big boots like he was going hiking in a rocky area.
They took the elevator downstairs and walked outside through the back of the castle. There were a few buildings behind away from the garden and one of them lead to Mufasa’s dungeon. They entered the house which seemed like a small clinic. The red haired lady from earlier was standing behind a counter and punching a computer. She sensed them and looked up.
“Alpha,” she bowed her head immediately.
“We are here to see Mufasa,” Wayne announced.
“Yes, Alpha. He has been waiting for you,” she replied and stepped out. Her hair was shoulder length and straight.
“This way,” she pointed towards a double door with her hands and tilted slightly downwards respectfully. Because of that, her hair shifted towards her face and her ear was exposed. Olive gasped lightly. She had pointed ears.
The lady led them through the door and into a small warm room with a table like a conference table. She opened another door and there were large, wide steps that led down to the dungeon. They followed her in and came out in an ancient hall. It had stone walls, a cobbled floor with tiny stones and wood touches hanging in metal clasps on the walls. The fire was brightly lighting up the space. There was a fireplace at the far end of the hall and chairs were around it. There were a few tables at different points and on them were different things.
On one whole side of the wall was a shelf of books. Old and ancient looking books. And on the other side was a shelf with different bottles and containers, containing diverse substances.
“Welcome. Welcome to my humble abode,” Mufasa’s excited voice stated. He came out from a dark hallway beside the fireplace. Olive raised a brow when she saw the man looking like an ancient magician. With his hair, beard, clothing and aura.
“Isn’t she beautiful?”
Olive bowed her head.
“A pleasure to meet you, sir,” she said kindly.
“Come here. Sit down. Ami get me the crystal balls,” he said to the red haired girl.
Wayne and Olive walked to the fireplace and sat down on the arm chairs there. Mufasa himself sat on a cushion in front of a low table. Ami brought his crystal ball and he exhaled.
“I have an explanation for what is happening to both you and your Luna. I once told you Wayne, that new things, new great things would happen to you once you find your mate,” Mufasa stated. Olive looked at Wayne and he shrugged, looking bored.
“But I couldn’t see it all. However, I see a bit clearer now. First, Olive would have to go somewhere before I explain anything,” Mufasa said and looked into his ball, peering into it to see something.
“Go where? She’s not going anywhere, Mufasa,” Wayne declared firmly.
“Ah, love. Don’t worry, she won’t be seen there. It has to be her because only she has a pure soul. You my Knight, has a dark one.”
Wayne almost rolled his eyes.
“Pure soul?”
“Don’t worry. I will explain after you return. Just look into the ball and let yourself out,” Mufasa said. She exhaled and looked at Wayne.
“Don’t worry. I’ve done this stuff of his years back and it’s safe. I trust him,” Wayne approved. She nodded and looked into the ball.
In a minute, she felt herself being pushed to rest her back on the seat and her eyes gently closed. Wayne knew she had gone to see the life of a person in a different place. She would be seeing a vision in her head while physically unconscious. But why and what did the vision have to do with the strange things happening to them?
