The Cabinets In The Circular Cabinets

Book:Mated To The Big Bad Alpha Published:2024-8-24

On that day, Wayne had gone to Italy for a visit to an Alpha friend of his. He had a pack hidden in Rome, unknown to humans. All members of his pack were rich, and had lots of jewelries which had been passed on from generation to generation. These jewels were priceless possessions and some even had myths attached to them.
Alpha Maximo was a calm yet deadly man, just like all of Wayne’s friends were. But he was quite different from them in a way. Dante Maximo was kindhearted. No one knew he even possessed a dark side because of how good he appeared, both to humans and his pack. Dante had not found his mate yet, but he was already saving tons of jewelry for her. He said he couldn’t wait to meet her.
Out of his jewelry collection, he gave that gold necklace to Wayne. Saying he should keep it for his own mate.
“Have this, Wayne. I pray your mate likes it,” he teased as he handed it to his friend.
“Why? I don’t care about a mate. In fact, I hope I never find her,” Wayne rebuffed him and shoved the necklace box back into his hands. Wayne was twenty two years at the time but was already Alpha for two years.
“Haha,” his friend had laughed.
“Only a man who has found his mate, would understand why a mate was created.” Dante laughed again and gave him the box.
“This very necklace is said to bring fulfilment. It will make your mate fill fulfilled with you if she truly is your mate. Keep this for her and stop being such a pain,” he scolded Wayne. So Wayne returned to Balendin Pack with that gold necklace and had kept it in the Circular Cabinet for seven years. He only took it to his room a year back. And had worn it ever since because he liked it. And now, he was giving it to the original owner of it.
“Dante would be really glad I found my mate. But he’ll be jealous I found mine before he did,” Wayne said to Olive and chuckled deeply. She cracked a smile and rubbed her thumb on the necklace. It was really smooth.
“I like it,” she muttered and exhaled.
“I’ll like to wear it first. May I?”
“It’s yours, baby,” he said and she turned around and gave it to him. He wore it for her and arranged her hair.
Truly, Olive got a great feeling of fulfilment. Like she had arrived at the most beautiful part of her life. She looked at Wayne and hugged him, feeling fulfilled.
After two minutes of embracing each other, Olive unlocked and turned around for him to remove the necklace. He did then gave it back to her. She hung it gently on one of the small metallic hangers in the cabinet then closed it.
“There. It’s safe,” she grinned. He smiled and hugged her sideways.
“Now, about what we were doing earlier,” he started and she frowned.
“Let us continue,” he added despite the knowing frown on her face.
“Didn’t Terry call you earlier? What was it for?” she asked, diverting the topic to something else. Wayne’s brows furrowed. He knew Terry had said something very important. But what was it he said? He wanted to forget about it but decided not to do something so stupid because he wanted to continue kissing his mate.
“I would have to call him,” he replied and walked to the table to pick his phone that he had dropped there immediately after the call. Olive chuckled at him and went back to finish her drink. She tasted the mixture Wayne had made but didn’t like the taste. She frowned and made a ‘sour’ taste face as she took it and dropped the glass immediately. Wayne finished with his call and looked at her.
“It’s one of our business associates. President Kim. He’s here to talk about the Cherry Blossom Gala,” he hastily told Olive.
“Oh. Is he from South Korea?”
“Korean American. I have to go and see him now.”
Olive nodded with a smile. He walked towards the door in a hurry but stopped. He raked his fingers through his hair and looked back at her.
“Did you forget something?” she asked. He sped to her and landed a wet kiss on her lips.
“Be good. And don’t go to Valor House,” he warned then sped to his elevator which he had almost forgotten to use. He entered and it closed. Olive chuckled softly as she remembered his warning not to go to Valor House with Vanessa.
She spent five minutes looking at the exotic bar behind her. It was really large and curved, containing so many bottled drinks. She could even see foreign drinks there. The door opened and she looked at who might have entered. She groaned in frustration.
“Gia,” she called, her eyes turning grey. Gia stopped walking immediately she saw the color of her eyes. Fear skittered across her mind and her defensive instincts kicked in.
“You healed pretty fast, Gia,” Olive said. Her eyes returned to normal.
Gia exhaled and smirked at her.
“What do you think I am? Some random wolf like you?” she asked sarcastically and walked towards her.
“You are the Chief Female Army Commander of Balendin Pack. Yet you couldn’t block a single blow when a random wolf like me was fighting you,” Olive mocked with a smile. Gia’s face darkened.
“That wasn’t a fight. That was an attack,” she retorted at Olive who shrugged.
“Same difference.”
Gia swallowed her anger. She hadn’t come to spurt rage at her. She walked to the bar and looked at a few drinks. Then she picked a small bottle of vodka and poured it in a glass. She opened the ice compartment and scooped two cubes of ice into her glass.
“What brings you here, man snatcher?”
Gia stopped in her tracks. She curled her fist tightly until her knuckles turned white.
“You see, Wayne isn’t here so I doubt you’ll not get bored. You want him to notice you, right? How can he notice you when he’s not here?”
Gia rolled her eyes and gulped down her drink.
“You called me a man snatcher when I haven’t even done anything? Ha!”
“Gia, you can do whatever you want to do. Go to any length. But you’ve already failed. Wayne Knight is mine and none of your stupid tactics to deceive me would work anymore,” Olive warned menacingly.
“Oh no! I’m so scared,” cried Gia dramatically. She filled her glass again and took a sip. Olive gulped and took a deep breath. She didn’t want to allow her wolf act out of jealousy and possessiveness again. Or else she would ruin the bar with filthy blood from Gia.
“You know, Olive. I admire you. You’ve got confidence. Empty confidence though. What makes you think you’ll be accepted by the pack because you have been accepted by Wayne?”
Olive blinked repeatedly as she stared at Gia blankly. What was she talking about? Gia stared into her eyes and allowed the question to sink into her. Then she took her clutch and gulped down the rest of her drink.
“The pack loves this present Alpha of theirs and are very protective about him. They love how he had exalted them above all other packs. They want to stay that way. They also want their Luna to be someone who can live up to Wayne’s and the pack’s standard. Someone with elegance and reverence. That way, the pack can continue in their pride of being the most exalted pack.”
She walked to Olive’s front and sighed.
“What is most precious to them is Wayne’s life. And of course, their pride. Therefore, they wouldn’t want someone who has tried to take both,” she concluded. Olive’s face fell and her eyes shook. Gia smirked at her evilly and walked out of the Circular Cabinet.
