Yunis frowned. What had Rosiley meant by that?
“I want to meet your supervisor.” Yunis remembered that his father and his relationship was quite strong, perhaps he could make use of it to bail Rorey out.
“I’m sorry.” The officer smiled apologetically. “It’s already so late, our supervisor has gone to rest.”
“Rest?” Yunis lowered his head and glanced at his watch. Then, he snorted and said, “It’s only 10 p. m. Your supervisor is probably at some dinner event wrapping his arms around ladies.”
Hearing this, the officer immediately frowned and said seriously, “sir, what you said is considered defamation, please be mindful of your words.”
Yunis found the situation even more hilarious. “Why? You dare to do it but don’t dare to admit it? Tell your supervisor this: if I can’t bail my fiancée out, I will spill all of his dirty secrets.”
He glared at the officer with a sullen gaze. That officer was instantly a head shorter than him in terms of overbearingness. He could only close his logbook angrily and walk outside with hurried steps.
Yunis leaned back against the chair in a calm and composed manner. He knew that the officer had gone out to make a call.
Not long after, the officer came running back. He said reluctantly, “Our supervisor said that you can take her away.”
Yunis stood up and curled his lips. “Thank your supervisor for me. I’ll treat him to a meal someday.”
Then, he pulled out a deck of notes from his inner pocket of his suit and threw them onto the table. “This is for you. Thank you for making that call for me.”
He patted the officers’ shoulders and then walked out with a delighted smile.
Rorey was squatting in a corner of a cell. Her hair and clothes were messy and she looked extremely disheveled.
She hugged her knees with both arms and her eyes glanced through the gaps between the hair that was covering her face. Her eyes were filled with fear.
Just in front of her were a few women chatting with each other. Sometimes, when they mentioned something funny, they would burst into ear-piercing laughter.
Rorey knew that those women were the young ladies who worked at the club. They had been arrested because they had been causing a scene.
These people were usually not easy to mess with. They had seen all kinds of people, their tempers would become rowdier, and their way of doing things would be more malicious compared to an average person’s.
Hence, when they saw the officers throwing Rorey in, an excited glow sparkled in all of their eyes.
Their toy was here.
Rorey did not know what she had experienced. She only knew that these women had stepped on her, punched her, and kicked her. A good deal of hair had been pulled out as well.
If she had not cried out loudly and alerted the officer on guard, she would have died there that night.
“Yunis, quickly get me out of this place. Yunis, Yunis…”
As she murmured, she buried her face in between her knees and her tears flowed silently.
She dared not let those women hear her cry in case they beat her up again.
The moment when Yunis saw Rorey, he was stunned.
The woman who always dressed up beautifully was now in an extremely disheveled state. Her hair was in chunks and her clothes had been torn apart. The most serious part was her swollen and bruised face. He could hardly even distinguish her five features anymore.
“Yunis!”
Rorey plunged into his embrace and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. She buried her face into his embrace and started bawling.
Yunis smelled a very obvious, horrible stench. It came from Rorey, who was in his embrace.
Having grown up like a prince, he had never smelled anything like this. He almost threw up.
He lowered his head and looked at her hair, which was all clumped together. A look of disgust flashed across the bottom of his eyes. However, he still remained patient and pretended to be gentle as he said, “Stop crying, let’s go home.”
Rorey looked up, and her face, which was very hard to look at, entered his line of sight. He frowned slightly and skillfully covered the disgust in his eyes.
He said again gently, “Come, let’s go home.”
