“Alfred, what? Okay, I’ll be right back.” Aurelia had been living in the dormitory since she signed the divorce papers.
Alfred suddenly called and asked her to go back to the Finnegan family’s villa, giving her a bad feeling.
“Liana, you go back first. Something came up, and I need to go home now.”
“What happened?” Liana looked at her worriedly.
She waved her hand, “Nothing serious. I’ll see you tomorrow!”
“All right!”
Aurelia hailed another cab and returned to the Finnegan family’s villa. On the way back, she had been uneasy. After Callum knew that she was his wife, would he agree to sign the divorce papers immediately?
After getting out of the cab, Aurelia looked at the brightly lit villa in front of her and began to feel anxious.
Normally, there were only her and Mary, the maid, and Alfred in the villa. However, it was already past ten o’clock in the evening. Alfred and Mary were supposed to leave after work. There was only one possibility. Callum was home.
She took a deep breath, put on her black bag, and walked calmly towards the living room of the villa before she heard Alfred’s voice.
Then two people appeared in her sight.
As expected, Callum was sitting on the sofa.
Callum was listening to Alfred’s report about Aurelia’s situation at school with his eyes closed.
“Her grades were the worst in school… Now, she’s majoring in finance at the School of Economics and Management. She’s currently in the first semester of her junior year…”
At that moment, Alfred heard the noise at the door and looked at Aurelia with sympathy, while Callum seemed not to hear the door closing and still had his eyes closed, his well-defined fingers gently tapping the arm of the sofa.
“What does she usually do at school?” The man’s low and magnetic voice interrupted Alfred. Aurelia quickly looked at Alfred with her puppy-dog eyes, begging him not to tell on her to Callum.
Alfred hesitated immediately, feeling sorry for Aurelia. After all, over the past three years, he had been serving Aurelia.
“Speak!” Callum’s cold voice made them shiver at the same time.
Alfred looked at her helplessly, and said inwardly, “My child, wish you good luck!” Then Aurelia heard Alfred talking about all the bad things she had done with a sense of despair.
If he wasn’t telling on Aurelia, she would definitely give him a thumbs up, saying, “Alfred, you are so dedicated!”
“Someone reported her that she was forming a gang, fighting in the school, and smashing the teacher’s desk.”
Aurelia knew it must be Evelyn who reported her without even trying!
After hearing the second half of the sentence, she broke into a cold sweat. She did smash the teacher’s desk, but it was not her fault.
Callum was her husband, not her father. Why did he have to control everything like a father?
“Enough! Clean up a room upstairs for me.” Callum suddenly opened his tightly closed eyes and looked at Aurelia with an expressionless face.
Alfred wondered, “Is Mr. Finnegan going to live here? Shouldn’t he share a room with Mrs. Finnegan?
He didn’t dare to ask. Suppressing the doubts in his heart, Alfred immediately went upstairs and started having people clean the largest room.
Aurelia felt uneasy under Callum’s sharp gaze as she held the edge of her clothes tightly. Every word Alfred said felt like a stab to Aurelia’s heart.
She was not afraid of Callum at first, but at this moment, his aura was menacing. He didn’t even need to say a word, and his cold face only could send shivers down everyone’s spine. Aurelia felt a little scared now.
“Come here!” Callum’s command made her, whose mind went blank, take a few steps back reflexively.
Having a troublesome wife like her, Callum would divorce her immediately. Or would he want to bury her alive? If he meant to bury her alive right now, she would be dead meat.
Callum glanced indifferently at Aurelia’s slightly pale face.
She was very brave in school. And she also sang the song to provoke him just now. Thinking about how many times she pissed him off, Callum wondered why she didn’t dare to raise her head now.
“From now on, I will move in here, and you won’t be allowed to live in the dormitory. I will also send you to school every day!” He said coldly, making Aurelia feel frustrated in an instant.
Was she going to lose her freedom from now on?
Aurelia almost jumped up in anger!
Before she could lose her temper, Callum spoke up, “Any objections?” Seeing the anger in her eyes, he looked colder, the atmosphere in the living room was depressing.
He could care less about what Aurelia was like before! That was because he didn’t know her identity. But the moment he knew she was his wife, Aurelia would be under his control!
He planned to teach her a lesson.
At this moment, she knew exactly how terrible Callum was! A man with tremendous power and wealth. A man who could get rid of a person as he pleased.
Aurelia tried to calm herself.
Aurelia quickly suppressed her anger and frustration and shook her head. Even though she was furious, she didn’t dare to take it out on Callum, nor did she dare to mention the divorce papers.
Given he asked about her current situation and had someone to clean the room, it was obvious that he didn’t want a divorce!
Aurelia shuddered slightly when she met his eyes. It was early autumn, but she felt freezing cold in the villa, so cold that her body was almost shaking.
She initially filed for divorce because she wanted freedom. Why did she seem to have even less freedom after she signed the divorce papers? Didn’t he hate her? Why didn’t he divorce her? Why?
Callum stood up from the sofa silently and walked upstairs. The depressing vibe wasn’t gone until Callum completely disappeared on the second floor staircase. Aurelia breathed a sigh of relief.
Would she lose her freedom in the future? What should she do? She sat on the sofa anxiously, her mind racing.
She then took out her phone and searched the internet for more information about him. However, when she typed his name, nothing was found, not even a single word or a picture!
Was he so powerful that he could even control the network?
Knowing her enemy would ensure victory in every battle, but she had no access to know about her enemy. How could she defeat Callum?
Negotiate with him directly? No. Callum would kill her immediately!
