Veiled Secret

Book:The Billionaire Alpha Contract Lover Published:2024-8-24

Male shifters were not allowed to enter the gynecology department.
It could be too much if their wolves were
exposed to their mates in pain while delivering or going through contractions.
After sending the pregnant she-wolf in, Damian sat in a chair in the waiting area.
As soon as he turned around, he met Taya’s sad gaze. He was shocked and took a few steps back to stabilize himself.
“Taya, why are you here?”
are you here?”
Damian looked visibly panicked. He probably didn’t expect Taya to know
about that.
Harper told Taya everything, which made him a little unhappy.
She was his mate, and she shouldn’t be sharing all of their business with her best
friend.
After a moment of fear, Damian quickly calmed down and explained to Taya without batting an eyelid.
“I already went back. My sister wasn’t feeling well, so I brought her to the big pack hospital to get checked out.”
On the surface, this made sense, but…
“Your sister?”
How come she had never heard that
Damian had a sister?
“She’s pregnant, so it was inconvenient for her to attend the mating ceremony. You may not have met her before. Harper knows her. I guess she forgot to tell you…”
There was a hint of sarcasm in Damian’s
last sentence.
Taya didn’t ask any more questions. However, how she looked at Damian was no longer as gentle as before?
She walked in the direction of the
elevator. After entering, she did not close
the door immediately. Instead, she hid in the corner and looked toward the obstetrics and gynecology department.
Thinking that Taya had left, Damian waved to the pregnant woman. The woman immediately came over.
After saying something, the woman shook Damian’s hand, acting like a spoiled child. Damian scratched her nose.
Their behavior was very intimate. They didn’t look like siblings at all. Instead, they looked like a couple who had been in love for many years.
Taya also recorded this scene and then sent a message to Harper to ask her about Damian’s sister.
[He does have a younger sister, but I haven’t met her before. What’s wrong?]
Taya typed quickly. [Nothing. I saw Damian at the hospital. He was taking her to the obstetrics and gynecology department.]
When Harper saw the message, her face darkened. [The obstetrics and gynecology department? Isn’t he with his family on pack lands?]
Taya told Harper what Damian said.
But why didn’t he tell Harper he was back and taking his sister to the hospital? He obviously didn’t want Harper to know.
It was so strange.
Harper turned off her phone, took out her
car key, and went straight to the hospital.
Taya still didn’t send Harper the video. She’d let Harper see for herself.
If Damian really betrayed her, the video in her hand would be the evidence, and she would send it to Harper.
Harper didn’t arrive rapidly. Taya feared they would leave after the woman saw the doctor, so she chose a place where they couldn’t see her and sat down.
About half an hour later, the pregnant woman came out and was helped to the inpatient area by Damian.
Taya immediately got up and followed him. When she saw that Damian had
completed the admission procedures,
Taya quickly rushed down to the gift shop to buy something, picking up the first thing she saw. It was a fruit basket.
Harper rushed into the hospital and Taya breathed a sigh of relief.
“Taya, why are you here? Is it your heart? Is something wrong?”
Harper had rushed over to “catch” Damian, but when she saw Taya, she had a moment of realization. Obviously, something was wrong with her if she had been at the hospital.
Taya felt warm in her heart and said, “I’m fine Stella asked me to get a few boxes of
medicine. That’s why I came to the hospital.”
Hearing this, it was Harper’s turn to breathe a sigh of relief. It was good that Taya was in good health.
Taya handed the fruit basket to Harper. “Since you’re visiting your sister-in-law, you should bring some fruit.”
Harper soon understood what Taya meant. Taya told her not to be too
impulsive when she saw them.
Instead, she would visit her as sister-in-law and find out what was
happening before thinking of a way to deal with them.
Harper took the fruit basket from Taya
and said softly, “Taya, you’re so thoughtful.”
Taya held Harper’s arm to give her
strength and support. “Let’s go. I’ll keep
you company.”
Taya was not rushing to get the medicine. Instead, she stayed to wait for Harper to come and face whatever happened with Damian along with her friend.
No matter what Harper saw or found out, Taya would be there.
With Taya’s company, Harper was no longer as flustered as before. She calmed herself down and followed Taya to the inpatient area.
Before entering the ward, Harper
stopped and looked inside through the transparent glass…
The pregnant she-wolf looked very young.
Her figure was a little plump because of her pregnancy, and her face was tender and lovely.
There was a pitiful look on her face, and her eyes were full of innocence.
Even Taya felt pity for her.
At this time, Damian was sitting next to her, holding a water bottle with a straw in it, putting it to the pregnant woman’s lips.
It looked…
Harper looked uncomfortable, but she temporarily suppressed the feeling under Taya’s reminder.
Harper smiled, picked up the fruit basket, and entered the ward.
“Damian…”
Hearing the sound of Harper’s, Damian stopped holding the water up, and the pregnant woman looked stunned.
The two seemed to have prepared in advance and quickly returned to normal. Damian took the lead in putting down the water bottle, getting up, and walking to
Harper
“Why are you here?”
Harper glanced at Damian indifferently. Usually, he would call her “honey” first, but not today.
Harper’s eyes dimmed, and she looked at the pregnant woman. It was as if she had seen her rival in love, which made her reluctant to reply.
Seeing her like this, Taya quickly stood up and explained, “I told Harper about seeing you here, and she was nearby. So she came to see you…
Taya gently pushed Harper’s elbow, and Harper looked away only then. With a smile, she handed the fruit basket to
Damian.
“Why didn’t you tell me that your sister is ill? I know a doctor at Arcadia University Hospital. If you had told me in advance, I could have arranged for them to see you. And a public hospital is much cheaper than a private pack hospital. Why spend so much money to take her here?”
The latter half of Harper’s words were intentional. The implication was that they didn’t want to go to the public hospital but secretly came to the private one. They had a guilty conscience.
Damian panicked for a moment, but he quickly covered it up. “My sister did pay for her pack medical insurance. It is the same for her to go to a public or hospital.
