Looking at her back, Callum felt helpless again. Didn’t he say he wouldn’t do that again? Why was she still angry?
He caught up with her in a few big strides, grabbed her hand, and pulled her into the elevator despite her objections. “The task I gave you today has not been completed yet. Now I will go with you.”
“What task?”
The man didn’t say anything and took her directly to the first floor of Dubhe. This morning, Aurelia only walked to the store at the door without entering. This time, she failed to escape and was dragged directly into the men’s underwear store by Callum.
When the sales assistants saw Callum, they immediately trotted over to serve him. “Mr. Finnegan, good afternoon!”
“Mr. Finnegan, welcome!”
Callum was sipping the coffee brought by a salesperson while leisurely looking at the product display book.
Looking at the men’s products around her, Aurelia gave the salesperson an awkward smile, then walked around pretending to be indifferent.
When she saw a pair of bright red panties, the embarrassment on her face immediately disappeared, and she ran over to ask Callum and asked, “Do you wear whatever I buy?”
Callum glanced at her, not missing the cunning in her eyes, and sighed helplessly in his heart. “Yeah.”
Aurelia turned around excitedly and prepared to leave, but Callum added, “No bright red. No boxers.”
His words blocked Aurelia’s idea. She was really going to buy a bright red one for Callum! The girl pouted and said depressedly, “Fine!”
Picking up a pair of black briefs, Aurelia glanced at the man sitting elegantly on the sofa. No. It didn’t suit him.
She picked up another grey one and shook her head again, thinking it was still not good enough for him.
At this time, a salesperson whispered to her, “Miss, what is your relationship with Mr. Finnegan?”
Aurelia said with an innocent smile, “You’d better ask him yourself.”
The salesperson was wordless. If she dared to ask Callum, why would she bother asking her?
Finally, Aurelia stood in front of the cashier, swiped her card with a painful look, and bought three pairs for more than 30, 000 dollars. She had never brought such expensive underwear.
Though the underwear had won the first prize in some international design competition, if she wasn’t afraid that Callum would be dissatisfied, she would never buy it.
Carrying the handbag back to Callum, the man seemed very satisfied. He stood up, grabbed the handbag from her, took her hand naturally before leaving the cashier counter.
Aurelia looked at Callum, who was one step ahead of her, and couldn’t help asking, “How did you buy your own panties before? Why did you ask me to buy it for you?”
The man answered leisurely, “Before, I have them send it to the villa, or just let my assistant buy it. Now that I have a wife, I can leave this kind of thing to you!”
Aurelia was speechless.
When Callum was pulling her to get into the elevator, a scene at the door of a store not far away caught Aurelia’s attention. She held the hand of Callum, who was about to get into the elevator, and he looked back in confusion and followed her gaze.
Not far away, a couple was standing opposite an old lady in janitor uniforms. Looking closely, I found that the young couple was arguing with the cleaner.
The cleaning lady was already crying, but no one passing by cared or asked about it.
“You go ahead. I have something else to do.” After saying that, Aurelia let go of Callum’s hand and left.
When she walked over, she heard the cleaning lady apologizing to the young couple, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it!”
“What’s going on?” She put her hands in her coat pockets and stood in front of them with a full aura.
The man in the young couple glanced at her and asked, “Who are you?”
“You don’t have to care who I am. Just tell me what happened?” Aurelia said lightly.
The cleaning lady choked up and said, “Miss, I accidentally touched his leather shoes with the wet mop.”
“What do you mean by that? Look, there’s water on them. If the skin peels off, can you afford the compensation?” the man angrily questioned the cleaning lady.
The cleaning lady was so scared that she took two steps back and kept apologizing humbly, “Sir, I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to do that. I’ll wipe it for you.”
The man laughed angrily before saying coldly, “Didn’t you hear me? Leather shoes can’t touch water!”
Aurelia pulled the cleaning lady behind her protectively and faced the man herself. “She had apologized. What do you want?”
“What? Of course I want compensation!” the man stated his purpose.
Aurelia pulled the corner of her lip and asked disdainfully, “How much are your shoes?”
The man proudly quoted the price, “Eight hundred and three! Let her pay for it!”
Aurelia laughed, “It’s only 830. I’ll pay you for her!”
The cleaning lady was frightened and quickly tugged at her clothes, saying “Miss, this is not okay. This has nothing to do with you.”
Aurelia smiled back at her. “It’s okay. Don’t worry about it.”
830 was not a big deal for her now, especially after Callum gave her the bank card. But for a cleaner who earned a thousand dollars or less a month, it was really a lot.
Aurelia took out the membership fee for the school martial arts club that she was going to pay from her wallet, intending to use it first. She would just need to withdraw some cash tomorrow and pay the membership fee.
She counted out 850 dollars and handed the money to the man before saying, “850 dollars in total. Keep the change!”
Seeing her give him 850 dollars, the man was so angry that he couldn’t vent his anger.
The man took the money, took his girlfriend and turned away.
Aurelia put away her wallet and stopped him. “Wait a minute.”
The two people looked back in confusion.
Aurelia pointed at the man’s shoes and said, “I gave you money, so your shoes should be mine, right? Take them off before you leave!”
The man’s face turned pale, but there was nothing wrong with what she said, so he had to take off his shoes amid everyone’s pointing and criticizing.
Aurelia felt sick when she looked at the shoes he had worn. She picked up the laces of one shoe between her thumb and index finger, threw it into the air, raised her right foot, and kicked the shoe accurately into the trash can next to the cleaning lady.
The same went for the other one. Her righteous and brave behavior drew a lot of applause.
The young couple left in embarrassment. Aurelia turned around and left with a smile amid the cleaning lady’s crying thanks and everyone’s applause.
After walking out of the crowd, she realized that the man she thought had left was wearing sunglasses, with his hands in his trouser pockets, standing leisurely not far away, as if waiting for her.
She immediately put away her aura, trotted over to him, and said a little awkwardly, “Why haven’t you left yet?”
Callum held her hand and naturally took her in his arms. “If I leave, I won’t be able to see my wife helping others out of justice.”
